http://www.andrew.mcp.dsl.pipex.com/lomac.htm Movies are like buses. Wait ages getting cold & wet, then two come along at once. Still, LOC and I are in different categories, so we're not competing for the same Oscar ;-) Anyway, after watching the amazing live VFTC internet airshow last weekend I couldn't help but try to show my appreciation. The result is far from perfect (I really must learn to edit my own work more objectively, and not get hung up on musical hooks) but it does go some way towards showing everyone how inspired I was by their flying. Remember they performed live. No re-starting if someone made a mistake. And the result was close enough to flawless that I couldn't see any problems! Anyway, enjoy the movie, but all your appreciation should go to An.Petrovich, Const, Enot, and Han. Andrew McP1 point

How come the icon in lower left says it adds to your rep, but it doesn't? I'm confused. I need some ice cream.1 point

Selling downloaded software with a registration code is more a matter of trust then any other thing. I do not say this will be the case, but in fact the seller can continue to use its downloaded software and the same registration key that he sold. The buyer have no guarantees, other then the word of the seller, that the registration code will only be used by the buyer from the moment the software as "changed hands". But if the seller continue to use the software and the registration key? Now there are two different persons using the same key and that seems to be illegal. Once we buy the software we have also a key to activate the product. That key should be private and for the use of the single buyer. If you sell the software downloaded you must provide the registration key as well. If you not then the buyer can't use the software and the sail is there void: the buyer can't use the product as advertised by the seller, therefore the seller did not complied with his obligation - to provide a product in good conditions of use. If the buyer can't use then it's not in conditions to be used. The key issue here is in fact the registration key. One can say that when we buy/download the software we are also buying the registration key, i.e., the means to use the software. I personally don't agree. What you're actually buying is the right to use the software - license. The registration key as no value for its own. It's used as a way to prevent that others, then the buyer, use the product without license to do it. I see it like a key for a road car. We buy the car, with it comes a key that allows opening the car and starting the engine. What we bough was the car, the key is just a mean to prevent that others use our car. It's a security for the buyer and, in software, a security for the author/manufacturer as well. If I sell the car I deliver the key, but it's clear that I wont sell the key, and no one will buy it, as a product by it self. Alone, the key as no value at all. Now comes the problem. We bough a right to use a downloaded software, which we paid for. With that right comes an agreement: a registration key is given but we agree to keep it private and for our own use. I sell the eventual rights I have over the software but I can't deliver the registration key. If I give the registration key to someone else I'm violating the agreement made when we bought the software in the first place. If I'm violating that agreement then we're responsible for a third party using the software, software that is not allowed to be use cause the second buyer hasn't agreed in the first sell with the author. Also the developer/publisher, who ever have the right to sell the software initially, didn't agree to make the registration available to no one else but the first buyer. So, if we can't provide the registration key to others there is not point in selling the software, as the sell will be void, as long the new buyer can't use the software as advertised. Going still further, in almost 100% of the cases (I can't remember one that's different) we don't buy the product. What we paid for is a license to use it within certain conditions. A license therefor can be seen more as a service rather then a product. If someone sell me a service I don't see how can I sell the same service to others if that service isn't mine to sell. What I have is only the final result of the service and the final result is the software that we're licensed to use. I do know this is open to discussion but the fact is this: a private agreement, as long as it's not contradictory with the upper law, oblige both parts to respect it for all the conditions agreed. If I agree with other that the software is meant to be used only in one PC, the registration key is to be used only by the person that agrees with the terms of the licensing and that I can't share the software and/or the registration keys, I don't see how that agreement can contradict the upper law. The agreement doesn't oblige to any criminal or illicit behaviour nor is limiting any rights already present in law. So we must comply with it and to "sell" the license to others without knowledge and agreement from the author isn't legal. At least this is my position on this, although I'm not ED either, of course. Uff, that was long.1 point

We are void of humor. Face it folks. NOTHING IS FUNNY ANYMORE! So sad........1 point

No GG  , I seemed to make a joke - partially on the fact that some people cannot just accept that they make a mistake(such as me spelling "bickering" wrong), but instead come up with all sorts of silly explanations not to loose face......and partially on the fact that Stormin clearly knows how to spell "bickering" but apparently doesn't know what it means. Otherwise I cannot think of a reason why he would continue doing it after I told him to stop. :) - JJ.1 point

Спасибо, разобрался. То есть, цифра - что-то вроде удельного веса голоса/мнения участника. В FAQ бы это положить, бог уж с ним, с точным термином, может, кто-нибудь предложит удачный со временем.1 point

Quiet Stormin! Stormin, your apologist attitude isnt helping anything! We all know you from SIMHQ. If you are not providing a constructive answer then perhaps it is time to stop answering!!! Cheers Sharky1 point

I understand the frustration for everyone, me included, but I'm sorry Stormin, boo hoo, and stop crying isn't a reply anyone should submit. Manx aired out his opinion, you aired out your frustration. I'm a big fan of yours Stormin. Please don't take away from that. I think we could all use more patiance here. We're all in the same boat here. Give ED a little time to sort things out. It's a big job you know. They provide us with hours, days, months and years for some of us, with a great past time. Be patiant, give Ed some time and I'm sure we will all be happy in the end. Fly 1.02 while you're waiting. I still have fun with it.1 point

Woah there attitude boy. The poor guy is simply expressing his frustration at the complete lack of visibility on this site. No updates, very little comment from anyone in the know, the front page seemingly never changes, then when he and others ask a simple question like 'when might we buy this marvellous product' he gets helpfully told that the product was never intended for sale to him and his ilk. Personally I'll be snapping it up at the earliest opportunity, but as I'm waiting for my Cougar upgrades (April NXT run - Woohoo!) and it's pretty hard work flying with the stock joystick, I can wait. (Just thought I'd share.) PS: Stormin - Not having a go at you old chap, you're an important and vocal part of this community but on this occasion the 'whiners' (of which I am one) do have a point. Right, back to lurking. Cheerio!1 point

Would it be possible to add a choice of disapproval? If we get our Rep Power up to 50 do we get a prize? :D1 point
-
So I have just checked and I have 10 rep points. Does that mean that ten people have clicked the scales and added to my rep points? Oh and if I leave a comment where does it go?...I just gave jj_pt a rep point but I can't see the comment I left anywhere. It would be helpful if the Rep Power info was added to the "*ATTENTION* - Forum rules & policies" sticky.1 point
