using core affinity to improve performans, how ?
roob replied to m1tp2king's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Ctrl + Alt + Delete. Task manager. Processes. Right-click dcs.exe, Set Affinity... -
You must fight, like a ninja! Hide, observe, focus, move and strike with extreme agility and speed! Then return to the shadows...

Puzzling, or just very powerful engines :)

That guy knows his machine, all day, erry day. -
This sounds very awesome! I will try it out whenever I don't feel too tired :)

Good choice on the Filco :) Browns <3 Didn't wanna wait for CM Storm Rapid with Brown to get in stock so I settled for Red. It works... But, the tactile feedback from the clicky browns and beyond are waaaay nicer overall.

System won't boot. Card starts and lights up green and all, but my monitor never receives any signal from the 280X. I have only tried the DVI-outputs because my monitor doesn't support DP/HDMI. i5-2500K P67A-GD65 Corsair AX760i and some memory.

Card didn't work. Gonna have to send it back...

That is a sweet looking camp ready for a rocket barrage. Mad skills in the mission editor or how did you do it? -
Bought 280X today. If I get it tomorrow and play this weekend I'll post my intial thoughts :)

It shouldn't center itself in-game. You should be able to "feel" how the rotors are working, e.g. move stick, trim and the stick should stay in place where you trimmed. If it is a FFB-stick, if not, don't listen to me :)

Try "Swap Axis" on "Axis Tune", works for my MS FFB2 anyway.

Most decisive gun kill I've seen!

Great game, but I have a few questions...

I guess you're right :) http://www.cpu-world.com/Compare/349/AMD_Phenom_II_X4_955_(125W__rev._C3__BE)_vs_AMD_Phenom_II_X4_960T.html -
Yes. I disabled it and now it works as it should, thank you :) I thought "Control helper" was the two boxes showing, which it evidently isn't. What is "Control helper"?

This is how the game interprets my MS Force Feedback 2 joystick when it's centered (see attached image). Known problem? Can I fix this? Its centered in Windows controller settings aswell.

Because there's something wrong with your eyes. And if you can't see it you can't see it (and good for you, saves money! :p), but there's no way 30 FPS is adequate. 30 FPS is tolerable, nothing else. The "human eye can only"-argument is in this case a very twisted fact and shouldn't be used here. 60 FPS on a 60Hz monitor (or much rather 120 FPS on a 120Hz monitor) is like lotion for the eyes. The motions are just more fluent. 1. More on-topic though, OP, I'm very much certain it's your CPU that's holding you back. I guess the GPU isn't far from being pushed to it's limit either. I think disabling (or reducing visibility of) objects such as houses, trees etc. can gain you a decent couple of FPS, but then playability (esp. with the helicopters) suffers. 3. Well aside from the obvious benefits with Track-IR, you can quickly get your guns/shkval pointing to the target/target area. Very useful when that Stinger-soldier pops up behind the hill below you, for instance :) -
Haven't read much of what the others have already said, but I think you might have misunderstood the autopilot/trim concept of the Ka-50. It's not just for hovering, it's for making that baby do whatever you want it to do. It's brilliant. And I pretty much fly it like :joystick::gun_rifle: and that would not work (efficiently) without the ingenious AP channels!

That guy can fly!

Beautiful maler :D -
Not sure what you are trying to accomplish. From the manual, pg 6-102: “ППС” (Head-on airborne target) button. Pressing this button will adjust the fuze of the Vikhr ATGMs onboard to use a proximity fuze suited to attacking airborne targets in the forward hemisphere (high aspect). "C" is not manual targeting. When the "weapon control switch" (Manual pg. 6-54) is set to AUTO, "C" shows in the HUD when launch parameters for the selected weapon are set. Or as the manual states (since it's probably easier to understand): “РУЧН-АВТ” (Manual/Auto weapon control switch). Placing this switch in the up "РУЧН" position commands manual weapon and sensor control, and placing the switch in the down "АВТ" position commands automatic control. When in manual mode, computed launch authorization, automated gate tracking size, and vertical compensation Vikhr launcher to target are absent. You should only use the manual mode when the automatic mode is inoperative. The only time I use MAN weapon control is when I engage targets that are outside Vihkr range but circumstances allow the Vihkr to reach the target anyway (eg. wind, height, vision) or at night time when an actual lock are hard/impossible to get. Not sure which countdown you are referring to. When using guns, the countdown (6-8 seconds) is the time for the gun to be correctly adjusted for the tracked target. These videos show two different ways to use the systems for the given situation. It's how I do it at least :) http://www.twitch.tv/juclecia/c/2203700 - Air to air using guns with no actual target lock. http://www.twitch.tv/juclecia/c/1851814 - Air to air using Vihkr with target lock.

Standard russian AFAC doctrine. Very good for improving your situational awareness over the target area.

It always does :)
