Happy to read today that EDGE might not be too far off, the Hawk loves to get down low and fast and I'm really looking forward to doing so with more detailed scenery.

I'd rather ED and the third party developers modeled the aircraft sounds in all their glory, if people choose to use ear plugs while playing as a real life pilot would, well that's up to them ;) I don't like to complain too much about DCS as I love it tbh, but sound is one of the weak links in DCS for me generally, it isn't bad but it isn't great either. I look forward to any improvements in this area. Side note, that Lotus sim L-39 was excellent! One of the best addons I ever had for FSX, it even had rain drops on the canopy... :music_whistling:

Tornado will be awesome, we know VEAO are making one so it will be flyable eventually whether those in the pictures are or not. Great news about the SU-27 being almost ready, great news all around in this update in fact, made for nice viewing.

I haven't received this yet, didn't get one yesterday about the Hawk either that Skate mentioned..

Looks equally as nice to me, the background doesn't really count until we see an F-15c in similar shots.

I agree, 970 for me, it is going to run everything I throw at it anyway, heck... my 680 still does! I'll go for SLI only if EDGE demands it. I thing one 970 will probably suffice though.

Have you applied the latest driver? It isn't showing for me either but I realised there is an update which I'm downloading now. It includes DSR in the description. EDIT: Update applied, it is now showing.

I was reading about his with interest recently, glad to hear it might actually be viable. I have a GTX-680 and a 1920x1080 screen, I'll give it a try.

Going to install this now, I'm a casual Heli fan and tend to just bomb around at low level pretending I'm carrying Dutch and his team while blasting out long tall sally. It's about time I practiced hovering a bit.

You'll need a mighty system to run DCS at 4k, I'm interested to hear the answer myself however, I am considering upgrading to the Asus Rog swift Gsync monitor. Not quite 4k but it's better than my current 1080p set up which just doesn't work well with DCS when it comes to spotting.

I had my PC built by a great company, but on reflection I do wish I'd done it myself as I would have saved a fortune. This one is good for a few more years yet with updates, but next time I need a new set up I'll be buying the parts and building it. The parts CaptainPecan listed are a very good start, best of luck.

Get all of the dust out of your GPU, be sure to dig in to the fan, it's surprising how much gets in there. Failing that, try reinstalling all of the drivers.

Lucky you ;) Congratulations though. One thing I would suggest you consider is SLI 970s over a single 980. We do know that EDGE will make use of multiple GPU's. I think I'm going to get a single Gigabyte 970 G1 now and see how that goes, if EDGE demands it I'll add another down the line.

Ideally we'd all like to do this of course, but the truth is we really don't know when EDGE will release. It could be next week, or it could be after the next series of Nvidea GPU's are released. As Cichlid said, it seems fair to assume these 9 series cards will perform better than whatever they are replacing anyway.
