+1 to suggestions. -
Strange. With those settings I just get a black screen. Guess I'll just be waiting for the update. Thanks anyway =)

Thanks blksolo, and is this with the .dll that Alex posted? Or you didn't need that?

Has anyone actually got the DK1 working currently? I don't mind if Multiplayer does work. If so, would you be so kind as to post what you have done (settings wise) here? Thanks
-
I borrowed my friends DK1 this weekend also just because 1.2.8 beta came out. Doh! So very close to trying it out.

My pit is going to be perfect with the Rift and this armband if it can do what they say it can.

So I had this exact same thing happen to me. Although my experience was pretty specific but I'll throw it out there in-case it helps. I found that when I tried to stream DCS using OBS (Open Broadcast Software) it would crash the game exactly the same way, every time, with the same error. (Failed to open mission briefing file) When I turned off the streaming software, it loaded fine every single time. I actually tried it 8 times, 4 crashes with OBS streaming, 4 perfect loads with OBS not streaming (it didn't have to be closed, just not capturing my DCS game window) EDIT: So I guess in a more general sense, is there anything in windows or otherwise that's trying to access the DCS game while it's loading? Maybe some external graphic settings or... something of that nature.

Everyone, and I mean everyone, becomes a troll on April 1st =)

I agree that the GBU-38 could have it's terminal velocity raised. Even with the "steering" mechanism, I would think the profile and weight of that bomb would travel a bit faster. As for stand-off... 38s are essentially fire and forget. It's not like you have to lase it all the way to the target. Just release and get the heck out of there.

VR is going to be amazing for our sims. Flat, 2D monitors have been the worst part about simming since it started. These minor issues of flicking switches and using the keyboard will be solved soon enough. I've already used the rift to toggle buttons just by looking at them. The pure immersion you get, and sense of height as you lift off the ground... nothing can replace that.

omg omg Oculus Rift support. My life just ended. -
I didn't know if it was a bug or not, but I guess the whole *no wind* thing is making it an obvious bug. Thanks for posting it in the bug section.

Will all the DCS: WWII modules (eventually) be compatible with DCS: World? -
From their website: Included Accessories: HDMI to DVI Adapter DC Power Adapter International Power Plugs Nearsighted lens cups Lens cleaning cloth

Have you guys tried the Oculus with Outerra?
-
Does it work with DCS without hacks? Or do you need some kind of 3rd party software at the moment to use it with DCS?
-
I see where you're coming from, but my main issue has to do with what they promised on the kickstarter campaign. For example, SDK was said to be released by the end of the year so that we could have maps ready by the time DCS: WWII was released. Now, I know some of the limitations with this comment. I realize EDGE wasn't even integrated in DCS: World at the time, and is still be integrated now. BUT I want to hear that form the guy who promised the SDK in the first place, not everyone else. I want to hear from the guy who promised constant communication, a social media manager, an SDK, etc etc, why those things have not been done or aren't happening. Part of the reason I pledged was not because of DCS: WWII, but to get some more inside information on the progress of EDGE, and to help support Eagle Dynamics in general. People don't stick to their promises, I guess with such a small market it seems to happen more here than anywhere else I've seen. Sure there are setbacks, but KNOWING that going in, means you don't promise what you can't deliver, it's as simple as that. Hopefully the questions from this thread will get addressed at least. Thank you again for putting them together.

What else does this mean to you? Just curious. All I meant was I think it's closer than I thought considering testers have a working build of a new rendering engine (whether finished or not) in their builds, which to me, is progress.
-
I'm really glad to see that the testers are currently testing a build WITH the new IG. Granted it's still WIP and there is a lot to be done, just knowing that they have a build with it makes me think it's getting much closer than I thought.

Looks curved to me! Let's hope so =)
