  1. I do not expect ED to have a dedicated phone support. It is close to impossible to have a phone support for this kind of product and user base. I can see ED having a phone support for their military customers. Military can afford that kind of expense and military organization and discipline provides a solid structure to make the phone support effective.
  2. Who bought Cirrus?
  3. There is no similarity whatsoever. Here's the screen shot of what I see when NVG are turned on. It is obvious that BS is trying to render the cockpit across more then one monitor. Its a bug.
  4. Good video Mastiff. That is exactly what is happening in my case as well.
  5. My point was that I thought DCS and FC2 are running on more then one CPU core? Was I wrong?
  6. This is one of the posts that refers to sound working on a separate core that led me to think cores, rather then threads: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=997096&postcount=6 Now take a look at this post from a ED software developer of the sound engine. He is talking about threads (two for sound) but is recommending multiple core processors. If the threads are running on a separate core, than we can say that DCS software engine is using more then one core. I don't really know if all three threads are running on a single or multiple number of cores in DCS and FC2. http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=855822&postcount=28
  7. You call yourself a translator? Obviously, you did not understand my second sentence.
  8. Hmmm .... This is very interesting ... I am looking at the Wags DCS A-10C Warthog FAQ and indeed he is talking about threads. I am sure that in the past, I saw a statement that updated BS as well as A-10 sounds were designed to work on a separate core!? How and when did we loose a core in favor of a thread?
  9. So, US Cost Guard pilots and Russian Air Force pilots are playing games? F4AF (whatever AF stands for) is dead, long live DCS!
  10. If it would be easy, every piece of software would be coded for multicore. But it is not easy and as you say, very few games are using more then a single core. DCS is using two cores. The other two cores may be running TeamSpeak, TiR5, all kind of hardware drivers, antivirus, other windows that are open (such as A-10 pdf manual), network services and etc ... Do you really believe that developers are so stupid that they are not taking "this" into consideration?
  11. Hostility, where? You use the word "only" when describing how many cores the simulation engine is using. My point is that a lots of people complaining about the simulation engine without a real understanding what it takes to make something work within buget and time limitation.
  12. Well, yes, the game engine could be better. There are only two limitations to make it better. Time and money. Within these two limitations you get simulators, BS and A-10, that are currently used by actual military to train their pilots. So, if you can do better, I'll be more then happy to pay you $60 for your product. In the mean time, save some money, select components wisely, and build you a rig that will up for the task. And yes, demand better from ED, but within reason.
  13. DCS uses two cores, one for sound and the second for the rest of sim engine. BS and A-10 workd pretty well on my rig.
  14. Here's how this problem looks on my monitors set up:
  15. It doesn't look like anything is happening with this problem?
  16. You have a right to believe. Flanker also does not have any loses.
  17. F-15 has never fought against an aircraft of the same class. F-15 have often had numerical advantage over lower generation/lower class of aircraft it fought. F-15 often had tactical advantage (AWACS) over lower class aircraft it fought. And yes, F-15 is really good aircraft, and was probably the best air superiority fighter for a while. But one must put its success into a proper perspective.
  18. 1. Works perfect on Win7 64bit. BS works flawlessly and extremely stable, never have any problems with it.
  19. If you fly one of the airplanes I am on, please make sure you buy a spare battery as well!
  20. First, buy joystick. While it is possible to control aircraft with keyboard, it is indeed waste of time trying to play FC/DCS without joystick.
  21. This all is about jobs, not about which one of the two is better.
  22. Excellent post! While I purchased A-10, I did not take it as enthusiastic as when Black Shark came out. I mostly fly BS. I can not wait for compatibility patch.
