That doesn't surprise me tbh, we always get screwed over on price conversions. The Asus Rog Swift for example is about £650 here.. barf! Could order from the USA but then I'd get hit with import fees etc, just doesn't work out.

My apologies first of all, I completely forgot to post this yesterday when it mattered most and a search of the forum didn't show any other threads. For anybody that did miss it, I'll post a link below where it can be viewed online, or just wait for the inevitable repeat on channel 4 HD on which it looked great. So who saw this? I'm a fan of Guy Martin anyway so I was excited about this and it certainly didn't disappoint. Seeing how they build an original MK.1 Spitfire was very interesting. And the aerial footage was fantastic! There was a flyby at the end of the video that made my hairs stand on end (about 1.08hrs in the link.) I love the DCS: P51d, but I agree, I'd love to see some better sounds for the start up and general flying, sound is just as big a factor as visuals imo when it comes to immersion. Thanks for the videos OP. I'll have a look now.

Me too, Corsair Force 3 with no issues so far. I'd never go back to a HDD for my OS or DCS now. I am planning on getting another though and given the choice now I'd get the Samsung 840 pro.

Yeah, finding the S key was a huge relief after the introduction of the pfm ;) I keep meaning to map it to a more convenient control. Does anybody know where it is in the real thing?

We have cockpit vibrations now, take the F-15c up for a spin if you have it and you will soon notice them, very nice they are too. As for visual effects, they have been in demand for quite a while, especially vapour and water on the canopy etc. I'm sure ED will look into such things once EDGE is implemented, if they haven't already.

I've never actually upgraded an os before, always changed with a completely new PC, is it a huge job?

I get a steady 90fps with my GTX680, only the occasional sutters during heavy weapon releases and around built up bases etc. I do wonder if a 9 series will improve my performance much, the extra ram might help over my 2gb card I guess. I'd be interested to hear the results from anybody that moves from a 680 to either the 970 or 980..

Fitting a blackout blind did help a lot of my troubles to be fair. I also got the pro clip recently but have only used it for one quick session so can't say if it has helped much (it is certainly the cheapest feeling expensive piece of hardware I own!) I would like to see more fov if nothing else from the next model. One of their customer service people told me not so long ago that they aren't planning another yet however. Maybe he just wasn't in the know though...

Anything that improves spotting in DCS can only be a good thing, nice work.

BTD is awesome! The individual themes for modules within DCS World is a real nice touch imo and he's done a great job. I'm looking forward to the F-15 and SU-27 soundtracks being added.

Well, while I don't agree with that kind of generalising attitude, it is of course your decision, just remember when you're admiring that lovely Mig 21, much of the exterior model was created by an EX US Marine... That kind of irony makes me smile.
