I don't feel like searching for the link, but Wags said all the FC3 aircraft will at some point be upgraded with an AFM. More recently, it was stated that Belsimtek was the one working on the AFM, for ED. Since Belsimtek are partners with ED, I would assume it's just going to be F-15C: Flaming Cliffs module. Same as before, just with an AFM. And for your last question: "We are considering the possibility of creating a complete avionics model with clickable cockpit and accurate systems modeling. This would be a major development however, so a final decision has not yet been made." - From Belsimtek's website. EDIT: This is also speculation (sorry mods,) but since they've already put over a year into the development of the F-15C AFM, and the F-15C already has a cockpit set up for clickable buttons, I would bet we see a DCS: F-15C module at some point in the future. "Over a year a hard work has gone into the development of this model and now it is finally ready for initial external testing."

Thank you! I must have missed that one. Can't wait.

Where is a pic of the WIP Su-25T 3D pit??

It probably has something to do with these: Maybe some people didn't read through the entire 30 pages and missed these:

BeachAV8R's GRAD EX DCS A-10 Mission
KaspeR32 replied to Wrecking Crew's topic in User Created Missions General
Thanks for posting! -
Hi everyone, I just wanted to know whether most people with TM Warthog used the TARGET programming software, or they use DCS: World to configure their joystick profiles. I've currently just been using DCS: World, especially because they added the ability to manage your control settings from within a mission now. Is there any advantages for using the TARGET software over in game profiles?
-
Correct. And yeah, that's the only reason I was speculating in the first place. You said only news while it was in DCS: World forum, I respected that ;)
-
lol. Do you wanna read that sentence again? Seems like we are all assuming things. I'm just assuming something different than you. You guys are funny.

I've always been confused about something. We've had these video's of other maps created for EDGE, and in some of them, you can see an Mi-8 flying around. How is it that such an early version of EDGE is already working in some random engine? And, since this engine is capable of having the Mi-8 fly around, would it not be safe to say that it is based off of some part of DCS? Or is the Mi-8 we're looking at in these videos a different piece of software completely than the Mi-8 Belsimtek has created? Or does nobody know? lol. If it is a different engine completely, these videos wouldn't even show what EDGE is capable of. What I mean is, DCS: World could handle EDGE in a much different way. Seems these other companies really got the hang of using and implementing edge, it's amazing the company that wrote the IG in the first place is so far behind.

What's your budget?
-
For the most part yes, but I'd go with an Nvidia card now. Maybe a GTX 760 if you can afford it. I have a 7850 and I could use a bit more fps. Also Nvida seems to work a bit better with not only DCS, but FSX too if you play that.

Steam Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) and Steam Specific Issues
KaspeR32 replied to ShaZe88's topic in Steam Support
Steam now properly logs DCS: World time! I guess have haven't been playing that much as of late, but I hopped on last night and realized Steam recognized that I was in the game for more that 1 second! You can also use Shift+Tab to open up your chat windows. Really awesome step forward for DCS: World  The only bad part is my streaming software, OBS, is crashing the game everytime I try to capture it with a Game Window. Not sure if this steam change had anything to do with it but I'll figure that part out. 4 hours logged already, with many more coming! (This might be a bad thing too, do I really want to know how much time I spend in DCS?) :music_whistling: -
Will we ever be able to assign several players to the same group online?
KaspeR32 replied to AegisFX's topic in DCS Wishlist
Not only that but having to set up 4 sets of way points for the same flight also gets a bit annoying ;) -
Wow, I never even thought of setting up some radio triggers and have the tanker go to a corresponding waypoint! I haven't seen your mission yet (at work), but can you have the tanker fly back to the "holding orbit" after refueling an aircraft? Lastly, does anyone know if there is a bug right now for the F-15C and air to air refueling? When I request intent to refuel, sometimes the tanker answers and sometimes it doesn't. Very odd. All your answers have been very helpful, thank you guys!
-
How do you get an AI controlled aircraft to react differently for A-10s or F-15s? I'm assuming you can't even do this. So maybe the answer would be to have two separate tankers, one for slow aircraft (220 kts) and one for Fast movers (315 kts)
-
Very cool! Although, correct me if I'm wrong , but doesn't the "race-track" orbit do this just on it's own? In my picture posted earlier, I have waypoint 3 calling for the orbit action. I assumed that the race-track orbit would travel between waypoint 3 and 4. So if I happen to set waypoint 4 50 miles out, wouldn't the orbit encompass that?

I'm glad you're enjoying the sim! It has hooked me for life, no doubt about that. It's basically everything I look for in a simulation (especially when EDGE is released.) Wait until you get to try the other modules as well, each one is a whole game on it's own, and it's a pleasure learning all of them. As for the Rift comments, the blurriness is because of high persistence, not the resolution. Oculus has already figured this problem out in the Crystal Cove prototype. Resolution will not be an issue as already stated many times by the Oculus team. The mobile industry is driving the price of small LED and OLED screens down further and further, we'll be fine on that front. The rift, at least for flight sims, will be a must have when the consumer version is released. :joystick:

I made the way point speed and orbit speed the same, and that seemed to fix the tanker speeding up after pre-contact. So thank you for that suggestion! I set it at 270 kts at 18,000 which seems to be around 210 IAS on the A-10C. Do you or anyone else have a speed/altitude that you like to use as a "standard" refueling set-up? Also, I'm not sure what you meant by the "switch waypoint" comment. I don't see it anywhere in the orbit settings for the tanker. Thanks for your help so far though! ;)
-
You know, this is silly but, I always just assumed it was indicated airspeed instead of ground speed for the mission editor. That makes a lot of sense. I'll try 290 kts for the waypoints AND the orbit. Thanks for the suggestion ENO.
-
Well, in the mission editor I have all the waypoints set up at 270 kts. On waypoint 3 however, I have a Race-Track orbit set up with a speed of 232 kts at 22,000 feet. I have two separate speeds for the waypoints and for the orbit. Could the AI be grabbing one speed when it's waiting for me and another after pre-contact? Also, the speeds I have set up are vastly different than the 175 kts and 185 knts I'm seeing on my A-10C as described in my OP.

Some news from Outerra in a long blog post: http://outerra.blogspot.com/ "The breadth of the scope of possible Outerra applications is huge, and we are also investigating other possibilities to launch development of other OT-based projects. A hot candidate is a unified simulator platform with the primary initial focus on a flight simulator, as it makes the largest group of inquiries we are getting."

Hey everyone, After all this time I've finally started to practice aerial refueling. I'm just curious about one thing. When I initially call into the tanker, he responds and tells me to proceed to Pre-contact. So far so good, the tanker seems to even slow down to around 175 kts for me to catch up. After I catch up and get in position, I tell the tanker I'm ready for pre-contact, the tanker responds "clear contact" but then immediately speeds up to 185 kts or so. My question is: Is this normal behavior? Or could it be something in the mission editor that I messed up? Thank you!
-
Mine isn't working yet, guess you got in with the first batch possibly.
-
Let's hope, when EDGE is finally integrated, we start seeing a lot more maps (maybe some even created by users) with all the detail we want. ::cough:: I might need a GTX 780 though ::cough::

Thanks for the heads up Wags.
