  1. Well, something actuates the control surfaces, thus actuators are there. The question is what kind and how do they work?
  2. However, DCS is not a game, it is a simulator. Black Shark is a simulator as well. Real simulators used by real military pilots. And you get that for $60 bucks. Multi-threading was present in Flaming Cliffs and DCS for many years. And you do get multi-core software engine in DCS. DX 11 is not there yet, but this is not a FPS game for kids. All in all you get a lot for $60 dollars.
  3. In a (very) recent use of military by NATO countries, more then 20 000 sorties were flown and 17 confirmed mobile targets (tanks, APC, etc...) were destroyed. The other side exercised very high discipline in masking positions and vehicles and used many, many decoys (electric heaters in junk yard cars, microwave ovens, models made of playwood, junk yard cars with pipes through winshild and etc ...) to full the attackers. Not all 20 000 sorties were SEAD, but in real life, it is very difficult to spot mobile military ground targets.
  4. As always, 51st squad leads in creativity and exploration of FC and DCS series on line playing. I am returning home from a business trip and hope will be able to try 51st GCI server later this evening.
  5. I use keyboard shortcut all the time for controlling the Data Link. It works with default keys with no problem what so ever. Something is wrong with your keyboard, keyboard language or setup.
  6. By now, ED has established itself as the best in the world developer of Modern Combat Flight Simulators for PC's. That reputation will be enhanced as soon as A/10 is released. Nevertheless, soon after A-10 is released, ED will have to make some tough decisions if military contracts do not arrive soon enough. I sincerely hope that ED has a plan B. And I hope either plan A (military contract) or plan B will be announced soon after A-10 is released. Reminder: SAM = Stealth STOP!
  7.  Is there "the funnies post" ladder somewhere?
  8. This looks really nice!!
  9. "Of course it is real! I saw it in that movie ..." This was the response of a teacher in a classroom. The question/discussion was about American pilot, Scott O'Grady. Conclusion; if it is in the Hollywood movie, that it is real!
  10. My older son is at the second year of software engineering studies. Younger son is planning to also take on university level education. Two sons at the university will cost about $160 000, yes, one hundred and sixty thousand dollars. And these are not private universities. I am and will be in debt for foreseeable future. With that kind of cost of education, we are loosing to China and India who produce way more engineers (and probably scientists). This will be the first year ever that China is filing more patents then USA. There is no doubt in my mind that India will follow soon.
  11. It was a dead mosquito on your canopy. After getting birds into a simulation, ED decided to include mosquitoes as well! :)
  12. Hajduk Veljko (Petrović) is a local hero who fought Ottoman empire until the day he died in a famous battle not far from where I use to live in Serbia. Legend says that his words before the battle was "Glavu dajem, krajinu ne dajem" (I'll give my life, but will not give my land (to Ottomans)).
  13. British Broadcasting Company (BBC) is government funded and controlled media organization. I have never lived in UK and can not comment on BBC-UK, but BBC international, in my view is ... I am sure there was bits and pieces of the F-117 that could be analyzed. But I don't think that those pieces gave anything revolutionary to Russia and China. After all, the stealth technology (shape wise) originated in Russia.
  14. Who is the person on this calendar? Jurij Gagarin (my wild guess)?
  15. What do they mean by "spare parts"? Didn't you send them the entire throttle assembly?
  16. Resellers of the TM Warthog should offer an option of replacement warranty, at additional cost. I replaced several Saiteks at local Best Buy that way.
  17. I wish there somebody will translate this video in English.
  18. Take off profile seemed to be very conservative, thus no need for afterburners. I assume the airplane was nor fully fueled up either.
  19. It is a big risk to have a very first flight broadcasted live. It is either that this is not the very first flight or again, they are taking a big risk.
  20. Good effort to spread the FC/DCS world!
  21. I see those numbers as well. And I don't know what mathematics is applied to come upt with the number like that. If a budget is about $300 billions and the number of airplanes produced about 2500 then the cost per piece is about $120 million? Maybe, they are counting on producing 5000 F-35's. Is there a market for 5000 F-35's?
  22. F-35 now costs $135 million apiece. F-22 is about $360 million apiece!? WOW! Defense Secretary Puts F-35 on "Probation" as Part of Budget Cuts
  23. It wasn't me who insisted on that "level" of proof. BTW, let us stay on subject. Pictures please! :smilewink:
