I think, after many talks with the pilots of the 493rd SQ, who came to Poland in the nineties with visits to the 23 PLM (23rd Fighter Aviation Regiment flying on MiG-23ML) near Słupsk, that it was rather F-16, F-18 and all the rest have "magical" electronics that do not respond in any way DCS the real possibilities of these planes. Currently, the radar in the F-15C, when it comes to the possibilities and ranges of detecting various objects, depending on their size, flight altitude and speed, is the closest to reality. But well, ED rather castrates the parameters in this regard, so that such MiG / Su could initiate any fight than it reflects reality. This is one of the reasons why I fly the F-15C and not the blind F-16, F-18, etc. MiG-21 bis pilots claimed that their weak radar was able to detect a fighter-sized target (1980s-1990s) from a distance of about 80 km (~ 35-40 miles). Virtual pilot in DCS F-16/18, when do it without Datalink, be happy like a child When I showed the pilots of the 493rd, when they were in Redzikowo again after 1994, the Russian study on the F-15, in which the given wasmaximum possible detection range of the MiG-23/29 fighter from a distance of about 80 miles, they snorted with laughter: D That's it for the subject of "magic" electronics "in the F-15 in DCS;) I am not delusing myself I'll wait for the guys who create clickable cokpits for FC3 modules and that's rather all you can expect Anyway, I have everything on HOTAS anyway

I flew the F-16C about two years ago when there were periodic / holiday free test. Now you can "borrow" each test module at any time. Today, the F-16C is finally flying almost as it should, with most of the systems up and running. But it's not the F-15A / C;) Navy planes... I don't fly from any boat since I can fly from hard land - the navy and its machines have never excite me on. Anyway, I have entered the "eternal love" of USAF pilots for USNAVY pilots;) The F-15A / C is the only plane (and also the YF-23 outgoing before) with named "modern" planes, which seduced me some 40 years ago and that's how I stayed. And yes, I only fly the F-15C in DCS. I don't need anything else - well, maybe if someone tried to make a full-fidelity version it would be nice. I'm waiting for an "E" but only because of my "brand attachment". As I wrote - I will probably fly the Strike Eagle a bit, but still the BVR and the F-15C are the only things that amuse me. Besides, I think that if someone fly several modules "at a time", he will never master any of them perfectly.

Following the history of work on the F-15E, I start to wonder if someone made a mistake and "to be relase during of 2022" was not actually supposed to be realse during 3022 ...
-
I fly in the DCS only with the F-15C. When the F-15E comes out - I'll buy it, I'll fly - I'll play - and then I'll fly again "C": P Well, unless the ED castrates the C version from speed, radar parameters, then I will return to the good old F-15 Strike Eagle III from Microprose ... or Jane's : P

DCS takes the simulations too literally to be fun or practical.
Nahen replied to gotit's topic in New User Briefing Room
So much writing is not known about what ... The case is as simple as a wire ... If someone thinks that DCS (Digital Combat Simulator) is a game - instead of complaining about the degree of difficulty, etc., you should install a game in which you fly with airplanes not simulate, only playin. A lot of people wrote here that there are FC3 modules for such people. You're wrong, gentlemen. FC3 modules for someone who does not understand the basics of the behavior of an airplane "body" in airspace, who does not know what HSI is, who has no clue of how Doppler radar works, what it is and how ILS works, etc., are just as "difficult" "like those with clickable cockpits. And surely, sending such people to these "machines" does not change anything here. Either someone wants to FLY a virtual plane or wants to play an airplane game. If someone does not grasp this simple "truth" - does not understand its sense, then unfortunately DCS is not for him. Writing thousands of words to justify their ignorance in the field of aviation knowledge - especially the combat one - DCS - and forcibly proving that DCS is "too difficult" is nothing more than the hysterical crying of a child who does not understand that they ended up in a toy a battery, he will not play until dad / mom buys new ... Various people "play" with flight simulators. Some people look for the highest possible realism in them, from the use of systems in the cockpit to the construction of real cockpits. Others take pleasure in the fact that they can tear a virtual plane off the virtual ground and fly, fight and land with it. Some people want to feel like real pilots, others just want to play. But both of them, since they choose DCS, not AceCombat or World of Warbirds or War Thunder, means that they are looking for something more than just games in this game. Because even treating DCS only as a game, you have to accept its "otherness" - a simulation, not a substitute for something about airplanes. Finally, I will repeat - DCS is not at all difficult at the start - it is only very demanding. And thus, it is not for everyone - it is for people who want to devote their time and do it, without complaining that they have to devote so much time to it. In that respect, it's like a guy playing Counter Strike who comes up with the idea of "playing" ArmA III. The same type of whining;) -
Let me just say this - for me, only Air to Air flying counts. The F-15C is all I need. The F-15E, in spite of maintaining the full air combat capabilities of the "C" version, by, among other things, increasing the airframe weight and changing the air resistance coefficient by CFT tanks, is not a typical air superiority aircraft like the "C" version. The idea was to create a powerful strike machine that could defend itself, or that could fight its way through the air to its target. The fact of using the "C" version for the cover of the "E" version during the operation over Iraq proves one thing very clearly - it makes no sense to use the "E" version without CFT tanks - it is better to give them cover of the "C" version. Therefore, I do not see the point and do not need to beg for a removable CFT because it is not an air combat machine. And after removing the CFT, Eagles potential of ground strike drastically decreases - so I am absolutely in favor of CFT being permanent and that's it.
-
In addition for the public airshows, where, when and how many times a year do the F-15E fly without CFT? How often do they fly without CFT on combat missions?

