  1. Perfect time for updating RWR-s databases. :)
  2. Kaktus29 idea is actually very interesting. I too was thinking in that direction. Think of having passive receivers, such as EOS, on buildings roof tops. Have a simple processing unit process the signal and all that networked over the internet.
  3. I don't think some posts here are to downplay American aircraft. MiG 31 is such a special aircraft with very specific combat mission to fulfill. That's why it is very unique and it is the only one in its own class. There are many American aircraft that nobody else in the world has and will never have. Those airplanes rule their own domain and because of their uniqueness, they actually have their own class, just like MiG 31. By the way, when Kuky compared radar capabilities of the F-14 and MiG 31, there is no denying that MiG 31's radar capability far surpass F-14's. The volume of air scanned buy MiG 31 radar is multiple times higher then what F-14 radars can do. This info is not secret and is publicly available. This by no means "underestimates" American aircraft. It simply is a fact that MiG 31's radar is that good. I don't see any problem accepting that some other nation can build a piece of military hardware that is that good.
  4. That's all right.
  5. The class is called MiG-31. Here is one of the several capabilities that makes this incredible aircraft to be in its own class. MiG-31 can act as an AWACS for all Russian built aircraft that have data link capabilities. In data link mode, four MiG 31 flying in a 600km wide formation can cover incredible, 800km wide and several hundred kilometers deep air space. All data linked together and providing target information to MiG's and SUkhois in the area. And of course, at the the same time being able to shoot B-52 at 30 000 feet and cruise missile it launched at flying at 3000 feet. SR71 is in its own class and nothing on earth can come close to it. Just like MiG-31, SR71 established its own class Check this book: Mikoyan MiG-31
  6. You know GG, I am sure some kids here will believe everything you say, however, you do realize that there are adults on this forum as well, right? It took dozens of airplanes in the air when B-2 dropped bombs on Chinese embassy in Belgrade. There was refueling, SEAD, fighter escort, electronic countermeasure aircraft in the air for B-2 to do that job. That single B-2 mission, I assume, was in the price range of tens of thousands of dollars, or maybe even over a $100K. I am positive that there is no military planner in the world that would send B-2 out without escort, so that MiG-21 can kill it with couple of R-50's ... Reminder: SAM = Stealth STOP!
  7. Research, surveillance, combat use, maintaining technological edge, prestige ... to name few.
  8. MiG 31 has been an aircraft in its own class. It might be that the MiG 41 will establish yet another untouchable class.
  9. This is really cool mission. Also, anybody who has a chance should visit NASA Space Center in Houston. To experience incredible engineering and achievement of man and women in space exploration.
  10. Quick check at Saitek store, and it looks like Rhino is available all over Europe, and it is still on pre-order in USA? Wow, what is one to say?
  11. Wow. Amazon USA still says April 2nd for me. And I pre-ordered in January.
  12. I sure hope the first X-55 stick will be for the MiG-21. I will buy it right away.
  13. On my way back from a Mexico business trip few months ago, I spent a day i Tuscon, AZ. I visited Pima air and space museum and the A-10's were taking off and flying all over the museum grounds. It was cool to watch them climbing and catching up formation ...
  14. We are splitting hair here. While the "load-out is certainly not realistic for operational use", it is perfectly accurate in real life. Thus I give it 10 out of 10, short of using a vernier caliper to measure every measurable part on it to confirm the scale.
  15. 200 bucks is not much money. If you can make a HOTAS that is much better then Saitek, for the same money, I'll buy it right away.
  16. No company can use my, yours or its own money in unlawful way. That's the point with Beczl situation.
  17. What you are saying here is that, eventually, it is possible to use more then two types of weapons, but precision/effectiveness will suffer because the weapons computer can not handle it. In such cases, some of the weapons will have to be employed using CETKA. Well, that still makes it realistic to life load out, but may not be used due to the lack of precision/effectiveness. Thus, the model is accurate.
  18. OK. So, you are are saying that Su-25 and Su25B can not have more then two different types of weapons under the wings at the same time?
  19. So, Danvac, you haven't read the "Indiegogo terms of use" before you made your post? :smilewink:
  20. While we do not have evidence, we do have a public testimony and statement from the newly formed company representative. And Beczl is nowhere to be seen. I gave my money given to a company called " beczl Studios", that had registered office at "Veszprem Jutasi u 67/A 2/3 8200 Hungary". I am not questioning the team internal contracts and agreements. I haven't speculated at all. I only stated facts for which there is a written proof. I have already pledged additional $100 to the Leatherneck Simulations and MiG-21BIS project and will support them in any way I can.
  21. I don't understand your point? Are you saying the Su25UB can not use the AAM (I assume the abbreviation means Air to Air Missile) and cannon? The Su-25UB was a combat training variant of Su25. Thus the "UB" stands for "Uchebno-Boyevoy", combat trainer. BTW there is no need for the ballistic calculation to fire the heat seeker IR missile.
