How many people have switched their attention to ArmA?

Not a flight sim. If you get it solely for that reason, you'll be disappointed. Think of it more as . . . ArmA - Modern "Ground" Combat. :) -
How many people have switched their attention to ArmA?
S77th-ReOrdain replied to maukings's topic in Cимуляторы
Have it. Love it! Demo doesn't do the full version any justice as the playability and weapons are no where near as good as the current patch. With several mods out on a weekly basis, large community and simulated battle environment, it's just what I've been waiting for since OFP came out. Don't get me wrong, it's not for everyone, but after reading the glowing reviews about S.T.A.L.K.E.R by BGP, this game offers years of playability compared to 40-100 hours. Realistically, it's just as taxing on a system as Lock On is (tweaking required to get above 25 frames). Once that's achieved you're on your way. Oh, unlike OFP, you can dumb down the AI abit with the custom settings so that survival using good tactics is actually possible. Offline missions are just to get you up to speed. Online is where the fun is! -
Sgalbincea, I was totally unaware of this situation, until reading your apology. My hopes for you are that the pain that you've suffered and are suffering will subside. There is definately a lesson here. One's internet connection, seemingly a great venue for anonymous acts, remains only one source in a connected community. As long as the connection remains intact, it leads back to the source. Obviously, others beside the authors of your plagerised content were affected by your actions. I beleive your intent was not to harm anyone, but instead, as you confessed, a cry for attention. Unfortunately, the attention you sought was given, it just wasn't positive. I respect your admission and your attempt to make amends. No one is perfect, and the truth is usually made evident with time. Forgive yourself and the rest will take care of itself. Zaelu's last comment were words of wisdom.

Release of new Virtual Panel v.1.2.1!
S77th-ReOrdain replied to Mnemonic's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Yes, and the news is . . . IT WORKS! Great program Mnemonic! First of all, big thanks to Mnemonic for creating the LOVP program and of course "Codemaster Z" Zorlac for his contributing effort to make this usable with Touchbuddy by combining the scripts of LOVP with the Touchbuddy export script. For those interested in trying to integrate this with Touchbuddy, it can be done as Wild Bill Kelso suggested earlier in the thread. I've gotten it to work as a "click-through" feature. See the the following thread for details: http://www.touch-buddy.com/forums/how-do-i/824-get-lovp-work-touchbuddy.html#post6171 Incidentally, the two will co-exist with Tacview as well. Just make sure your last few lines in the export.lua read like this (with tacview last) - To be continued... --]] dofile("./Config/export/tbvp-export.lua") dofile("./Config/export/tacview.lua") -
To all pilots flying blue last night: Please come back and let's do it again, more "fun" awaits.

IK, glad to hear you're taking the plunge. We've got plans to add more Air-to-Ground only missions as well as additional Air-to-Air only. Right now, the majority of what's on the S77th are a mixture of both, offering pilots the option of getting their feet wet in a variety of scenarios. It's kinda difficult to make a huge impact on the overall engagement flying strictly A/G unless you've got adequate air cover or have become somewhat familiar with the map (however, there may be some minimal random settings on AI SAMs). But the challenge is what makes it fun, right ;). Anyway, there's other good servers that offer Air-to-Ground engagements exclusively, and those servers should be explored as well. Kudos to all squads that continue to offer a place for people to fly. We're doing what we can to keep Lock On entertaining for as many online participants as possible. Keep coming back!

Pilotasso, you couldn't hide. We'd know you anywhere ;).

Cannot connect to multiplayer games anymore
S77th-ReOrdain replied to gundelgauk's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
At least once it was a graphics card issue. I first started noticing other anamolies (glitches, longer loading times, graphic inconsistencies, etc. . . .). Sometimes a reboot would solve it, sometimes it wouldn't. I could connect and play for a period of time, but performance would continue to degrade. Consequently, I ended up cleaning it thouroughly of the dust build up on fan and monitoring the temperature. This worked for a while, but eventually the performance was not good enough for Lock On, whereas, it was still good enough for other games. Again, just speculating. But, replacing the graphics card in that instance solved the problem. Unfortunately, that's a costly fix. I hope it's something else. -

S77th-ReOrdain replied to gundelgauk's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
If you changed nothing, and now it doesn't work, I'd be willing to bet that it's a hardware issue. I have experienced something similar to what you're describing. Unfortunately, I don't know enough to be able to direct you to the right troubleshooting procedures other than your basic diagnostic tests. Lock On seems to tax a PC like no other game. In the end, I always ended up replacing some hardware component to fix the problem. Not suggesting you need to do the same, but it's something to look at. 'Cause if nothing changed (config wise), you would still be able to connect. -
What happened to AWACS?

