You've just made my point. In other words, there is no need for A-10 to fight opponent that does not have missiles.

There are so many holes in this story. Does it really take a F-22 to scare the F-4? If that's the case, then we have a big problem with F-22! Once the F-22 presence is confirmed, I would say all radars are looking at it to see radar signature. Next, how do they know that Iran did not see F-22? What if the F-4 was a bait? If our drone was in international air space, what is the problem with the Iranian F-4 being in the international airspace.? In other wards, why is our F-22 chasing Iran out of international airspace? The whole story just does not make much sense and looks like a ....

Days of A-10 are over. Budget crisis is so bad that there are eve talks about retiring entire B1-B fleet. A-10 is the platform of the past. Nowdays, it is really good against opponent that can not shoot back with missiles.

Anybody watched Hubris on MSNBC tonight? WOW! Most of us knew all those things, but I hope, the Hubris is an eye opener to those who did not know or refused to use its own rationale to figure things out. BTW, Bill Clinton and Al Gore along with Tony Blair pulled the same scheme in April of 1999 .... time will tell. I wonder if anybody read the Hubris book?

Thunderbirds and Blue Angels should consolidate and create a single aerobatic team. I can not imagine our military not having aerobatic team. But, two teams, is a bit too much.

This is my last day in Peru. Although, I am at 3200m altitude, I am surrounded by mountains and the sky was always somewhat cloudy. I did not see much of stars, or sky in the past week or so. I had a somewhat clear sky only one evening, and was overwhelmed on how detailed I could se Orion and Taurus constelations.

Hopefully .... But, times are way different now. There is no end in sight to our budget deficit and we are not even talking about reducing our national debt. In the future, I believe people will vote for politicians who favor social security, over the politicians who favor military spending. It would not surprise me to see even more cuts to our military.

F-15C has never fought anything in its own class, or anything "modern". Also, all the fights I know of, F-15 had an overwhelming tactical advantage, some time in numbers, sometime in support from other aircraft and etc. This is not to say that F-15 is bad aircraft. But, when you say something, you need to put it into perspective.

It is waste of time trying to say the F-35 is not going to be a very good aircraft. It will be very good, there is no question about that. The biggest enemy of the the entire F-35 program is not the quality of the aircraft, but the cost of it.

Problems with flying close to electrical storm and reduced g's are definately not two years old. This documentary is airing all over Australia now. There might be some political pressure to reevaluate the F-35 program in Australia.

In 1999, NATO countries used its military force against Yugoslavia, a UN member country. UN security councel did not authorize it. None of NATO members delclared war. None of the NATO countries parlaments authorized their military forces. And the military was used to take the part of the teritory of a sovereign, UN member country. Which, BTW is against Helsinki agreement too! And the largest coal reerves in Europe are also there ... Thus, UN really means nothing to powerfull countries. For all practical purposes, UN does not exist when it comes to use of military.

It looks like Blue Angels will show up at Barksdale this year. I've seen them live several times and they are just incredible. I hope to go see them again this year. Although, it would not surprise me if they reduce their activities if sequester takes place on March 1st.
