New SimHaptic for bass shakers works great!
Hiob replied to Peedee's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Yes. -
Somebody doesn’t know how to work with virustotal.
-
You can use it on top of haptic devices or just on its own. It just injects additional sounds over your usual speakers.
-
Problem is that the issue lays with the AVs giving falls positives and not first and foremost with the software developers. And uninstalling DCS about some false positive AV alarms is just….. well, an overreaction.

'Speed Brake - Out (Hold)' command does not close when released.
Hiob replied to Snacko's topic in DCS: F-4E Phantom
No, I think it is supposed to extend the speed brake whilst you are holding down the button and stop in position when you release it. In opposite to open fully on one click. But your guess is as good as mine. -
Sorry, I thought I had to choose the output already. Maybe I confused that with the simhaptic app. I had both running at the same time.

Anyone still using MS or Logi FFB stick?

Have you done a basic windows calibration? -
You can (must) set the output source in the settings. Problem is that it doesn't switch automatically (same as DCS sometimes).
-
Some effects are great, some not so much. But even though I will use only 3-5 effects depending on the aircraft - I will probably buy a licence.
-
Some (most?) helicopters have the main rotor shaft tilted in a way, that gives optimal body attitude at cruise speeds. Which may lead to a crooked attitude in hover. Dunno if and how pronounced this effect may be in the kiowa. Maybe it is balanced differently for military use.

New SimHaptic for bass shakers works great!

Ok, so my verdict on both (simhaptic and dcrealistic) is basically the same as it was for simshaker: Some effects are great, feel „right“ and are quite immersive. But they are few on either side maybe three to five each for both apps. Others feel anything between artificial, unrelated or annoying. I‘m sure with leaps and heaps of optimisation and custom effects from the community (eventually) it will be a great addition to DCS (well if the performance impact can be sorted out). So far it is ok-good. I will probably buy a license for both (definitely for dcrealistic) since the handful effects I like, I like a lot. I‘m kind of on the edge for simhaptic. The effect it does good, simshaker does also good (probably a function of the simulated effect, not of the program). On the plus side, the interface is certainly nicer. Some wishlist items: - connect the volume of dcrealistic with the master volume of DCS - let us test effects, without DCS running -
Okay, one big flaw I found so far is, that the volume of the effects isn’t affected by the game volume settings. That‘s a problem when you need to switch between headset and speakers and single player and multiplayer and so on. Maybe that is an individual problem to me, but I change the master volume quite often. Would be nice, if that would be linked to DCRealistic.

There are some nice sounds that I thoroughly missed so far in DCS. Mainly touchdown tire screeching. Other sounds need to be toned down a lot or deactivated from the default. But so far it seems promising overall. Let‘s keep an eye on the performance impacts.

After re-assembling the thing three times now (for reasons) I can comfortably say, that you don’t need the inner retainers. It is much easier to just screw the outer retainers in with just the bolts and nuts (some loctide on the nuts to keep them from coming loose) as a first assembly step and then just stick everything together without broken fingers. It would even be smoother and easier to just print the outer retainers as part of the side walls just from the get go. But that „design-flaw“ is not on Winger. When Protomaker adapted the sheet wood design for 3D-printing, he only went 90% of the way* (there were probably reasons, no judgement). *imho of course That‘s the most powerful 57er you get (as a kit). The 86er don’t fit. Mind that the motors from Walmis‘ kit are not „from the shelf“. Just order the kit I quoted if you plan on doing it DIY. I haven’t seen a ready-to-go kit for the bigger motors yet.
-
That is what it is designed for. You need the 2x57BLF03 + USB-kit. Add a PSU and you have a complete Rhino (after assembly of course).
-
I use the same one linked above. It is powerful enough to support a second device if needed and dead silent under the loads needed by the rhino.
-
that I cannot comment. I always thought it was a general problem.

The AI can see through vegetation. That‘s old news. ED have announced that they have improved the realism of ground AI. (mainly the super natural reaction and aiming). I hope they addressed this as well….

warfare is serious business

Your assumption is wrong. The wave of fresh accounts that do nothing but complain and pointing fingers predates the Razbam-issue. And in case it wasn't obvious - of course I didn't mean EVERY new account.
-
You felt addressed?

Nature of the beast. You have to keep multiple balls in the air when running a business. Can't drop any. However, I think we're talking about different departments here.
-
I really think it is just a vocal minority either way. The vast majority of DCS players probably isn't even in the forum (or discord for that matter) and simply plays. Occasionally being surprised by an update. Maybe I'm wrong though - we don't really have proper statistics about DCS.
-
I have my own theory about all those fresh accounts that spread bad energy right from the get go - but spelling it out would probably give me some warning points. However - I hope ED is aware of potential problems and monitors this.

Yeah. Terms like "lossless upscaling" bring my BS-meter to "free energy" levels.... That doesn't mean it can't be good though!
