He, he, he ... You are absolutely right. But, GGTharos decided to bring NATO use of military over Yugoslavia in this discussion. There are many kids here who don't know the whole story and can easily believe everything GG says. That's why I challenge GG's spin on some events over Yugoslavia. And, again it wasn't me, who brought this discussion up. When GG stops spinning, I'll stop responding. Also, I am amazed with the the AAQ-37 capabilities. However, it is not perfect, and it can be fulled.

Not completely. What brought F-117 and F-16 down? So what? HARMS effectiveness was almost completely diminished by decoys and if I am not mistaken most SAM systems had optical sights. Ready to engage if NATO decided to engage military targets. And MANPAD is a SAM, isn't it? While, there is no question that some SAM sites and systems were destroyed, the fact is that NATO eventually gave up and decided to go for a peace treaty. Reminder: SAM = Stealth STOP!

No they were not completely supressed. That's the reason why A-10 had a 15 000 feet ceiling and NATO only engaged soft targets. Even NATO pilots were publicly talking (Discovery channel) about flying "smart" over Yugoslavia. They defined "smart" as high and fast. That's the reason they couldn't hit mobile targets and often hit civilian buses and agricultural tractors. I suggest you read the Newsweek magazine from May 15, 2000. It was written by John Barry and Even Thomas. The name of the article was ":The Kosovo cover up". Also, check the UK parliament commission, investigating the effectiveness of UK dumb bombs over Kosov and Metohija. More then 98% of bombs missed their target. Oh .. BTW SAM = Stealth STOP!

Hmm, go on ... Fist of all, it wasn't the SERBS, but YUGOSLAVIANS. In 1999, the name of the country was Yugoslavia! Thus, YUGOSLAVIANS, not only tried, but succeeded to preserve their assets. That's the reason NATO did not go in with ground invasion. What a nonsense! GG, Yugoslavian military defeated KLA within the first few days of NATO bombing campaign. Even Yugoslavian Air Force was flying over Kosovo AND Metohija (KiM) during the first few days of NATO bombing. After that, there was nobody else to fight in KiM. There was probably NATO special forces and markers among KLA, hiding in cities and villages, and they were hunted to the point that they were not very effective. Thus, there was no need to move heavy artillery back and forth. NATO was not engaging much with Yugoslavian military and most of NATO bombing was against infrastructure and soft targets. Such as the building of the Interior Ministry, which, when it was hit, caused damage to the LARGEST MATERNITY HOSPITAL on Balkan Peninsula. Nice!! BTW, Interior Ministry building was EMPTY. The purpose of the bombing had nothing to do with fighting against Yugoslavian military, but something else ... Yes, the SAM's were surpassed to some degree, but, you, GGTharos said a while ago, about the number of HARMS that were launched over Yugoslavia. Say it again GGTharos, it is all right. By the way, one of those HARMS missed ENTIRE COUNTRY of Yugoslavia and ended up hitting the house near, SOFIA, the Capital of Bulgaria. There is a reason why that happened. Of course, Yugoslavian military did not stand a chance against NATO, if NATO countries decided to DECLARE and fight the war against Yugoslavia. But, that did not happen. :huh: You will see. Just take a look around you. What is the price of food, gasoline, most goods and services ... Somebody will pay for the enormous debt our nations are accumulating. It is not sustainable to spend more then what you make.

That's exactly what I am talking about. Build 500 instead of 2500 over 30 to 40 years. It worked with F-15's, it can work with F-35's too. Reminder: SAM = Stealth STOP!

New is, not always but most of the time, better then old. And for that reason I do support F-35 program. But for god sake, why 2500 of it? Why do we have to borrow money from China and Saudi Arabia to build 2500 F-35's? I would say, we would be just fine with maybe 500. And then have a slew of much cheaper F-16, F-18 with latest sensors technology. This whole F-35 program, along with some other insane and unnecessary military programs, will make some people enormously rich, while putting the entire country on a brink of bankruptcy. I don't want to work the rest of my life to pay for unnecessary number of F-35's, when the job can be done with F-16. Just check the debt clock, 16.5 trillion and counting ....

I wonder where is the money going to come from? Isn't the UK national debt somewhere around 2 000 000 000 000 (two trillion) dollars? And that you have a budget deficit too?

Serbian news (RTS) reports that the engines are of Russian design, but it doesn't say who manufacutred them.

It would not surprise me to see PAK FA for aircraft carrier operations. Something similar as Su27 and Su-27K (Su-33).

China invaded Afghanistan and Iraq? Are you referring to "economical" invasion? BTW, in the past two decades or more, we have been fighting wars and using military for "democracy and human rights" (read "to advance our interest"), while Chinese quietly worked to establish trade with many countries, taking over almost entire continents ... Our debt is now more the 100% of our GDP and growing, our budget deficit is close to 30%, we did not avoid fiscal cliff (yet), our military budget is larger then entire world together, and our combined financial obligations is a number with 14 or 15 digits ... No country in the history of the world benefited from prolonged warfare.

I assume it is a radar radiation warning label. You don't want to stay in front of radar when it is turned on. It would be similar to being inside the microwave oven. BTW microwave ovens were successfully used as decoys for HARM's.

I don't think this is a big deal. They had a pipe or hose that was leaking or completely failed. Luckily, nobody got hurt. They'll fix this ... My question is, what in the world do we need F-35B for? We have 12 carriers and countries (many of them corrupt) that allow us to use runways all throughout the world. Why are we spending billions, and billions and billions of dollars on VTOL? Who's going to buy this airplane?
