Well hello there. -[deleted old text and files]- At last I found some time to redraw some more markings and numbers textures, here is a preview hey, it was 6 AM that's why screenshot is like a mess :D List of textures: KREST-GERM.TGA NOMERA.TGA NOMERA-BLACK.TGA NOMERA-RED-2.TGA NOMERA-RED.TGA NOMERA-YELLOW.TGA RUS-STAR-ZNAK.TGA TURK-ZNAK.TGA UKR-KRUG.TGA UKR-LOGO.TGA UKR-ZNAK.TGA USA-ZNAK-BLUE.TGA Place textures into "\Bazar\TempTextures" folder. BTW I tried to make a CDDS first, but for some reason it became 3 times larger then TarGAs  will figure out that later. Enjoy FV Marks&Numbers Fix ver 1.0.rar1 point

12 January Update: Black Sea Operations – Operation Tartar Here are the first eight missions of what could turn out to be a 30 sortie campaign. http://www.dpsflight.com/F15OpTartar.htm Assigning goals/targets without giving away who the bad guys are proved to be quite tricky. For several of the missions you could simply hit ‘Esc’ to move on to the next one. I’ve also tried to avoid relying on AI colleagues to do their job properly – unfortunately some of them will just jettison their load at the very sight of the enemy coast ahead. If your interested, let me know what you think of the campaign so far. DPS. ________________________________________________________ I was up to Mission 7 by the 9th and I’m just putting the finishing touches to Mission 8 this morning. I’ve got loads of spare time from the end of this week, so I should have the whole lot completed by the 19th of this month. Any thoughts on very long missions where nothing happens (like in real life) such as BARCAPS? Take-off, fly the pattern for hours (or Ctrl AAA) and watch the sun set. I could introduce a re-fuelling and you could watch the sun rise too. In fact I’ll post the first eight missions up to the web site tomorrow so you can have a preview and post comments. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=1794099948565409155 DPS.1 point

I've seen birds in lockon, but only once though, and that was after a heavy ganja session...1 point

Not programmed into WCS of export, downgraded 9-12A and further downgraded 9-12B (like NSCode said detection range of Yugoslav MiG vs MiG was cca 20 km) but featured in Frontal Aviation' s 9-12.1 point

Fly inverted to the target, to have better view on the ground and be able to spot a trail. P.S. kidding ofcourse :D1 point

Not exactly. SA and cockpit integration are important factors for sure, but once the fight degenerates into a furball, the aircraft is limited in its ability to supply the pilot with sensory information of multiple manuevering supersonic bandits. The bigger the furball, the worse this problem is - the pilot cannot possibly keep track of all enemy (and friendly) aircraft zipping around his cockpit at Mach 1 in anything larger than a 2 vs. 2 fight. The key is the pilot is the determining factor, not the airframe's sensors. Furthermore, in a furball, you can get brief instants where there are multiple bandits in positions that can "threaten" (i.e. you're inside their MEZ) your aircraft, as your friends/wingmen can not possibly be forcing all the enemies defensive all the time. Of course, this can also be true for your side, as your team may enjoy a brief instant where multiple fighters can engage/destroy the enemy. However, in a furball, it's mostly chaos, so there's no way to control this. Hence the "leveling" effect in a furball. This levelling effect has always existed as a technology equalizer, but has only been compounded with the introduction of high off boresight SRAAMs. It doesn't matter if you're flying an F-22 - if you're caught in between 2 MiG-21s and 4 R-73s, you better be prepared to pull those ejection handles. It also explains the shift of U.S. doctrine to avoid large furballs, though it's still practiced - nobody wants to explain how a $200 million F-22 is lost to the American public.1 point

Well firstly, when you ask "why not" I would say: MiG-21 surely is a legend and many people would love to sit in its cockpit and take it for a spin. It is surely a LOT of work to get the cocpit, instruments and all avionics work (on ED's standard level) I would personally love to have MiG-21 flyable as it just looks really nice and it is one of the most widely used fighters ever BUT... people would ditch it very quickly in game(s) because it just can't compete against more modern fighters like MiG-29S, Su-27 or F-15C (which we have in game). So, beasically this would be lot of work to get it going, but it would not get far I'm afarid, as being used.1 point

Little bit earlier ))) http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?p=281285#post281285 I'm creator of this prog. ;) No, MFD or TVM are not possible for now :( But I plan to create flight-map MFD like on Su-27 or MiG-29. Free positioning and scalling would be in next versions, soon I hope! one question... I photographed MiG-21 and MiG-25 pits... Look at this (MiG-21): How do you think, it worse to build some skin from it?1 point

Thanks all for your comments and tips, i'll definatley try that fraps at 1/2 speed. the antialiasing; I have the AA set to 2x, game settings are on medium with full shadows & lights, & i have the tree count increased by 1/3 with modman, I get 20-30fps, its usually pretty smooth. I see what you mean about the jagged edges on some shots in the movie, i used the in game renderer for all the in flight shots, action etc & they seemed to have smoother edges than the tarmac shots i grabbed with fraps. It possibly has something to do with converting the clip in "virtual dub". I use this program to reduce the huge file size fraps creates, then i put the clips into vegas for editing, i noticed during the editing some clips looked distorted & the edges were more jagged (fraps recordings only), but its hard to tell at the time when your looking at everything in preveiw mode. Anyway im still learning the tricks of movie making, its trial by error atm lol Glad you enjoyed it, & thanks for polling Cheers Adder <S>1 point

Well to tell you the truth it's /possible/ to rotate 'em. But due to a bug, you can only rotate them vertically, if you try to rotate horizontally, they are are fine in payload editor, but return to 0 rotation when in game. I have no idea why or how the update utility doesnt work for you , i have put your files in my lo installation, ran the installer and everything was perfectly fine. Attached them for you, and anyone who have problems may use them. Btw, i fixed aspect ratio for you to 1.25, if you havent noticed 1.3333 squashes objects on 1280x1024 res. files.rar1 point

Hi Eagle Dynamics, What i cant seem to understand is WHY? Why Lomac will not run on High Scenes with High visibility on low altitude with over 10-15fps? (Throw a few shilka's in there on a multiplayer game and your looking at a slideshow) Why did You Eagle dynamics tell us its built for future systems, when this game is over 2 years old and it doesnt run on these settings on monster systems of today? I Have a monster system and always wondered why you fed us your nonsense about lomac running with high settings on future systems.(Let me guess when you meant future systems, You pictured the lomac community with grey hair and a beard still playing this game) Having this game on high settings in a multiplayer scenario is impossible, and those who say it can be done, are wrong and argue for the sake of arguing and hinder improvement of this game. Problem I see here is, what is the point of releasing BlackShark, when we cant get the full immersion factor of lomac? Im sorry but flying a helicopter in BF2 is more immersive than flying BS on low scenes over mountains that look like cardboard cuttings. Its obvious to me and alot of others that you dont give a damn about fixing or updating this issue of the faulty code in the game, instead you pump out new flyables which will be useless to have if the game base code is just riddled with errors. My last question to you Eagle dynamics. WHY wont Lomac run on full visibility and high scenes on ANY computer out there? Thats right, your code is screwed up. I guess I answered my own question after all. Now i wonder if you had some? Translate this Webpage to Russian: http://http://www.humanitas-international.org/newstran/more-trans.htm1 point
