  8. I read I believe it was on the official page that in DCS A-10 you'll particpiate in Red Flag exercises? What exactly does that translate into? Will there be visitors and not just Russian armor to shoot but other countries to practice on? Or will it just mean a 2ship flight of hogs going to a turkey shoot? Will there be a campaign?

Hi all, I just spoke with one of our lead developers, and he confirmed to me that TrackIR development will be starting up very soon. 64-bit application interoperability will be the first item on the list. Meaning extracting from the sim to a container file, of course it need some kind of compression after that (Not FRAPS, not PNG method) Interesting article, but doesn't match with my 35 tests aprox. that I did time ago with several encoders. At same config values, the result looked better for the eye (less pixelate, more accurate colors, etc...)

Are you ready to take off? See yuu up there. By the way This is what you can read in the Pre-Order webpage: "Purchase of "DCS: A-10C Warthog" also provides access to Beta versions of the game and access to a closed Beta forum. Betas will be updated during development." IMHO, it´s not that confusing.

If you set it to "1" it will only send the key command once. Then do the same for "mapped key on release", and you should be on your way..!:thumbup: 2.) Get the toggle switch safety cover to work with the sim I'm working on that right now for my own Right Side Panel. Stop by my thread in a week or so..:cry: Connecting LED's to Leo Bodnars Controller Cards: For a way to connect LED's read Leo Bodnars own reply at Leo's forum: http://www.leobodnar.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=4 "You need to use DPST switch which is in effect two independent switches in one housing: http://www.colehersee.com/04resource/dpst.htm It might be easier to find DPDT (ON-ON) switch, and use only one side of the contacts: http://www.colehersee.com/04resource/dpdt.htm Here is how to connect them to the BU0836 with an indicator LED. To light up an LED you can use any +5V pin and any GND pin (e.g. from an unused analogue input set.) Don't forget that normal LED needs a resistor to limit the current flowing through it. 330 Ohms is a good start but you can calculate exact value if you know LED voltage drop and required current. Altogether you can power 20-30 LEDs from one BU0836 if it is attached directly to the PC or powered hub and about a dozen if it is attached to an unpowered hub. Cheers Leo "

A procedure to get >perfect< videos out of DCS/FC 2.0 (WIP) *********************************** :beer:Big thanks go to helpful people from VideoHelp.com Forum - poisondeathray, jagabo and others! Whenever I talk geeky about video encoding and editing it's thanks to their help :) *********************************** General idea - use Record AVI tool advantages (see the initial post), get lossless output, work in lossless format, (at the end) compress lossless format with lossy extreme quality x264 codec: DCS/FC 2.0 Mission Editor: Flight - Record AVI -> select a track PNG sequence + WAV, 100% quality, (for youtube HD->) 30 FPS, 1280x720 VirtualDUB: Open the first image from the sequence. It will load the whole sequence autom. VirtualDUB: Video -> Full processing mode AND Audio -> Direct stream copy VirtualDUB: Audio -> Audio from other file -> select the WAV audio file generated by DCS (at this point you can already use the VirtualDUB's full editing capabilities and/or save the file as AVI for YouTube) VirtualDUB: Video -> Compression -> Lagarith lossless codec -> Configure -> Mode: RGB (default) + enable Multithreading VirtualDUB: File -> Save as AVI (now we have a video in lossless format of both video and audio) Do video editing of any kind and in any application on the created lossless video. When it's ready to be produced (final work, publishing, uploading to YouTube etc.) proceed to the next step x264 GUI (XviD4PSP, Handbrake etc.) -> compress the final lossless video using x264 (video) and AAC (audio) extreme quality presets. If you're a perfectionist you may produce your video using lossless codec accepted by YouTube. The only lossless codec I've tested with YouTube so far is CamStudio lossless codec that comes with CamStudio freeware screen recording software (suitable for desktop recording only - not in-game recordings, although the codec is universal). Done! The final effect should be at least as good as these Please keep in mind that: - I would never be able to capture such a smooth video on my rig using any other capturing method. Again - if I'd choose 100 FPS output the Record AVI tool would happily produce that smooth 100 FPS video for me. Get it?! :D - these are beginnings Disk space limitations Converting PNG sequence to lossless video format you will work with will obviously require HDD space for both (the sequence can be deleted only after it has been converted, obviously). The simple solution is to convert PNG sequences from fragments of our track one by one e.g.: - first 10 minutes of a track file to PNG sequence - PNG sequence conversion to lossless video format - PNG sequence deletion - next 10 minutes of a track file to PNG sequence - ... and so on. A piece of advice for those who would like to begin the Record AVI adventure - in the Record AVI tool window select the start and ending time to get an output from 20 seconds maximum. You don't need more to see how it works and it will be reasonably fast to render. Also make some notes of the filesizes for your 20 s videos. It might shock you a bit :D Why lossless compresion? PNG (lossless c.) vs JPG (lossy c.) example that applies to videos too Additionally each time you save lossy compressed file into another lossy compressed file the quality degrades further (e.g. each JPG to JPG save). Same with video and audio formats using lossy compression. PNG (or HuffYUV for video) will reamin pixel to pixel identical to the source file no matter how many times you save it. __________________________________ What is the best lossless codec for editing? __________________________________ Color space conversions = loss of quality. How to prevent it? Is it hard to achieve? Lossless formats workflow can still suffer from loss of quality due to color space conversions. :baby:The solution does not look complicated... Record AVI tool selected resolution and FOV: TO DO: Estimate file size of 10 min long Lagarith lossless codec video, 1280x720, 30 FPS. _____________________________________________________________________________________________ OUTDATED INFO!   34. Почему то ты этот трек не выложил, выложи - пусть все посмотрят другой трек будут ли там перегрузки выше чем надо или нет. Ты утверждаешь что чувак читерил, в 1 полете, а во втором значит все было правильно? Ты думаешь что он проигрывая не стал бы использовать чит? Или может админы включили проверку файлов? Надеюсь ты не чувак с повышенным ЧСВ, который считает что, если он побеждает то значит это в порядке вещей, а если проигрывает значить противник либо читак либо задрот. Просто такие сплошь и рядом встречаются, чуть чуть научился убивать бота и сразу в асы лезет. Лично мне кажется, что просто надо чуть чуть потренироваться и все будет хокей. Извини но, на треке ты как <s>нуб</s> начинающий летал в карусели. А этот ваш читак, видимо что то понимает в маневренном бою, видна ИЛ2шная школа, я бы с ним полетал.

