  1. It's not MiG-21 you're talking about. It would be any IV+ generation fighter with modern FOX-3 rockets. Not a 50 year old plane armed with FOX-1.
  2. Thank you. Correction base on sources is always much appreciated. It seems to me that F86F - the one we have in DCS came into service even later? So it would be fair if MiG-15bis would be equipped in these device Also I read somewhere that these version was used exclusively in Europe. Can someone check these info? Actually you made me want to jump again into F86... Some friend of mine said that it's a WWII with a jet engine. I think 6 moths campaign over Korea would be fine...
  3. There's nothing you can buy. The sources you need are available, but hard to get. I was going to trade mine for somebodys daughter/sister
  4. Wrong. Most populated server in DCS is Enigma. MiG-21+MiG-19 vs F-5E+AJS37. No F18, no F16, no F15, no Fox3. Only very limited MiG-29 and F-14 with fox1. Learn to fly. For MiG-21 you need a pilot. For F-16 an IT is enough...
  5. Why? Why do we need better 21 ?? Best dogfights are in early '60 until late '80. R27 ?? I couldn't care less. I'd buy any MiG21, but these one is a last on my list. Besides... Where do you want fo use it? It's to modern for Enigma, so... Blueflag Modern? Versus ... F16CM armed with AIM-120C? I'd rather wait for F4E from Heatblur. If we became an MF from Letherneck it would be a dream team
  6. Compare your 12,7mm with a real ones. Yours are much too powerful. You created F86 armed with M61 Vulcan... To become a real devastating effects US Pilots had to came real close. No chance for Head on kill, or brilliant win in scissors... Also effectivness of high "G" leading bursts is questionable. There's no single case of success from such situation in 14 min. of guncams. Stick to the facts Gents, please. And facts aren't favoring 12,7mm. Only some fairy - tales. As for superior (quote) "radar gunsight". MiG-15bis in Korea from 1952 had Syrena 1 onboard (not modelled in DCS). Simple device making a noise always when wavelength of rangefinder from F86 was detected in rear hemisphere. Check my info if you like.
  7. From start to end I refer to main subject. Hitting power. As you mentioned trajectory is different problem. It's just some of my adversaries here mixed both subjects. I refered from the beginnig to Ghost 79 point 2: "2) bullet damage, today i hit a mig15 81 times and the thing still kept flying! Later i managed 102 hits (including 48 while the mig was on the ground) and it still lived!!!! What are these bullets? Blanks!" It's all about hitting power from start to end. Actually TLTeo confused both subjects. It's 8-th post from the top... As for Hitting boxes in MiG engine. Just one hit is enough to seriously reduce thrust. Good burst from 300m is always effective. In many cases pilot is dead or plane burns.
  8. ... Basicly there are 2 types of teachers 1-st one "Look how easy it is" 2-nd one "Look how brilliant I am"
  9. -Fix sound bug in T55, and some strange anomaly in T55 ride on Caucasus map. (Sometimes it stops for no reason while driving on road) -Make columns actually able to travel faster than 30 kph. Currently if you set column of BRDM + UAZ + some Ural trucks and give them 60kph they will lost all the waypoints and column will fell into uncommandable chaos.
  10. MiG 15 burns it's internal tank in 45 min. no matter if you're iddle on ground , cruising middle- low alt, or full throttle on 12 000m. It's 45 min. 2x400 L tank shall give you more time, but it's usabble only in non combat flight. In combat , when you're gaining alt you burn up aux tanks in no time during climb. If you stick to low alt, you may enjoy external for longer, but in a combat you burn fuel much faster. In the end without external it's ~ 45min. and ~ 60 min. with 2x400L external. (In combat mission)
  11. Hispano or NS or any other automatic cannon take their hitting power not only from greater kinetic energy, but what's more important from HE charge. 12,7mm bullet has nothing but kinetic energy. If that's gone they're useless. And for comparable hitting power: 12,7mm with 42g bullet gives 18,050 J Kinetic Energy 23mm with 172g bullet from NS -23 gives 47,900 J Kinetic Energy 37mm HEI-T from N37 (~500g bullet mass) gives about 80 000 J Kinetic Energy So... There you have your hitting power. Yes it's comparable. Like M1A2 Abrams against IS-2, or T-80U against M4A1 Sherman Tank... You may compare them as well ... Stick to the facts gents. It's not War Thunder
  12. Fly in pair with your wingman. Fast in straight lines. MiG15 will be defenseless... He has just 45 min of fuel, so he quickly start to think about coming back... Then he's yours. AiM-9B is allways faster... ...I never exceed 65min of flight time no matter what drop-tank I took...