Relax Frank, AWACS still available on some servers at times. Just not all the time. -

Joining a HL game with "password required"
S77th-ReOrdain replied to VR_Chalky's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Glad I could help. It's also a good idea to put a brief statement about the fact that the game is passworded while setting up in HL. You can use the game description portion of HL to enter that information. That way, people won't waste time trying to join, assuming that it is public. ;) -
Joining a HL game with "password required"
S77th-ReOrdain replied to VR_Chalky's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Start game as usual throuh HL. Once server starts, the host must then stop the connection, put the password in while at the multiplayer screen and then start the connection again. Password should now be enabled. -

F-15C + AIM120 So Unfair!
S77th-ReOrdain replied to Tropikal's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Tropikal, Taking it all in, in a short span of time is overwhelming. Know that first. Many have offered valid advice and opinions. Do your best to consider what is being said by those whose opinion you value. Although I am far from being one of the better pilots in this game/sim, I am willing to assist you with what I know about the Su-27, as others have either already done or have offered to do. Good pilots are what we all hope to encourage in this fantistic virtual world. And yes, at some point, during our exploration, most of us have felt exactly the way you do, hoping to hone our skills enough to come out on top the majority of the time. Hopefully, time spent exploring its nuances will put you on the road you need to travel. At this point, it seems you are concentrating far too much on the advantages of the F-15. Yes, the F-15 in the hands of the right pilot (be he a fanboi or otherwise) is a lethal aircraft. Nevertheless, as has been said, the same holds true for the Russian planes. You're just not as familiar with them yet, and they take slightly longer to realize, learn and hopefully master. The best, still get shot down by newer pilots if they abandon technique, fail to maintain situational awareness, fly into missiles dumb and happy and don't communicate with whomever else is online to improve their chances. These things are essential. What I'm really saying is, you have to use every single advantage you have, every engagement, to come out the victor and fly home alive the majority of the time. Kills are not automatic. They require the proper approach. Getting shot down, is not automatic. You have to abandon what you know works, ignore the proven tactics of successful air combat engagement (including the Dicta Bolke's) and fail to make a serious effort to avoid getting shot down. It is true that it is far better to stay alive and live to fight another day (or in LOMAC another sortie), than to have to spool your engines up again with an additional digit in the losses column. Let the spammers spam. When you learn to avoid their missiles it means they have less to threaten you with. If you still think the AIM-120 is that great, try to realize that it is so because you have not understood yet how to avoid them. Flying in like a wild banshee (not necessarily saying this is what you do) rarely works against a skilled adversary, no matter how many missiles you fire, or at what range, if this is the only tactic employed. And one final comment. The Russian birds have a substantial advantage that has been mentioned here a couple of times. It is known as the IR heat seeking missile, and it can be fired without your enemy knowing it is even coming. Learn how to use them. Learn how the EOS works, and learn how to be sneaky instead of predictable. And while you're learning, I'll catch you online. -

Excellent! That's about as cruel as I can be. Unique composition and top notch editing. Keep them coming. -
One last thing to add: Lock On's in game programming allows you to trim via rotary dial on the X-52 or by using the button combinations to fine tune - as has been mentioned by JaboG32_Laud. Check your axis trim settings within the game programming to comfirm there is no conflict, i.e., trim axis is not set opposite the button commands. You will need to check both the keyboard inputs and the X-52 axis settings within options. Hopefully, this will sort your problem. If you do utilize axis trim within game, also verify that your rotary settings within the Saitek programming feature are properly configured. Other than that, make sure the rotary dial remains in the neutral position (centered) before you attempt to use the keyboard trim. A slight deadzone in the center area of the Saitek program may assist you in this. You can set that in control panel (game controllers), or by right clicking the little Saitek icon.

Don't think there is a reference for trees in the Meinit.xml file (could be wrong). However, I tried making trees and forests collision capable once in the Lock On\Bazar\foresttable.sht and Lock On\Bazar\treestable.sht. by changing the collision reference from "false" to "true". I had no success. Lock On did not load and gave me an error instead. Please back up your files if you attempt to do this, or it may cause a headache. Incidently, if anyone does figure this out, please share.

Tacview 0.84 - ACMI for LockOn: Flaming Cliffs
S77th-ReOrdain replied to Vyrtuoz's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Great ongoing project. Agree with GreyGhost here. Even though the directory setup is easy enough, it would be nice to give users a sample .xml file for the construction of custom static objects. Your example seems straightforward, but I'm having issues entering latitude and longitude info for placement. Your screenshot shows the creation of an airport.xml and tutorial.xml placed in the demo folder. Any way to include those or a threat range example as illustrated in your screenshots for users to have a base to work from? -

Outstanding work! I've found that it is possible to save the workbook if you right click anywhere on the pages and use the export to excel feature. That is of course if you already have excel. This allows the user to use the interactive features. Thanks again for a job well done.
