I made this PDF for someone else, but I am posting it here as an attachment in case it is of interest to others. It is a very basic description of the engine dust protectors that we show to our new pilots and mechanics. Note that this is for an Mi-17, but the Ka-50 uses the same engines and dust protectors. Hey, after getting frustrated because of the pixelation by the 32x32 icon present in LOMAC on Vista, I have decided to create a 48x48 icon replica of the LOMAC icon for people using the 48x48 icon view in Vista or XP. I'm a bit out of the loop, so if this has been asked and answered before, drop me a link by PM and delete this post, no prob about that... OTOH, I did use the Search function (searched only Titles) and didn't come up with any useful answer regarding my question, so here it goes... Are the failures working, or not (bugged?)? I'm setting up a training mission for a single Su-27, and I need the systems to fail (HUD, CRT and autopilot) in order to force the pilot to use the ADI and HSI to land in bad weather (I set the cloud ceiling to 350 m AGL, which should be at least close to realistic). I've set the failures to ocurr a minute apart from each other and to last for two hours with 100% probability, but when the time comes, nothing happens... Does somebody have an advice..?1 point

I think it was AirTito who said that one gets the impression with the Ka50 of something of a work in progress that was never fully made it past testing. Assuming that the sim is accurate, that is true in my experience. I notice it most with the awkward and limited communication between the ABRIS and the PVI-800. Many of the complaints we have might very well mirror the complaints that the handful of existing Ka50 pilots have as well. The least amount of guesswork on EDs' part, the better. Leave guessing and a full sensor suite to EECH. I want to learn to work around the limitations of the machine I've been given. Smokin' Hole1 point

I read in a post from one of the Devs that ED will only make sims that have the FULL plans of the aircraft released to the public. I would imagine there are still classified parts of the Longbow that they could not properly sim. While I want for it, I am glad that ED has the integrity to model them accuratly and completly. Even to the point of not guessing!1 point

I am afraid that reducing collective while doing a hammerhead is not a good idea because you reduce available yaw moment . In Ka-50 generally you can perform only something like barrel roll. I never consider it hard. The main point is to get initial pitch 10-15 deg at 150-220 kph. Then roll it reducing collective to gear up attitude and then pull it back getting the normal attitude. Starting the loop you must be at 270-280 kph speed. Level the wings. Then pull... Watch the bank. When you are getting normal attitude descending watch rotor rpm and increase collective if necessary to avoid overrev. It gives you more G, by the way. If all was OK your blades length will be the same as before the loop... :) The point is not to move the stick fast when your BS rotates fast... :) Split-S, by the way, is very useful too.1 point

Attn: Saitek X52 and X52 Pro Joystick users ! Black Shark and other games may have/need to have game keyboard commands, either created by the user or already used by the game. Saitek SST Software versions up until now would not allow 'Right-Shift' key combinations to be programmed using the Saitek Profile software. The SST profile editing and making software would not accept the Right-Shift key as a function. The new Saitek BETA SST Software has the problem Fixed! So now, if you want to program a key sequence of (example) Right-Shift+J , you now can. If you have the latest non-beta version of Saitek SST Software, you can just take the Beta SST and write directly over the SST files without having to uninstall the SST Software and Drivers. No need to update the Drivers. Great read. Whatever happened at your job, be cool. Doing anything hot-headed is likely going to end in trouble. Relax, take a breath, count to 10, fly virtually a little (even FSX helps), and get some sleep. If the troubles does not disappear, at least the solution to it will be clearer. Good luck!1 point

А стоп туплю. Я почемуто втыкнул в то, что нада сделать, тлько на оборот. Мне показалось что кабину меньше нада сделать. а все остальное оставить. Хотя я уже уменьшал текстуры. Глянь тему про моды к ЧА. Там есть линк и уже готовые уменьшенные текстуры. Сам делал. Качай . все уже есть. Тлько есть не большой глюк :( кое где пропали стекла. Normal SAI operation is in its uncaged position, when the SAI goes bezerk or stays up the wrong way after some heavy/roll manouvres you pull out the fast erect knob to cage it again when in near level flight to bring it back to its normal position. you can then release the knob again to uncage it. This I believe is how a normal reallife ASI is operated according the following ASI manual I found online. MODEL 300-14EL ATTITUDE GYRO OPERATOR GUIDE If you check the "In-flight Procedures" caution you can read it is not normal to have it caged in flight. So you cage or set it on the ground (when it gets power it is caged, the knob is pulled out), then you uncage it and the knob goes back into it's normal position. And when it goes haywire you cage it while back in level flight to reset it. Thi is how reallife operation goes, but it might be that Black Shark has a programming error that causes this problem for some reason I don't really know.1 point