  13. It does a lot and it's well explained in "Fighter Pilot Tactics" by Mike Spick or you may try "Fighter Combat" by R. Shaw. They both mentioned it. Also both wrote about weak performance of 12,7mm in Korea
  14. Yeessss... more MiG-21 varints I buy all of them!!!! Yeeeessss! MF, SM, SMT do it!!!
  15. As people said. '69-'72 there is no MiG21bis as far as I remember. So you may simulate some older versions... MF or M maybe? As for a rockets. R13M was brand new design, and it was "just introduced" , there is however a catch. Russians used to press a brand new equipment first into first line regiments. (It was common in whole Warsaw Pact) - they were sending older equipment to second line units. If you're simulating some engagement - probably you're dealing with a front-line unit. Better equipped and trained.
  16. To be exact keep it always below 1350 KIAS
  17. There is a truth in these sentence... It was always harder to hit F5E when he didn't saw me... I could never catch up. Only after he saw me I could get my guns on him
  18. It's not a BUG. (However I can imagine how frustrating it may be). Think that you're shooting at 0,7-0,8Ma. So a total velocity of Bullets is a lot bigger. Looks good ? No... most of the time your target also flies 0,7-0,8 Ma. So... Comparing to the ground situation you're shooting like upwind ... quite strong one. On ground M2HB is very powerful. In the Air it's quite different story. In '60 and '70 even canons were removed from planes, since relative speed of bullets seems to be slow compared to speed of target... There was accident when F11 shoot himself down with his own burst. Problem you had was very common to US pilots in Korea war. It's good to read some memories. US pilots complained a lot about 12,7mm guns...
  19. It's totally different Flight Model. But in these case as MiG-15 user ... AI (IMO) is a lot easier to dogfight as a real player. It's loosing energy a lot faster. In editor I can easily dogfight alone 8xF86F on Ace lvl. Human players are totally different, and dogfight can be actually very frustrating, since Sabre is in most cases faster. F5E (AI or not) is an easy prey for experienced MiG-15bis pilot. (IMO) You accelerate bit better, you are a lot faster, but you climb similar, turn worse except of roll - so you may try scissors, but it's risky anyway.
  20. I use Thrustmaster Warthog, but software - Target GUI is I think the same? If that's so - I can try to guide you how to make your own profile. I'm sure it will work then. It's as easy... Do you have Discord?
  21. A Roarrrrrring Gooooood mooooorniiiiing DCS and especially MiG-21 maniacs! Plesase support me on these wisch: MiG-21bis that we have in DCS is equipped in RSBN/PRMG nav system. As we know the system is mobile - it's installed on URAL trucks and can be moved to a random location by road / offroad. So my wisch would be "To have a mobile RSBN/PRMG system for MiG-21bis, L-39C / L-39ZA Albatros, Mi-24, MiG-29, Su25, Su27 in DCS!" These way t-offs and landings would be possible from random locations - even in heavy weather conditions. As we know Warsaw Pact Pilots used to systematically practice such operations. I would be more than happy having a possibility to recreate it in DCS Virtual World. With my best regards. 303_Kermit
  22. you need to set it up 1. Turn on. 2. Choose Active 3. Set Continuous or Impuls (Impuls make stronger noise, but are easier to filter out by modern radars.) In these mode program switch isn't active. In continuous you can choose program 1 if you fly solo, or program 2 if you fly a pair and you both has SPS. I'll ask about it more... I'll get you know I I found sth.
  23. I try to spam devs - so they remove at least the "dots" from the glass. I don't know why ED/ or Letherneck tries to make players life a misery by adding effects that 50% of players doesn't want to have
  24. Watch the film carefully, and expecially the second part where speed exceeds 700km/h. It's a Lim-2 with 2x400L aux tanks. Wings aren't bent after flight, and stick moves easily. Compare these 50 year old plane with DCS MiG15. Seems for me that acuracy of forces on the stick is nowhere near, or the pilot is Arnold Schwarzeneger. I love the part when pilot rolls left 270°, by 700km/h. In DCS by that speed MiG feels already "hard" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yw5cBohUs3U&t=566s
