Hey all, looking for some opinions! I'm the type of person that will take off and land over and over until it's perfect every single time. Repeating TACAN navigation and ILS approaches repeatedly, to make sure should my other nav fail and the weather or poor, I can still get home. It's almost OCD but if I don't know how to do it perfectly, and realistically, I get annoyed and feel like I'm not "enjoying the sim" the right way. How many of you take on a similar approach? Do many of you just jump into combat after the tutorials and learn that way? That'd be fun but I'd get frustrated coming back from a mission and crashing on landing! No real point to this thread, it's just to try and stimulate a bit of discussion regarding how people learn! Thanks :)

Hi all, Been away for a while and back to DCS agai now. Quick question regarding lights - Which should I use, and when? I also seem to remember one of the not switch on until you hit a certain command...But just can't remember what it was! hope you can help :) Con

Hey all, Been away for a while, and have been given an extra stick of ram of the same spec and model as my current ram. I currently have 4gb on one stick so will be adding a 2gb stick. Does A10 see any improvement whatsoever from 4gb to 6gb? It seems most games don't and wondered if that applied here. Cheers Con

I'm a little out of the loop - What's happened to the new IL game?

Could be a number of reasons causing it to happen, though to get rid of it press the clear (Clr I believe) on the CDU or UFC.

You guys talk about aircraft as if they're not designed to fly and require some mystic knowledge to keep them airborn! Am well on my way to acquiring ppl an have to say Dcs and fsx helped immeasurably. It wouldnt be pretty and you'd definitely crap yourself but between ils and understanding of the basics there's no reason you couldn't get it down...

Hmm..Well,I can't say for sure but considering it does seem to mention Direct X I'd say your first plan should be to download the most up to date version of direct x...Following that update your graphics drivers (if you need help with that, let me know your graphics card and I'll seek them out).

Hey all, Is there anywhere I can read up on positional tactics regarding various missions? For example, mission 2 of deployment campaign has you escorting an armour block - Should I be flying round quickly never staying still, or keeping range? I'm really not sure... Cheers

Yeah I thought the startup looked a bit fast...Shame because I can't enjoy a flight sim if it isn't modelled exactly as it would be in real life...Feel like I'm playing a game rather than a sim!

I'm playing it now! Not really played much TW stuff before...Rome, but that was years ago! Is hard the best difficulty to start on? It seems to be the half way point...
