DTC for DCS - new version 7.2.0 - Apache added
SFJackBauer replied to SFJackBauer's topic in DCS Modding
The F-18 has its own peculiarities - a different coordinate format, different radios, can have multiple waypoint sequences, MFD page setup is different... It can be done, but I dont know when I will have time for it. Different screens would have to be designed for it. -

@RogueSqdn Got it, I fixed it. Check latest releases: https://github.com/the-paid-actor/dcs-dtc/releases -
DTC for DCS - new version 7.2.0 - Apache added
SFJackBauer replied to SFJackBauer's topic in DCS Modding
Sure. On Waypoints screen, on "Add Waypoint" you should see a "Start capture" button. If you are on the jet or on the F10 screen, once you click it you should see the coordinate on the textbox there. On the "Upload to Jet" screen, you can change so that it inputs the waypoints into the jet into a offset. Default is 1 through 20, but lets say you have 5 waypoints already on the jet you dont want to overwrite... you can put in 6 in the "Into" field and it will skip the first 5. But beware there was a bug there, I fixed in the latest version (1.1.0). No problem man! I fixed this in the latest version (1.1.0). -
DTC for DCS - new version 7.2.0 - Apache added

Interesting. My Windows Defender does not flags it, but other people on Reddit also reported it, and VirusTotal.com reports a malware on 4 out of 67 engines. Keep in mind this executable was produced by a build on Github itself. If Github is producing malware then, well, god have mercy on us all This type of false positive happens on a lot of apps. I will see if I can maybe digitally sign it so it gets recognized as a good guy... I'm more of a web developer myself, not a desktop app one. But if you can, you can always download the code from github and compile it yourself. -
DTC for DCS (featuring the Viper, Hornet, Strike Eagle and Apache) Current version -7.2.0 This is a mod for DCS that works as a DTC (Data Cartridge) for the F-16, F/A-18, F-15E and Apache - Create and recall presets for each mission / server you fly, or however you want to organize your settings. These are saved in the DCS-DTC folder under Documents - Upload the settings from a preset to the aircraft - Enables you to share and receive settings from other people using this mod, either by file or clipboard - Allows capturing a waypoint coordinate using the F10 view in DCS, or a "markpoint" by flying over a point in the map. Download from Github: https://github.com/the-paid-actor/dcs-dtc/releases Instructions: https://github.com/the-paid-actor/dcs-dtc/blob/main/README.md Discord Channel: https://discord.gg/saCACg99EZ Thanks to @FireNLD for kindly contributing with the coordinates of airbases for all maps. Thanks to @Fuzzel, PieterL1976, mzltn, supahfly27 and Tronald for contributing to the code. Thanks to @Comrade Doge for allowing me to use a portion of his .lua file from his mod TheWay

Wags like to drop easter eggs on his videos. Lots of people are anticipating the radar rework on the Viper to lower its detection range, but I saw nobody pick that up in that video. People noticed the RWR on HMCS and the reworked flame for the missile, but not that. Its not even a trade. If its realistic then it should be done, plain and simple. I don't get that fixation with detection range when, as you said, 40nm is still more than enough for the 120. Long range detection is in the realm of interceptors and AWACS, not tactical aircraft like the F-16. But I digress. Sorry for the off-topic on the thread.

Even if that was true (which I think its an insane supposition given that it would make the 3D model of the plane or missiles look completely wrong when doing flight maneuvering...), what that has anything to do with Xavven is doing? He is looking at the geometric relationship between the rocket exhaust bell and the plane body. No EoM needed.
-
I just noticed in that video that the 29s only appeared on the radar scope at 40nm ish....
-
What is that supposed to mean? Its a 3D accurate representation of the real plane. Are you implying the pylons, horiz stab or something else in the DCS model is wrong in relation to the real plane? BTW the Hornet is similar in regard to the inner stations - and the stores are mounted in a downward angle so the exhaust is even closer to the stab

You will be able to restrict each rack combination, as the picture that NineLine posted on Reddit:

Wait a second, no no no. I refuse to wear that. Do not generalize. Only because a handful of people in this thread showed themselves to be devoid of common sense and like to argue as a competitive sport, does not mean everyone in the community is to be painted with the same paint. Seriously, grow the hell up. I don't care if you are civilian or in the military, if you act immature I call you immature, plain and simple. Even when I was 18yrs old I was not as bad as some of the people in this thread... And the UI they did is completely sufficient. That is not the LOADOUT, that is the ALLOWED LOADOUTS. Which means even if there is a green checkmark there, you would have to actually use a loadout that have the weapon there, or load the weapon there by yourself. So I do not see any confusion as you seem to be implying. On top of that, the feature allows people in missions to simulate era-specific allowed loadouts. So when you say "restricting a 120 is not the same as a HARM", for who? To add the specifics of each weapon for each era and its impact on allowing / restricting, THAT would overcomplicate the UI. You already have that info outside the sim.

