  1. I flip between iRacing / MSFS / DCS all the time for months on end sometimes without playing one or the other maybe even up to a year if I'm busy. Couldn't imagine selling all my fanatec wheels and DD's or winwing stuff every time I didn't play the game for a few months. I find that bizarre.
  2. Just out of curiosity, what problems did you have with the finger lift kit. I prefer the throttle with the kit as I like the fuel-cut off to idle option.
  3. Since your response has absolutely nothing to do with the context of my quote I suspect you are correct.
  4. Yes please.... this thing is awesome.
  5. I bought mine all together, orion 2 hotas max kit. It didn't come pre-assembled (shaker module etc..) but I had zero issues. It was just a plug and two screws. Haven't had any trouble with my setup since purchase (2 months now) and a lot of flight hours. Personally, I think you'd be hard pressed to find a better stick. I'm not aware of any stick that has as many bindings as this one which is nice since I'm still running out of bindings that I'd like to add to the stick and use modifiers on both the throttle and stick to double my bindings. I couldn't imagine going back to less bindings now.
  6. I didn't say I didn't see the logic for the developer. That part is apparent. You can't really compare crowd funding a product to pre-ordering a finished product.
  7. Personally I'd wait for the x3D versions. They're right around the corner.
  8. 4090 hands down. 3090 (ti) if you can't.
  9. This has been driving me nuts. Just ran into this.
  10. Thanks so much Flappie. I had a feeling it was something to do with bindings. (Thought it was the fuel cutoff binding playing tricks)
  11. all yes, remember I can start the BS3 no problem. Even went back to the BS2 training tutorial to see what I'm missing. All good except it won't start. batteries and systems all work, just when pressing start button on LH nothing happens.
  12. Not sure what I'm doing wrong, haven't flown the BS in a while so I jumped in to finish the campaigns hopefully in time for some BS3 campaigns. Won't start after flipping Left engine fuel on and clicking start... nothing happens. won't cold start in training tutorial or instant action. Exact same procedure works fine in BS3 module so my procedure seems to work in BS3, just not BS2.
  13. NASA did.
  14. just struck me strange to pre-order an item that can't be out of stock. I own almost all the modules and I don't ever remember a pre-order situation but I do come and go from DCS so many may have happened during my absence.
  15. more discount than early access?
  16. Forgive me if I fail to see the logic behind a pre-order piece of software. What am I missing unless the pre-orders are used to fund the project. Pre-orders are a thing to ensure you get a piece of the available stock on the immediate release of a physical product. If you can just purchase the item upon release whenever you like, what is the point in pre-ordering it?
  17. One could argue that there are no longer a need for single seat fighters as engagements would typically happen BVR and having a WSO and Pilot make the platform able to engage multiple targets more easily. As we advance further, there will be zero seats.
  18. Please get the secretary to immediately start working on vulkan engine and dlss. I'm guessing that all available resources (all members of the graphics engine team) are already all working on that project.
  19. I also find it strange. My familiarity with the su-25 does not guarantee I have the same with the T variant, nor does it guarantee that my 25-t is setup. I found this thread for searching for the same thing. I found it strange. Still find it strange. I'm flying a non T campaign.
  20. Don't get me wrong, I've enjoyed my few sessions on Enigma's server, I just find it difficult to play most of the time as I can't pause the mission. Its the biggest problem that was immediately apparent when I first jumped online. < wife walks into the room and wants to talk about whatever it is she's mulling over and unlike a mission where I can pause and give her 5 minutes, I start panicking because I'm flying an su-25 on an ingress to industrial at 20m above sea level with no autopilot.
  21. When I started playing lomac and then flaming cliffs and bs1 I was much younger and had all the time in the world to hop on a MP server. Now, although I do find the time to play, I also have the option of pausing when one of the other 6 members of my family have an "emergency". < about every 30 minutes or so if I'm lucky. Campaigns give me the option to pause and come back (sometimes hours later) to a session. Secondly, I'm coming at DCS from a different perspective than some I'm guessing. I've played lots of MP games over the years (FPS's for example) and enjoyed online play more than anything. DCS however was never viewed in that regard from me. I had a PPL and flew gliders when I was younger and have always had a huge interest in all things aviation. DCS for me was sort of like a history book. Instead of reading about the A-10 (as I did a lot as a kid) and other military aircraft, DCS allowed me to dive into the systems. I enjoyed DCS purely from a systems learning perspective. I've read more than half of the manuals (even the giant ones) of the 30 modules I own and once I start one I usually can't put it down. Then I like learning the systems in cockpit until I know every nuance of the real aircraft and how it relates to DCS. Then the flight characteristics etc... In fact even single player campaigns were secondary to the Aircraft themselves for me. I never really looked at DCS as a MP game from the get go. It was just a way for me to experience and learn about military aircraft in a different way. There is no better way to fly DCS than MP, for you. I just started Enigmas server and am enjoying it, but it will hardly replace what brought me to DCS in the first place. It will just be another reason to boot it up for some change from the norm.
  22. Well nuance in language across regions worldwide can be complex which is why I gave you the benefit of the doubt. No harm done. In Canada It would be hard to interpret that without some form of sarcasm "bud" meaning "not bud". Such is the nature of forums where everything is interpreted with a little more emphasis than intended. no worries. I misread the intent of the question myself.
  23. Wasn't knocking your guide. I understand where you are coming from. It the same reason my first response is "did you restart your computer" when the secretary calls. Unfortunately to cover all your basis you must be comprehensive. The flip side of that is that some users can't see the tree for the forest and think the entire thing is too complex to integrate when in fact its very simple. Feature creep applies to documentation more than anything.
  24. Well for some perspective since you are fairly new to the community, LOMAC is probably around 20 years old. Most of the long time community users here came from a single player environment and that is how they play. MP is sort of the new kid on the block from a historical perspective. I've never been interested personally. They dynamic campaigns kind of change this for me though.
  25. no portion of DCS is changed. You are just switching the compositor from steam vr to openxr with that file. Not sure what undertone "bud" has when my original post was to help you, but I'll chalk it up to me reading to far into it. I'm a developer by trade (over 30 years). My advice to you is to take these "guides" with a grain of salt. They are designed for users with zero experience and do not want to hear all the complaints from users who can't get it working. "fresh install" nonsense is to ensure everyone is starting from the same slate. nothing more, and nothing to do with openxr requirements. Have a good day.
