How do you know the level of complexity? Do you have detailed description of how it is implemented (prints, schematics, MTBF's date ...)? Let us not undermine Russian sense of simplicity when it comes to military equipment. Russians make simple things that work.

Well ... I was driving back home today, and while driving, phoned my wife. She was crying, watching the TV and in disbelief telling me about the tragedy that just occurred in Newtown, Connecticut! I am at home now and am watching the TV and can not believe my eyes ... Don't get me wrong I am not blaming internet unlimited "freedom" for this tragedy. But, there is a lots of lost souls out there ... There is a lot of confused young people not knowing right from wrong. Family, as a basic cell of a society, is collapsing big time, and not only in USA but in all developed countries. Specially Europe. People, specially young, don't know what to believe any more, and often have skewed views because there is so much of propaganda, lies, money making schemes, with complete disregard to humanity ... And I could go, on and on ... Internet is essential for modern life. But is also, grossly abused by money making schemes, terrorists recruiting schemes, political propaganda, international politics propaganda/lies ... Therefore, Internet needs to be regulated. Each country should have full control over internet content within its own border. I salute China for banning Youtube. However, Youtube cold get few hundred employes to filter the content and have it acceptable for Chinese community. BTW, just like internet, guns are NOT (or very loosely) regulated in USA!

And you can stay home, don't go out to drive you car, and you will be safe from driving accidents, you know :P Yet, you go out, take your chance, because you know that traffic is heavily regulated, significantly increasing your chances to avoid accidents. I am not against the internet. I am all for it. But, in needs to be regulated, heavily regulated.

Your response was very inaccurate and I would say inappropriate. My question had nothing to do with involving homeless person buying porn. You brought that up. That is your logic, certainly not mine. I've never mentioned parents, credit cards ... any of that. I have no idea why are you bringing this up? Bringing homeless people to this discussion was just inappropriate thing to do. Go back and re-read original question, (which had nothing to do with homeless people), and come back with a better idea on how to answer it.

You actually can regulate, with the main goal of preventing anarchy. What would be of a city of Stavanger, if the traffic is not regulated? Can you imagine Stavanger without traffic lights and without traffic rules? It would be Anarchy, right? Would you like to live in a city without traffic rules? BTW, I was in Norway many times. I love Norway and I love the city of Stavanger! Actually, yes, that is the answer. The cultures in Norway and in USA and in Iran and in China are way different. Therefore, why shouldn't they have a right to regulate their internet? I was in China a year ago. And youtube was blocked. And I did not miss it a bit! I love some of the you tube videos, but I get sick to my stomach with all that is readily available on youtube. Therefore, I fully understand Chinese government decision to block youtube.

Not, actually. In your example a minor is not buying pornography from a convenient store, but from a homeless person. Thus your response was not accurate nor appropriate. BTW, why did you choose homeless person for you scenario? Could it be middle class, adult from a nice family who wants to take advantage of a minor and lure him into pornography?

Who is "we"? BTW, internet should not be free and it should be regulated.

What about adult pornography? Can a minor in Australia go to a convenient store (gas station) and buy a pornographic magazine? I am pretty sure, your answer will be NO! So, why is it that a minor can access all kind of porn over the internet? Internet must be regulated. If not regulated, internet freedom turns into internet anarchy.

Internet also promotes lies, fascism, spam, pornography, self injuring. Internet is used to recruit bad people for bad things, internet is used for propaganda, for .... Not all is bad with internet. Actually, there is a lots of good things with internet. But it needs to be regulated, heavily regulated.

I know exactly what he was saying. Military balance can be achieved without US involvement. Those countries over there, they can sit down to talk or create military alliances on their own. Thus, US does NOT have to cover all those areas. Inability, often comes from unwillingness. Thus, I don't want to spend my money and my blood to support unwilling ... There is a different dimension to this discussion. And that is, many people believe that USA can just bring F-16 and problem is "solved"! Maybe, it was possible in the past (often, it was very wrong way to "solve" problems), but times are changing ...

U.S.A. does not have to bring power anywhere! Why should my tax dollars be spent to "to bring power" around the world? BTW, right now, USA, my government, borrows 40 cents for every dollar it spends! So "to bring power" to "protect" (what?) people around the world, my children and grandchildren will be paying back to China and other creditors countries for decades to come. Decades ... Right now, USA government debt Interest alone is more then we spend on our own EDUCATION!!!! Since 2010 Social Security fund is paying MORE then it takes, that means, when I retire, my pension my not be available!! And that is from the fund I've been paying into my entire life! As is right now, Medicare funding will only hold until 2024, that means when I retire I MIGHT not have medical insurance!! With all due respect, Eleazar, one need to understand that USA is not what it use to be. We are still the biggest superpower, and nobody in the world can challenge that might. But it is not what it use to be ...

But that was your argument, I mean you said that it is good to have many carriers because if one is down, then the other one can take over. BTW, we have 11 (or twelve) aircraft carriers. Well, that is not feasible either. Because our budget deficit is 1.2 trillion dollars. Yet, we still mess around with 11 aircraft carriers. U.S. carrier group does not do humanitarian aid. Neither do French carrier group. Nor will Chinese carrier group do any kind of "humanitarian aid missions". Military is built for one reason to either defend or to take land.

Have you visited China lately? Go to Shanghai, walk the streets .... Go check China Perl, and when on the top of the tower, take a look at the river below ... I was in China few times, for business. Although, I am not a global economist, I know what I am talking about China, and it is not speculations.
