  1. If I get time I'll try this tonight. However I have one question after going back through 5 to 6 pages. how is everyone comparing results if common testing specs/settings aren't listed first? Are people running this test with HDR On or Off ?

  4. My understanding though is the 64 versions is still a 32bit application compatible with 64 OS. So it has the same memory issues, etc as the 32bit version. I hope the 64 application is released very soon :)
  5. Slightly offtopic but Im curious what vram support DCS is supporting if at all, if theres a switch or something. Or should i ask how its utilised. I dont understand why in game when i had the 7970 3GB card the fps counter showed 2674GB vram being used which made sense. But with the Titan, its showing only 1674 roughly which doesnt make sense, but in gpu-z program it shows oveer 4GB being used... Odd.
  6. As Nate mentioned disbaling TSSAA fixes the clutter/trees problem, I can max the slider out now and see no impact on frames (well maybe 1fps). What I need to do next is I think disable the page file. i checked tonight and see that windows has assigned a 16GB pagefile, what the f... I was reading that with having plenty of ram (16GB here), and u sing an SSD drive I should set this to minimum or disable it completely. Will try that tommorow night.

  8. I noticed this too last night, but it seems to occur when the canopy was closed. Not sure if this might be an internal caopy reflection erature that was casuing it. Do you use HDR and can you test with canopy open and closed?
  9. Thanks, it did indeed it appears. I've turned this off and have no issues now with clutter/bushes maxed. though I kept it at 900m for now. I tried 3 just now, couldnt really tell much difference :cry: Oh HDR looks so good in Cold colours with explosions. If I use HDR with 2xMSAA it can fluctuate between 26-31 and drop a bit more when lots of action is happening or nightvision, cockpit floodlights are on at night. I'm wondering how I can improve that. Without HDR, 29-31, stays solid between those fps. With HDR and 2xMSAA; GPU-Z showed 4624MB video mem being used. Ouch.
  10. Gotta admit, it's been a while since I used Nvidia. Still working out all the settings and what they do. Attached a screen shot of settings.   11. Yeah it did. I gotta go back and check again now Ive made some changes. W7 64 Ultimate. DCS Settings are finicky with Multimonitors; Ive for now had to set to MSAAx4 and HDR Off. I've locked it down to 30fps constant. So far no drops and stable locked 30fps always, which so far is quite pleasing.
  12. Interesting, so I can see where the 150km can come into play. The Litening has a published 130-140km range http://www.northropgrumman.com/Capabilities/LITENING/Documents/litening.pdf I have a Titan now with 6GB of memory; and noticed in GPU-Z that 4.5GB memory is roughly being used. Strange hwoever is in game the fps info shows only 1.5GB memory being used. When I had the 7970 3GB, it showed 2674GB being used. I dont know how clutter/bushes operates; but if I max this slider, it becomes a slide show. Not sure how people are maxing this out. I wonder if EDGE functions are running already. I noticed some some files and script lines where it's mentioned.

Trying to get the most out of the sim and performance, Im now looking at the adjustments of Preload radius, tree preload, visibility etc. What settings do most people use? 150000 = 150kms , which is over 492000 feet. Do we really need to preload this far ahead? Also accounting for visibility range, how is this calculated? If good visibility is 50km ? Than preload radius max of 150kms is a bit excessive and not needed? If theres a sticky post somewhere to optimised high scenes also?

  17. Ok interesting, I still havent noticed them firing on my A-10C flying low under 1000 feet at 240'ish IAS. Maybe conditions don't meet the action triggers.

  19. Cool. Yeah that would be good, if the protect zone could be a vehicle or null zone(just the area they occupy). I'm yet to start looking at the new editor, maybe I should spend some time this long weekend to have a read and check it out. I might be wrong here, but lets say AK47 has a rough effective range of 300-400 meters. So a threat bubble of say 1000-1300 feet at 'x'- amount of seconds detectable zone might work ? For instance a fast mover might be a second or less; but a slow mover would become a probable duck hunt. Visibility conditions?
  20. It's been mentioned before that infantry can be quite prone to gun runs and rocket salvos and could be improved. I believe the modelling has them affected by an explosion radius where they'd be killed by explosion shockwaves? Does this account for vehicle explosions also? Be nice to have a random bubble kill radius from light armour or truck explosions from random shrapnel damage? I was also wondering often why infantry just sit there and pose no real threat when flying low. Surely they would be a threat and fire at threat aircraft at certain altitudes if given the opportunity and courage to do so to protect assets? If not accounted for, would people like to see infantry a threat to aircraft at certain altitudes and distances(bubble) if possible? Or is this already modelled and I'm just not flying slow enough ? Can KA50 pilots comment? In the hard instant action A10C mission; the second group targets have AAA, SAM, trucks and infantry. But the infantry just crouch or stand there and are no real threat at all when flying low and overhead. or the instant action missions have them set at below average skill levels? Feel free to correct me if required :) :joystick:
  21. Isn't there an error dump log file that pinpoints errors being encountered in game; if it is? Is everyone testing with HDR on or off? I saw issues with HDR on; turned it off, and havent really noticed anything too dramatic?
  22. Hey Slayer, How it the frame stutter over all monitors? There were some interesting reads on frame time latency at max resolutions and kepler driver engineering. Also is there a way you can view whether all VRAM is being used?

Sitting on the apron at Lochini with the canopy open, Im watching someone taxi over my right shoulder about 80 meters away, and then I look over my left shoulder the sound of the guys A10C taxi'ing is louder from the left rear speakers and sounds like its from the wrong direction. I should be hearing the sound louder from the right speakers where the guy is tax'ing over my right shoulder... Anyone noticed this, is this a bug? An no my speakers aren't aligned incorrectly.

  25. Yes, aero always enabled. Fullscreen in DCS, disable aero not checked. It's great to be able to use instruments, but killing the fps as much as it does it's preferable without :( I guess I could try run it on my other 7450 card but not sure if that'd help, have to try later on.
