  1. Having the ability to make a group that contains vehicles from different categories would be extremely useful. For example, if I had a convoy of unarmoured trucks I could give them AA and tank escorts in the same group. That way they could communicate with each other and would follow a route determined in the ME at the same speed and the same spacing.
  2. I was able to use my LSS for another Harrier's laser, so it doesn't seem to be broken.

  5. DCS as a whole is pretty RAM hungry. It takes as much as it can get. Try lowering your preload radius maybe?
  6. I'm pretty sure the only thing the map can max out is your GPU's VRAM. I also have a 1070, and in my experience, Syria takes as much VRAM as it can get. If you want to increase your GPU utilization though you might want to change up the settings a bit. Syria might just be better optimized for come graphical settings which is why you get higher utilization on other maps.
  7. I really enjoy the easter egg, but maybe they could remove about half of them just so they aren't EVERYWHERE. It would also make the easter egg more interesting if they were pretty rare.
  8. As stated in the title of this post, will players be able to occupy the flight engineer slot? I am not saying that we should or shouldn't have a flight engineer modelled, just curious. I was watching a walkaround video of the Hind, and the guy mentioned that the flight engineer can replace fuses if one blows in flight. This got me wondering if someone/an AI (like Petrovich) would be able to fulfill flight engineer tasks.
  9. Hello - My game constantly freezes in the MP Server Browser if I am in the menu for more than a minute or two. The only workaround I have found that can mitigate the issue is setting a ping limit to limit how many servers are visible, but that doesn't always work. I think if the browser would limit the number of servers loaded at a time to 100-500, the issue would be fixed. Then, if we needed to search for more, we could either scroll down to load 50-100 more servers, or we could search for the server directly with the search bar. So, can we get an option in the settings to limit how many servers load at a time? Thanks, Aero
  10. I totally agree, CAS missions are possible, but in the current sim I feel like it takes too much scripting, which doesn't allow for dynamic scenarios between aircraft and the ground. Also, to be fair, that mission that you posted was only possible because the entire server was cooperating on one mission, which works for squadron missions. I guess I was thinking more about public servers with scattered ground targets and objectives, or even single player missions. If you were to attempt that missions in singleplayer, it would be very complicated and require a lot of scripting. Maybe I am just on the wrong servers though.
  11. IMO, the original argument brought up in this thread is valid. Currently, it feels like DCS favors dropping bombs onto tanks from high up and then returning to base, rather than supporting troops in a dynamic ground battle. Even in CAS aircraft like the A-10 or the Harrier, missions (usually) feel more like strike missions than CAS missions. I think DCS just needs a better ground war environment. Something like Arma or Squad comes to mind. After all, it is Digital Combat Simulator World, not DCS Airplane. Whether this entails expanding CA to include more in depth infantry fighting, or a JTAC interface for CA so that players can dynamically assign targets and 9 Lines, or any other improvement to ground ops, the CAS/troop environment in DCS certainly has a lot of potential. In any case, CAS helo's like the Hind or airplanes like the Warthog sort of feel out of place in the current sim.

  13. Hello, With the addition of the Syria map, the missions and battles that we can now simulate are going to be more complicated than the simple RedFor vs BlueFor that we have in game. Some people are having issues with the current 2 factions. Could we get a way to add more coalitions if we want to? For example, putting NATO into one coalition, and assigning them to blue icons. Then, putting insurgents into another coalition, and assigning them grey icons. Then, assigning Iran and Russia into another coalition, and assigning their units to red icons. This would allow for much more complicated missions, and would be extremely useful.
  14. maybe an option to add coalitions, not just countries to a mission would useful. I can put that into the DCS wishlist. Hopefully it will be an easy QoL feature to add and won't cause any issue.
  15. oooh, that would be cool. However, that would probably require ED to release the terrain tools, which they definitely do not want to do (for now).
  16. I was looking around the Syria map for a spot to put some targets and found this 'perfect' cluster of buildings with roads that led to no where. It's in grid CS69. I'm guessing that isn't supposed to be there, so I'm putting it on the forums before it is forgotten about and left in the full release.
  17. If you need a key to switch over to Win10, there are plenty of sites where you can get extremely cheap keys (I got one for $10) online. A lot of companies buy bulk keys and then resell the extra for cheap.

  19. As someone who has put in many nights of practice to learn AAR, I find this would be extremely useful from a training perspective. It is hard to learn how to do AAR just from videos and handbooks, but if you could press a button so that the computer could take control while you follow its motions through the controls indicator, it would be a lot easier to learn.
  20. I had this happen to me yesterday and today in the A-10. It is very annoying! I hope they fix it soon. I think I found a fix. If you hold your brakes, then spool up to max power, then release brakes, it seemed to get the plane unstuck.
  21. I don't think the barriers should be removed, but it would be better if they didn't allow you to spawn vehicles on them.
  22. For the initial test, my deadzone was at 0. I set it to 20 and now it seems to be working fine. Thanks, that must have been the issue. Sorry for the false report, I never realized how sensitive my stick was!