  35. ..а понял ))) про шилку и стингера. незнаю. дело в том что снаряд на такой траектории прямо не летит , а подуге и подгадать так с первого раза ,да еще так быстро прицелиться и попасть супертанки просто какието. Нафиг вообще зенитки даваите самолеты из танка расстреливать. не реально. Да вопрос к разработчикам почему у т80 и т90 не работает активная броня? она же должна отстрелиать в сторону ракеты взрыв пакет...

  36. i had a BS person complaining about same thing in my FC2 created mission. I opened my mission again in FC2, then: Set Mission Options (Tick button) Against Game flight mode and/or Game avionics mode: 'check' enforce & 'uncheck' value he's happy now

  37. This may work...... If you go to the options in the main menu. Select Gameplay tab and make sure the "Game Flight Mode" and "Game Avionics Mode" are unchecked, and that the "Use these options for all missons" is checked. Then re-save your mission in the mission editor and try again. Nate

  39. Great job, as usual, Mustang. The atmosphere improvements of roads, buildings, fences, etc., make the low flying experience even better. Personal comment about adding road markings to all roads: If all markings are identical, all roads will look like two lane, one way streets. My personal preference is to have a distinction between roads and highways. I made a ModMan compatible addon of the current version for FC2 and Blackshark as v2.0 does the trick for me. Anyway, I'll continue to use some version of this mod, as it is a welcomed improvement. Thanks for your hard work.

  43. Here's 2 quick photos I took of the stick and the shaft, should show give good idea what I've done On first picture it's the shaft to which the stick handle is connected to... I've just cut off the ends of the metal so the connector can freely rotate On Second picture it's the handle end, there I've shortened the black plastic so its narrower and had to file off the alluminium alloy till stick can freely be rotated... it's little bit of work but nothing too hard, it gives me ability to rotate the stick and that's what I was after

As long as the engine isn’t actively rendering waves, splashes and reflections under the ground terrain then it doesn’t matter, it’s just a big polygon which is clipped out before it hits the screen buffer. And as GA said, you can turn it down as with a lot of things. I am having a vision of the future………its coming………i can’t hold it in….. DCS: A-10 will use DX9. That’s 2 below an 11 and one below a 10. 8 more than 1 and sounds like a German “no”. The graphics will be configurable. There will be options. Some will moan about the graphics being too intense and making their computers run slow. They will be advised to TURN SOME SETTINGS DOWN. Some will complain about the graphics being too basic and not making use of their mega-sli-hex-core PC’s. They will be advised to PUSH ALL THE SLIDERS TO THE RIGHT. Some will bemoan the DirectX version and the loss of features that they don’t understand. It’s a lower number and therefore must be bad. When the next DCS module ships with DX11 many will moan that they are not prepared to upgrade their gfx card and how outrageous everything is. When the next DCS module ships with DX11 many will moan that it doesnt support DX13 or whatever version comes with windows 8. When the next next DCS module comes out with support for DX13 many will moan that they are not prepared to upgrade their gfx card and how outrageous everything is. Again.
