This is really nice, he gets better and better. And I'm really looking forward to the L-39.

Just spoke with Key Publishing, unfortunately this is currently only planned for a digital release. Doesn't make much sense given that it would be ideal to have a hard copy you can read as you play. But he did say that may change. I'll keep checking and report back if it changes.

You're welcome.

Have to say I agree with the last couple of pages, Oculus has always been the big player, an while I'm keeping all options open, I am more optimistic about the Vive for gaming. We all knew the acquisition by Facebook would either raise the game significantly, or deviate attention away from gaming as a primary goal. It seems others have caught up for sure, likely moved ahead unless Oculus have something new to show soon. Still, I wouldn't write it off at all just yet, and there are other contenders that may surprise us yet.

We go years without a decent space sim, and then they arrive like buses. And I couldn't be happier. This new EVE trailer has certainly got my attention!! www.evevalkyrie.com

Recorded in VR... I can't wait until we have these things in our homes with games like this to use on them!

Just got an email for this and thought it might be useful for some of us. It is all of their tutorials in one place essentially. Even as a long time subscriber I'm going to pick this up, I've put off learning so much of this excellent module and having it all in one handy reference mag might help me out. For people new to DCS, this could be very helpful indeed... Presumably the physical copy will be on the Key publishing site and in your local WH Smiths shortly. http://www.pocketmags.com/viewmagazine.aspx?catid=1030&category=Aviation+%26+Transport&subcatid=188&subcategory=Aviation&title=Aviation+Specials&titleid=790&dm_i=4JU,39CB9,1T4ZDI,BO0XF,1

4K would be great in a VR headset... if it runs on the average gaming system.
-
Seems that way. I'm liking the look of the Vave/HTC set, but I have no vested interest in any tbh. I'm just a consumer that wants the best VR headset with a high res screen and an immersive experience. Therefor I'll be watching how all of them progress and I'll decide which one to get down the line. I hope ED supports them all.

DCS: F-14A/A+/B by Heatblur Simulations coming to DCS World!
Python replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Not necessarily, not outside the US at least. The P-51d probably has a bigger following for starters. I'm more excited for the Eurofighter and the F-18, mainly because I like to get down low and fast. But that doesn't mean I'm not very much looking forward to this. You're right that sales won't be an issue here. Talk of it being $100 is just madness, a trend has been set and the prices are fair for what we get. Make it that kind of money and new players would be scared away, as would some of us. People with money to burn could always ask to donate. -
Hmmm, I have one 250gb Corsair Force 3 SSD for my operating system and DCS along with a few other programs. And a 1TB HDD for everything else. My SSD is pretty much full. I was thinking of replacing the SSD with a larger Samsung one as I have a few issues I can't resolve on my system, nothing major, just some annoyances like programs not showing up in my control panel so I can't uninstall them! And I sometimes get warnings about my PC not closing down properly. Maybe I should just reformat that one and use it only for my Windows though with a fresh install, and add the larger SSD to a different drive. Any thoughts? I had BF4 on my SSD but moved it to my HDD due to space requirements.... I now spend more time watching loading screens than playing, it is unbelievable the difference it makes. With my SSD I was generally the first player to spawn, now the match is well underway by the time I join.

Me too!

Meanwhile, others are catching up, or have even overtaking already in the case on Valve, depending who you listen too.
-
Me too, I may even use DCS2 as an excuse to upgrade to a larger SSD.

Haven't tried it, but it looks like this may be fixed... http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2345792#post2345792 .

Interesting... And weird to see.

Just posted a link in the valve thread, but I imagine most people aren't aware of it yet. It seems the Valve headset is very good indeed... http://www.pcgamer.com/steamvr-hands-on-valve-overtakes-oculus/

I am one of those people who paid the full $60 for the A-10c.... right after the beta ended! It is unfortunate, but it is what it is. That promise of a free map wasn't there for us when we purchased the A-10c so why are you expecting them to give you it? I'm annoyed at the prospect of spending more money of course, but having seen Glowing Amraam and Matts videos, it seems an easy decision to make. A lot of work has clearly gone into them and they will transform DCS: World no end.... I'm in.
-
Yeah, I saw that. Upgrading the screen shouldn't be overly difficult however if they can get the rest together, which it seems they are doing. Sidenote, I have the HTC one M8 phone, it is excellent! But the screen doesn't compare to the screens on the Samsung Galaxies I had previously, I have no idea what they are using in this but they may want to look elsewhere.

Apparently this is better than the rift currently... http://www.pcgamer.com/steamvr-hands-on-valve-overtakes-oculus/

This is awesome news! -
I have the Blu ray of this, It was okay if you want to see some F-14 action, but a much better show imo was Jetstream made by the discovery channel, it focused on Canadian F-18's and was really good.

Hope so, it is named VIVE... http://www.pcgamer.com/valves-vr-headset-is-named-vive-and-htc-are-making-it/
