  1. Only you can answer these questions really, as it depends on the situation. I know this has been spoken to death in many games and situations, but, you should always plan your escape in case things go downhill. Not knowing where to go when shit be coming at you is mistake number one. Wherever you fly, ask yourself, what kind of threat can get to me here? Is there any cover nearby? Where are the enemy lines? Where are the friendly lines? Is my altitude matching my needed escape maneuvers? As some has already pointed out, being in a hover is almost always a bad idea. Full rudder into the direction of choice and dive for the ground. Try to mask yourself against your surroundings. Hovering works in DCS because it works (pun intended), but you should generally aim for a more :joystick: approach. If altitude is high enough and threat is in front of you, try a split-S. Hold (or trim repeatedly) trim button, full left/right to inverted, center stick, pull back gently and work that rudder. Since there's no maintenance in the game, I don't know if you have to replace your mast after every time you do this, but it looks badass, you gain a lot of velocity opposite from the threat and it's also really fun :smartass:
  2. Make sure nothing (that shouldn't be) is bound in the "Axis" menu aswell.
  3. And it just can't be beaten! ^^,
  4. If the AI is turning over to look at you, you better just get the hell outta dodge because it sets the entire world and physics aside just so it can eliminate you.
  5. I'm speaking my mind here but, hovering counter-acts your loitering time and adding more weight with extra fuel and fueltanks counter-acts your hovering performance. Apart from the general engine performance questions, I'm assuming the bottom line is that you want to stay at that altitude for some time. If that's the case I think you'll be better of flying a figure 8 pattern with the fuel tanks.
  6. Does it display the range at all? Laser on? Target locked? Post a track if possible :)
  7. Ah, yes, the old switcharoo with the left of supermarket toggle but still very nice weapon delete. Up along down and just engage switch of light. ;)
  8. Where do you sign-up for the newsletters?
  9. <3 AP channels.
  10. Changelogs aren't necessarily just for customers :)
  11. Was gonna get this one eventually, and I just landed a job, so I thought "what the heck, $16, let's go!" and so I grabbed it today too :) The Huey seems interesting too but time isn't as available as money :D
  12. The Su-25T first and foremost isn't modeled on a DCS level, and second the Ka-50 can lock and engage different targets in a much shorter time period because it's a helicopter, and not a a constantly moving jet, like the Su-25T :)
  13. Technology. Deal with it :) But if I remember the training correctly, there are ways to conserve cycles by re-adjusting the sight on another nearby target (and not using the laser to acquire a new range) within the time counting down (usually 6 seconds) after the first missile hit. I'm not a hundred, though.
  14. I'm guessing it's just because it's easier to have a JTAC implemented in randomized missions for everyone rather than just for the A-10C alone. Mission generator logics.
  15. I line up with the target and point my computed targeting reticle on it with a forward speed of 150-250 km/h when using rockets. Firing rockets stationary is a bit... ineffective, and also dangerous in a hostile environment. For the gun I usually lock the targets up before firing. The gun is highly accurate though, especially at close ranges, so it's not always that necessary. Just point with the shkval and shoot :joystick: Remember to use the rangefinder at those longer ranges at least once so you get the gun aligned.
  16. The AFM first saw the light of day with the Su-25T in the first FC expansion to Lock On. Naturally, it followed into FC2 aswell as DCS World :)
  17. The question is answered. It's the distance at which objects gets loaded into memory. Trees being visible and being loaded is not the same thing.
  18. The hopes in humanity are falling by the post. A lot of people seems to think that developing one thing is the end of another... And I don't know how many times Wags and the others have stated that these, let's call them side-projects (although they are not), does not occupy space and time of the upcoming god almighty high-fidelity DCS-titles. If ten people are building a car, hiring another ten will not get the car done faster. You'd only have ten guys in the way of the first ten. Those new ten guys are better off doing something else, maybe five of them could make a motorcycle? Food for thought...
  19. AFM was introduced with the Su-25T in the first Flaming Cliffs expansion. It basically makes the aircraft more challenging to fly and allows for a more dynamic flying experience. Less train along a rail kind of flying. Can't find the original movie, because youtube is bubbling everything. But theAFM was pretty exciting news when it first came :) Compare this with this at 01:30 minutes in. And you will see the A-10 "sticking to the rail" at touchdown.
  20. Your work or have I missed something? :O
  21. Trim after EACH new controller input ;)
  22. Wow. There actually is a way to deploy bombs successfully
  23. 52:00 minutes in, I land at a FARP using the "constant trim method". All AP channels on except ALT HLD. It's how I always do, and it works like a charm once you get the hang of how the trimming works. FFB joystick though :) http://www.twitch.tv/juclecia/c/1817255
  24. The GAU-8 sound is like a god cheering you on
  25. You can aim the Shkval manually on target, which is doable if the heli and target isn't moving or moving particularly fast. Sometimes the Shkval goes haywire though and ruins the shot...
