Уважаемые хозяева серверов ГС2, Крайние несколько недель нами тестировался сетевой патч ГС2, устраняющий уязвимость серверов к DoS-атакам. В общей сложности в проверки были вовлечены до 7 открытых общественных серверов (не считая наших), существенных проблем не обнаружено. Хотфикс и инструкция по установке находятся на странице загрузки патчей к ГС2 (http://www.lockon.ru/downloads/patches/). Перед установкой не забудьте сделать резервную копию бинарных файлов из каталога установки. Обращаю внимание на то, что данный хотфикс предназначен именно для загружаемой версии ГС2 и не требует активации. Побочным эффектом применения патча является несколько некорректное сообщение о провале проверки файлов - клиенту просто выдается сообщение о разрыве соединения. Фикс должен быть установлен только на сервере, ставить его на клиенте нет никакой необходимости. Серверы и клиенты с фиксом и без фикса остаются совместимы в сетевой игре. Отдельное спасибо тем хозяевам серверов, которые нам помогали в скрытых "полевых испытаниях".

Dear FC2 hosters, Last weeks we tested network hotfix, that eliminates the vulnerability of servers to DoS-attacks. In total, the checks were drawn up to 7 public FC2 servers (plus our servers), no significant problems were found. Hotfix and installation instructions are on download page for Flaming Cliffs 2 (http://lockon.co.uk/downloads/patches/). Please don't forget to make backup of binaries from the installation path. Pay attention that this hotfix is intended specifically for downloadable version of FC2 and does not require activation. A "side effect" of applying the patch is an incorrect message about the failure of Integrity Check - client will receive message the interrupted connection. Hotfix must be installed only on the server, there is no necessary to put it on the client. Servers and clients with/without this hotfix still compatible in network game.

He should have spent that time improving his flying skills instead :D

Short and Long represent how long you are support to hold down the specific button. Short is a tap, long is a hold. TMS: Targeting Management System DMS: Data Management System CMS: Counter Measure Systems (Chaff and Flares) TGP: Targeting Pod (Long Distance Camera) EO: Not sure but it's basically the fact that you must "warm" the MAV seekers. Here is a list of what your HOTAS functions are. I suggest printing them out, I still have to look at them every once in awhile. (At the top it says "TAD, TGP, HUD, AIM9, MAV" and these columns are for when you have each of these instruments as SOI (which you can set with the Coolie Hat)). Must haves for HOTAS being mapped to your joystick or knowing keyboard shortcuts: MasterMode Button, DMS, TMS, CMS, Weapon Release, Trigger, Trim, Speedbrake, Boat Switch, China Hat, Slew Control, Coolie Hat For everything else you can live without having mapped for now. Once you've mapped each of these things appropriately, make a game with some fuel trucks and some mav's (or I could make it for you) and then just try the steps that other people have laid out while refering to the HOTAS Function Car. If you have any other questions feel free to ask. The A-10 manual isn't the easiest thing in the world.

Here's hoping that the pony project does not divert ED's talent and resources from what ED does best: State-of-the-art modern air combat simulators! Bar none! ED are exceptionally gifted in this field. Looking forward to the next modern aircraft in the DCS series. What ever it is, I will buy it.

And while you're at it ED, could you give us infinite gun ammo, 40 AMRAAM missiles, afterburners, and let us pull continuous 10g turns like in HAWX? :) Refueling is fine, actually. You just need some more practice/a better joystick curve/a better joystick (one or all of the above can prevent you from refueling).

Unless you are having players start at multiple locations, having it detect all players or any players in a zone is unnecessary since you are all there. You can leave the middle colum blank for triggers on mission start since there are no conditions that need to be met. For this, I would probably use a flag type system. Create a trigger to check the radio dials are in the correct position and flag on 1. If you wanted to have the mission play exactly at 8 minutes into the game, you could set flag on 2 during mission start. Then create a trigger condition to see if flag 1 is true, flag 2 is true, time since flag 2 is 480 seconds. Once all 3 of the conditions have been met, then it will play the message to all. So, if the 8 minutes have passed but they have not set the dials yet, it wont play until they do. Time since flag 1 with 480 seconds will play the message 8 minutes after the dials have been set to the proper frequency. The prepare mission to my understanding is used to set cockpit parameters to certain positions and be able to save them. I personally have not been able to get this to work properly. You could hit the fly button with out any errors or issues to test your mission. :) Hope this helps!

HI Tomb here a re a couple of answers.I had not planed on making the IFF knobs but can they would be much more expensive the flat or labeled part would need to be laser printed to be of any use and there is normal an IFF panel on eBay every couple of month. So I really don't see a need for them If you read my cockpit thread you will find the switch, rotary, and potentiometer part numbers i have listed.

We provide software manufacturers with code to implement TrackIR functionality in their games, and part of that code is a unique ID number that tells TrackIR what game it is. The problem here is that they used the Black Shark number for both Black Shark and Warthog instead of using a different number for Warthog. Essentially, both programs are starting up, looking for TrackIR, and saying "Hello, I'm Black Shark". The only way this can be corrected is if the manufacturer of Warthog fixes the error and includes the fix in a patch. They have been notified of the error. _________________________
