Because ED's systems are simplified and it would be unfair. That said no other 3rd party dev has done anything regarding realistic IFF either so its just adding complexity for no extra value for Deka. Even the JF17s IFF, though more complex than other DCS modules, is rudimentary at best.

Deka indicated long ago, during the JF17s release, that the amount of Chinese aircraft they are allowed to make that won't land them in the gulag is extremely limited and the J8PP happens to be one of the few they are able to make. People seem to be intent on ignoring the simple fact that if it served with the PLAAF in ANY CAPACITY at ANY TIME they are NOT allowed to sell it to the public. Given the simulator has numerous frankenstein jets with capabilities they shouldn't have, I'd rather have an aircraft that is somewhat representative of the most pivotal moment in Chinese aviation that never served, than not have it at all. Given that it never served, it is a perfect candidate for Deka to make.

JF17, despite the Chinese avionics, is not a Chinese aircraft and it was never in service with PLAAF.

Deka has been very very clear over the years that their choices are defined by what the PLAAF allows them to do without moving into a jail cell for the rest of their lives. If the choice is the J8PP or nothing at all, I'll take the J8PP.

I support making them more dangerous just to watch the meltdown happen when people get slapped out of the sky for being skill deficient.

Hi. While looking for potential fixes to an issue on 4YA's WW2 server I came across this strange phenomenon. When you get too close to enemies they will cease fire and in some cases forget you're there entirely. You can fly formation right in the center of a combat box and the bombers will refuse to fire at you. Not only that at many angles the bombers won't even use their full arsenal to shoot at you. Attached is a video showing the issue, with commentary, and I have attached two tracks and the scenario itself. There is an argument to be made that this is intentional as to prevent fratricide but the extent of this issue seems far far too extreme. If all the LW had to do was sit right in the middle of a formation they'd have absolutely ruined the concept of daylight bombing. Switching DCS to a subscription based game is a stupid idea and you should feel stupid. If you want to see DCS dry up overnight, make people pay for the audacity to play the game they've already purchased through modules.

The alt limit for the switch back to the first supercharger gear is *lower* in descent than it is during ascent, it was a design choice by BMW to make sure pilots had maximum available ata during an emergency dive. Greg speaks about it in one of his BMW801 videos.

Theres many reasons not to recommend DCS WW2 to anyone (many reasons to do the opposite in fact too), however this isn't one of them.