About a dozen or so days when I enter any server, it does not matter how I set in the F-15C "receive mode" all the time I hear everything on the radio. queries to AWACS from other pilots, answers for them, AWACS keeps giving me BRA for everything that flies... It's a bit annoying already. Track will not do anything - when i'm enters on the slot, enter to the cockpit I turn on the power and the cacophony of messages begins. Its all.
-
One of the latest patch completely broke the possibility of turning off the limitation of radio messages in the FC3 modules. Setting any of the three filters: - player's communications, - player's communications + reports to plaer, - player's communications + reports to plaer + other aircrafts communications, gives nothing and the messages "bypass filters".
-
The F-15E is nothing more than the avionics-modified and reinforced F-15D airframe. He got the extras supporting the "communication between the pilot and the airframe", but he did not get anything more than a typical control system such as the f F-15C / D and sooner A / B. Only the mentioned Q, S, EX versions got FBW. The joke is that this plane in any of the versions does not need this system because from the beginning to the end it is an "aerodynamically stable" plane and thus from the beginning to the end it behaves like a typical aerodynamically flying structure with a constant center of gravity and stable system aerodynamic.

when did Radar get changed in this F-15C in FC3?
Nahen replied to Ramstein's topic in F-15C for DCS World
At the moment, the radar in the F-15C is OK. Targets the size of a Tu-95, Tu-160 bomber can be easily caught on the radar from a distance of 90-110 nM. Fighters, depending on the size, can be detected from a distance of <= 70 nM. In fact, each one can be detected and lock efficiently from a distance of about 50-60nM without any problems. -
We tried to change this distance - max is about 400 meters and nothing else in CTLD. I do not want to direct the pilot to the helicopter. I want to be able to decide where to leave it and from where to get it by the helicopter
-
Bad CrC Unfortunately, CSAR scripts have a very limited range of "picking up" a helicopter pilot. When it is impossible to land in a radius below 400 meters the pilot will not come to the helicopter. Cfrag Yes, you can move the pilot after ejecting, but unfortunately it has no meaning for the game world, let alone for helicopters and CSAR scripts. I do not think that such a problem would be the implementation of the possibility of "switching on" the "infantry M4" by the player at the moment when he wishes, and not automatically by the system at the ejecting point. I bet that nobody in ED wants to do it, and that's it. As for the "perception" of the game world and mood - I actually not run DCS and imagine that I am flying with my eyes closed while sitting at the grill ... but this is no fun.
-
Or something else, the moment of leaving the pilot's slot / server would place a character to be picked up by CSAR helicopters in the place of his last "stay". In such a situation, I parachute, I land, I go to a sensible place, I go to the spectator / I leave the server / I change the slot and at this point a "guy" appears in my last position to picked up. Only this.
-
Would it be a big problem to enable the incarnation of a catapulted pilot in the silhouette of an infantryman who is taken by CSAR helicopters? Many times the character appears in places from which, for example, it is difficult to pick it up at night with a CSAR helicopter. If it was possible to move this character, one could, for example, go out of the forest into a clearing, road or city, a helicopter could pick it up successfully. I don't require any more interactions, just the ability to move. Has anyone on yours team thought or is thinking about it?

If someone is enough for a car without a steering wheel and wheels, hmm not my busisnes...

They sell AV-8B, Mirage 2000C, MiG-19 and they have money too. In business, the only healthy rule is finish something and sell, not to do something endlessly to stretch on money. How many years have the F-15Es been doing this? Remind me? Have them do a pre-order and set a deadline. Then I will pay myself, provided that I can be sure that a fully-fledged 100% working module will come out within the given deadline. Then, when problems arise, let them refine it like today M2000C, AV-8B or MiG-19. But they will make me laugh when they release the F-15E with working only a cannon and "stupid bombs": D
-
You do not understand. If they release it unfinished, they might finish it in five years. Now there's a chance they'll try to do it all right away
-
Full working model or nothing.

The F-15E is a determinant and symbol of a modern multi-role fighter but certainly not a fighter symbol - such were the F-15A / C / I / J and now it is the F-22 Do you know what is the difference between a multi-role fighter and a fighter? Especially an air superiority fighter? If the F-15E is a symbol of a fighter, well ... I bow my head in silence ...
