  1. Question. Is there a way to check if you are running in OpenXR after the game is running?
  2. Thank you gentlemen!
  3. Sorry, but after reading all 6 pages my mind is a little bit on info overload. For the Index, besides the SteamVR menu setting for OpenXR, do we need to add the start parameters to our shortcut to try OpenXR?
  4. Oh, I forgot to say thanks for the quick response and thank you for all of the hard work you have put into your guide!
  5. Are there any I should look out for?
  6. Hey guys. Just snagged an open box Asus TUF 4080 OC for a decent price and I hoping that you could share your nvidia control panel preferences. I'm moving from an Asus TUF 6900xt and need an nvidia refresher. Thanks on advance.
  7. I use the Free Flight because I can see the resource hits of the cities vs the open water just by looking left or right. Then I can test any LOD/spotting improvements by flying towards and joining the 2 Spitfires that are headed toward me, and once I join up with them I can check on any ghosting of the other aircraft by doing a few aerobics around the AI.
  8. That's funny that is exactly how I test my tweeks and hardware changes... Spitfire Free Flight on the Channel
  9. Looking forward to hearing how things are running.
  10. I'm slowly gathering parts to build my son's first PC. He already has inherited my 5800x and will get my 6900xt when I finally break down and replace it...
  11. Glad it made it safe. I would install and test it before going to bed or I wouldn't sleep.
  12. Glad you were finally able to catch one!
  13. Budget wise I agree that the Reverb G2 v2 is your best bet.
  14. Saw this HMD pop-up alot during CES coverage. Looks promising. More info: https://somniumspace.medium.com/somnium-vr1-headset-devkit-available-at-ces-2023-jan-5th-8th-dd3e9dabd9b Here's what Bradley Lynch had to say about the CES booth experience.
  15. I love my 6900xt and with price what they are it looks like I will be holding on to it a bit longer. That said if money was no object and I was upgrading I would have to go with a 4080 or 4090 for VR based on previous performance disparities between nvidia and amd when I comes to VR performance. If I was looking for pancake gaming then I would be looking at 7900xtx partner cards like an Asus TUF oc. One of the few sites that does testing of GPU'S and VR has this to say... https://babeltechreviews.com/hellhound-rx-7900-xtx-vs-rtx-4080-50-games-vr/
  16. As much I like AMD, I have to agree. While the two cards have over all similar performance, nvidia does a superior job with VR. Hopefully some day AMD will take a look at VR and make some improvements.
  17. Awesome thanks again!
  18. Thank you!
  19. Looks like Asus has finally dropped a bios update with version 4304. And yes it does have the curve optimizer.
  20. Can you share how you did this? Thanks.
  21. I'm sure the results will not be as impressive as these, but I am super curious about how a stock and aib 7900xtx will do.
  22. Did a little digging. Asus has not released the new bios for the Crosshair VIII mobos yet. Currently there is a beta version that includes the return of the curve optimizer, beta version 4303. Hopefully it will be officially released soon.
  23. It took a lot of stalking of MicroCenter to get it back then.
