Changing the dispense mode doesn't change anything, but apparently you can get flares at 2 sec intervals by selecting F (flares) instead of R+F (chaff + flares). null

Anti ship missile disappear if the plane is shot down
Machalot replied to sarumax's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
I have no inside info, sorry. -
Wingman Aircraft Kneeboard Use Triggers Crash to Desktop
Machalot replied to Hinkey's topic in Bugs and Problems
This seems like the same bug reported in the public Discord. Is this happening on dynamic spawn only, or also on the normal kind of spawn? -
Thanks, this has also been reported in the public Discord channel and reproduced.

I'm glad you reached out and got a reply, but still the best way to get other people to join your suggestion is the discord server.

There's an official suggestions channel on their public discord server.

Bx7 is still the turning point, and you can move it from its default position to make the missile turn. 60 / 4 = 15 km
-
You can still move Bx6,7,8,9 as usual with T1, slew, TV. This update only changes their default positions relative to Bx8. (Only applies when you create Bx8 in flight, not preplanned Bx8.)

Feedback Thread - Viggen Update July 11th 2024
Machalot replied to IronMike's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
Hm, I wonder if I missed that or looked at an old version. I'm traveling at the moment so I'll have to check when I get home. Does it say anything about manually cycling through the runways in BANA-GRÄNS? -
Feedback Thread - Viggen Update July 11th 2024
Machalot replied to IronMike's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
TL; DR: If you initialize your navigation system outside a 15 deg heading window around the selected runway heading (BANA), it will automatically search through all the other runway headings at the selected airfield to find a heading match withing 15 deg and use that for gyro alignment. Full story: When you takeoff, there are a couple ways the CK37 computer can initialize your navigation heading (analogous to INS alignment in other jets). This is covered on manual p. 132. 1.(a) Normally it calculates the jet's average heading during the takeoff roll and assumes that is equal to the stored heading of the primary runway (BANA-GRÄNS on the CK37), then adjusts the gyro alignment accordingly. 1.(b) You can optionally force gyro alignment to the currently selected runway heading by pressing the REFERENCE button, which bypasses the heading-averaging method described above. 2. If the gyro's measured heading is more than 15 deg off the stored runway heading, the CK37 checks the reciprocal heading and aligns to that. (Best practice is to cycle to the reciprocal runway heading yourself using UT, BANA-GRÄNS + LS.) If the reciprocal is also more than 15 deg off, it activates the NAV SYST warning lamp and your navigation state will be highly degraded or flat out wrong. What changed: Before the current patch, the CK37 only stored the primary and reciprocal runway headings for each airfield. Now after the recent patch, it knows and can search all runways and reciprocal runways for the selected airfield. You can cycle through them using UT, BANA-GRÄNS + LS. @TOViper I don't know if the manual adequately covers this. I'm looking at p. 253 which covers the BANA-GRÄNS features and it only talks about cycling to alternate runway headings for landing waypoints, not for takeoff. It also is completely unmentioned on p. 132 which is about setting the initial course. -
Can you record a track file?

Viggen HUD in NAV mode, flickering short lines question
Machalot replied to virgo47's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
Looks like a glitch to me. I've never seen that before. -
Earlier this year they hired a Viggen-dedicated dev. I can attest he's been hard at work on a bunch of great updates! https://forum.dcs.world/topic/344076-feedback-thread-viggen-patch-feb-22nd-2024/

A fix is in work. @MYSE1234

Unfortunately this broke in the same patch when the F-4 came out. A fix is in work.

I can't think of a way for the waypoint data to get from the F10 map markers into his CK37 unless he selects your cartridge and loads it. The F10 points get translated into a text file stored on your local hard drive, and you have to tell the game to read that specific file. What do you mean by Did he look at the CK37 REF-LOLA/UT values, and they matched your cartridge instead of what he entered via REF-LOLA/IN?

This will be fixed in an upcoming patch.

Anti ship missile disappear if the plane is shot down
Machalot replied to sarumax's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
My understanding is that it's a limitation in the DCS missile model. The capabilities of the RB04 and especially the RB15 are not supported by the available DCS missile models. So HB models it as a fake laser-guided missile and they manipulate the laser spot to make the missile to maneuver according to the special modes. So if the aircraft dies, the laser spot disappears and the missile becomes useless. Somedaytm after ED implements an advanced missile model that supports all the stuff, they can transition the RB04 and RB15 to use that, and this issue will go away. -
I guess this didn't happen since there was no Viggen patch?

Compasses showing true heading instead of magnetic
Machalot replied to Nealius's topic in Bugs and Problems
DCS currently models a single runway heading for each airfield, and it does check the reciprocal heading. It doesn't check any other runways though. -
There are two ways to reset the directional gyro heading. If you don't press the Reference button, the directional gyro is aligned to the average heading of your takeoff roll. If you press the Reference button it aligns immediately and skips the other method I just mentioned. Either way, your directional gyro gets realigned every time you takeoff. Note that the above depends on you setting master mode BER after you land and when you are taxiing around, and setting it back to NAV when you are nearly aligned with the runway. Also set LS as your destination, and make sure its REF code is set for the correct airfield if you have landed somewhere else. nullnullnull

Radar Mode A2 doesn't work (MT+ST) (when no waypoint is available)
Machalot replied to TOViper's topic in Bugs and Problems
When you're in terrain avoidance mode, A2 does move with the aircraft and ignores the waypoints.
