The ABRIS datalink where you can see other flights is as far as I know only for Ka-50. It's a real pain to try and find a helicopter again :) If you do lose track, visualize the route, speed and altitude he's flying and if possible fly low to make him an object in the sky along ridges and such.

I like the up-close-and-personal experience with both the enemy and the ground that comes with the Ka-50. I'm waiting eagerly to see if the MiG-21Bis can change my preference, but I'm certain I'll long for the CQB experience after a while yet again.

I have a question. I downloaded the demo campaign and when I fly it I just get a missing texture skin on my chopper. Did you download that skin? I've also noticed that I get a missing texture a lot when I play online as Russia and I can't understand why. I went through the russian skins, all works and I don't seem to have the one you're using.

Dust isn't modelled. Ice is however, and lift performance, instrument readings etc will degrade as ice builds up. I'm not sure how many systems are affected though.

Sounds like you need to read up on trim :) Rudder input is part of the trimming, and since you mention spinning out of control, I'm guessing you might've forgotten that. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=35444

If you really need more lift, just turn anti-ice off for a short period. Also, EKRAN will warn you when you need it.

When losing an engine, gaining speed quickly is essential. Apart from what previous users have mentioned, if you're still too heavy to stay in the air with one engine, press PAGE UP to make the engine(s) enter EMERGENCY POWER instead of the usual AUTO setting. On my stream, in the Aggression of Georgia clip (check Highlights), I get one of my engines shot out and emergency land and take off making it back to base with the one engine left running. I think it's about an hour into the mission. I would've found it myself, but my internet right now is too slow for me to do it :)

No, fire cannon is only for firing the cannon. You want to use "Weapon release", default "Enter"-key I think for any weapon you have armed. You also need to select a weapon (inner or outer hardpoints indicators should be green).

You need to buy BS2 (Upgrade). Then just download the latest module for it, I'm guessing its still 1.2.2.

Most likely, but they are based on wire and laser guidance and are less maneuverable than surface-to-air or air-to-air missiles. gryghost: If the chopper is up and running correctly: Weapons system switch to on (to the right of the ejection seat armament), master arm on (weapons console, top left, next to the stores indications), select a weapon and you should be all set.

Briefing :) I guess I've been playing too many missions lately that lacks proper communication methods and that just puts info on the screen no matter the frequency. I only switch channels if they bug out and repeat it over and over. I think that might've been fixed though...

I think there's a "disable" in the options. But I usually change frequency if I'm not expecting to hear anything useful.

Yes, you just have to get out of the "storm", but due to chopper design the best choice is often forward.

If it's only the nuclear part you want, the MiG-21Bis is able to drop a nuclear bomb. But the DCS engine is too limited for that to be practical or even fun :( Wouldn't mind an F-84, or F-80 though!

Buttons and knobs are still in the same place... Seems like a waste of resources to me. Bring on the next module!
