  1. Just a quick note. I've made one change to my settings that has given me a bit of a boost. Lowering the refresh rate from 120Hz to 90Hz in SteamVR is giving me fairly steady 88-90fps (with a dip to 45fps low over a city). Frame times (both CPU and GPU) have dropped below 10ms. Still have motion smoothing and advanced super sampling turned off. Aslo in the AMD Catalyst software I pushed the AMD Sharpening from 80% to 100%
  2. I don't believe HAGS is even an option with an AMD based card. If I remember correctly a recent update to either Win 10 or Catalyst disabled it. I'll have to check when I get home.
  3. Ooooh, I'm going to give this a try. I have notice that the SteamVR Cliff House and related launch screen graphics have seen a bit blurry...
  4. I fly that other sim as well, and think it is a great feature. I would love to be given this option in DCS.
  5. Just a YMMV option for AMD cards. I'm running a 6900 xt coupled with a 5800x. I run my Index with DCS settings well above the DCS VR preset and pull a solid 60 fps (with a drop to 40 fps down low over cities on maps like The Channel). SteamVR is at 200% and 120Hz. In regards to frame drops/stuttering, my frame times are running in the low to mid teens with no spikes (or at least so few I am not seeing them when I glance at fpsvr). The one setting that throws the whole thing into the dumps is if I enable Motion Smoothing. With Motion Smoothing enabled the game becomes a spikefest and unplayable. I have Motion Smoothing and Advanced Supersampling Filter turned OFF. Like I said this is my personal experience and YMMV.
  6. Pilot body is a must. I miss it when not there.
  7. Maybe I'm just a stick in the mud, but isn't part of the VR experience feeling like you are in the cockpit? For me having to twist around to see behing you is part of the whole "immersion" thing.
  8. Is this just an Intel based phenomenon, or are there AMD equivalents?
  9. I have to run with Motion Smoothing off as well. With it on I get all sorts of spikes in frame time and fps jumps all around from 40 to 60, and stuttering. With it off I get a steady 60 fps (40 fps down low over buildings on the Channel).
  10. Follow this link, it will give you step by step instructions. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/support/faq/709/
  11. No need to shout, I'm just passing along info. My friend had the same issue last night with his G2 after the update. The above clean and install process worked for him and he was able to fly immediately after applying the clean and repair. Good luck.
  12. Saw that article...I will be keeping my eye on it! Very happy with my Index and have high hopes for the next iteration.
  13. I run my Index with Motion Smoothing off with fps around 60 (40 low over a crowded city). If it is on fps jump from 40's to 60's and worse if flying low over a city. A quick look at fpsVR shows all sorts of spikes I'm both gpu and cpu frame times vs smoothish frame times with MS off.
  14. My friend had the same issue last night. Clean and Repair worked for him. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/support/faq/709/
  15. Nope nothing extra, too lazy to do per game settings.
  16. Here are my settings for SteamVR, DCS, and I've read a few things that under volting the 6900xt might be best for performance, so I've been playing with the Automatic Under volt preset. I get a pretty solid 60fps unless I'm flying low over a city, then I get a steady 40 fps. Settings are in the Spoiler tags... Hope those help you out
  17. With the exception of the 6900xt, our systems are a bit different, but here are a few of the settings I've found useful in the AMD Adrenaline software. First like I said before, enable "RAGE MODE" in the Tuning section of the Performance tab. The only settings inside Adrenaline that I have turned on are Radeon Imade Sharpening 80% Radeon Enhanced Sync That's it. I do suggest running some tests on the other options, but for me these two work. The only other thing I've noticed with DCS is that it doesn't seem to like the Adrenaline screen open while the game is running. I get all sorts of odd behavior, lock ups and crashes.
  18. Hey @dburne welcome to the Index family! I've read a bunch of your threads, so I know you're not new to the VR thing. Please forgive me if I over state the obvious. If you haven't already, turn off BLOOM in the DCS VR Tab. This made a world of difference for me visually in game and should help with some of the shimmer. If you still have too many jaggies shimmering then add the MSAA x2 (or which ever Anti-aliasing method you prefer). Since you have no issues with locking frames at 45 fps, set the REFRESH RATE in SteamVR to 90 and crank up the SS (I see you went as far as 220%, but I think your rig will do 250% or even 300% without an issue and still hit your sweet spot of 45fps). Does Nvidia play well with MOTION SMOOTHING? I'm running an 6900xt and found that on an AMD card turning off MOTION SMOOTHING really helped with ghosting, as some folks have reported that AMD cards do not play well with it.
  19. Using a 6900xt and 5800x. I'll write more after I get home tonight, but if you don't plan to manually OC the card, be sure to set your 6900xt to Rage Mode.
  20. I'm running an Index, so YMMV... There us a setting in SteamVR called Advanced Supersample Filtering, I just recently turned it off and my ghosting disappeared. Not sure if it's an option for the G2, but if it is give it a shot.
  21. "Advanced Supersample Filtering" is a setting in the Advanced Video Settings in SteamVR. If you are experiencing blurry or double vision on moving aircraft, try turning this off. I disabled this setting and it made a huge difference. One note is that you may see some shimmering on some objects that have jaggies. As always YMMV. I am running an Index.
  22. @BIGNEWY please let us know if this is an intended side effect of the new Cloud Tech or not. If you need some more or different info, please let me know, I will do my best to provide what you need. Thank you to you and the team for all of your hard work.