This is actually a feature of the Viper. You can leave, as an example, NAV mode with RWS 120 azimuth, A/A with RWS 60 degree azimuth and MSL Override with TWS 60 degree, thus allowing you to quickly change the radar modes without actually fiddling with the settings separately. But if you don't want to do that, then just set them to the same settings before flying, or just stick to the same mode all the time. What I personally do is: - Never use NAV mode for anything except landing, takeoff and noncombat cruising. - Never use A/A mode. At all. I stay in A2G mode if doing that, and then I use the MSL OVERRIDE for BVR and DGFT for close combat. It reverts to the original setting you had before bugging the target. What I did is to bind the MFD button that controls azimuth and radar modes to a HOTAS function, in addition to the buttons that controls radar range and HSD range. Works really well. I also like having the HSD visible in all modes. It is possible that this kind of customization will be added once the DTC (data cartridge) functionality gets implemented, but we will only knows when its announced. What I ended up doing is I modified the auto-start script for the F-16 to, not only do the exact auto-start routine I am used to, it also sets up all my MFDs for all modes and even the radio settings to my liking.

First, didnt waited for the release indicator to drop before releasing weapons. Then, said it was lasing, but laser is not armed and / or flashing. Said that watched a couple of tutorials. Either the tutorials you watched are really bad, or you haven't really paid attention to them. My 2 cents: RTFM.

cannot reproduce Phoenix fired by AI doesn't show on RWR
SFJackBauer posted a topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
So I was flying on Hoggit and people were complaining being shot by "invisible" missiles fired by AI Tomcats. Initially I discarded that to human error (leaving RWR off), unawareness of RWR blind spots or just unawareness in general. Until it happened to me. The Tomcat shot at ~20 miles and immediately turned around to evade an icoming 120C. The Phoenix still tracked and hit me with no RWR indication whatsoever except for the initial STT launch indication which quickly ended as the Tomcat did a 180. Problem is, I can't reproduce it on single-player. No matter what I do the Tomcat launches in STT but, once it turns around to evade an incoming missile the Phoenix goes dumb. I tried engagement ranges between 40 to 15 miles with the same result. I have the MP track and the TacView from the Hoggit session, but the MP track is large (172MB). I have no clue how to run a MP session so if someone could try to replicate it, or at least help me it would be appreciated. People also say that it happens in the Hornet, but I was flying the Viper. I wonder if this should be fixed on the Viper side or on HB side? -
Yes. TMS Down is like the restart button on the PC.

Do you know how to put together a mission in the Mission Editor? Just put a tank in a flat spot somewhere, put your F-16 and load it out with the TGP and Mavs, put a waypoint over the tank and hit Fly. Do the targeting thing in the mission, end the mission. In the Debriefing screen you can save it to a replay file. Upload the replay file here.

I can't reproduce. Here's what I am doing: - TGP on left MFD - Maverich on right MFD - Set Maverick as PRE - TGP as SOI - Point TGP in general area location - Maverick as SOI - Slew and lock target with Maverick with TMS up - TMS Down, unlock target with Maverick. Mav still SOI and TGP does not move. Can TMS Up to lock again and TMS Down to unlock several times. You don't even need to boresight. Just point the TGP in the general direction, switch SOI to Mav, find target, slew and lock. Boresighting is not 100% required, it just saves you a bit of time. Maybe your Mav mode is not set as PRE. In VIS mode, if you TMS Down SOI goes to HUD. Even then, TGP does not move. So I'd suggest you record a small track and post it so we can see exactly what you are doing. Bear in mind I use Mavericks almost every time I fly and they work 100% of the time.

Whenever you set custom views, a file named SnapViews.lua is overwritten in C:\Users\<YOUR USERNAME>\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Config\View. To reset to the default views, delete that file and it will be re-created once DCS opens again.

3:00 you can see the direct hit on the tank turret in the foreground. But thats a very small shaped charge. Besides, these tanks are empty of anything flammable.

Just to expand on what Florence said, It looks like the OP is still staring at the INS page. Once you set INS to NAV, dobber left to exit the page then press 4 on the ICP to go directly to STPT page, then change the coords in there.

Yes I have. Actually I have been PVPin in DCS since I bought Flamming Cliffs 2, 11 years ago. I still have the receipt on my email. So yes, it is entirely possible to either: - Maintain situational awareness in complex situations. You have a brain inside your skull. Use it. If your jet also helps you on that, great. - If you can't maintain it, then... bug out. You are not forced to enter a fight. But I get why servers like Growling Sidewinder encourages that... its a mess sometimes. But the jet was not designed with the Growling Sidewinder server in mind. It was designed to be piloted by someone who understand its systems. If someone chooses to enter a fight he doesn't understand and then makes a friendly-fire mistake, he should not blame anyone but himself.
