ILS Flight Director Influenced by Course Selector
AJaromir replied to Joni's topic in Bugs and Problems
Looks like you are right. The course seting is not needed for ILS. But for VOR/TACAN is needed. There is difference between heading and course. The VOR/TACAN are independent on INS because those are fixed ground point and providing information about azimuth and distance between the VOR/TACAN and aircraft. By course knob you just set the azimuth between VOR and yourself which you want to hold or check, not the heading. Also this is the difference between the NDB and VOR/TACAN. NDB is just provides the direction to beacon but not the azimuth/distance. VOR/TACAN will tell you your geographic coordinates without need to have compass. -

Actually every aircraft that I know needs the course input to work properly with the VOR/TACAN/ILS -
ILS Flight Director Influenced by Course Selector
AJaromir replied to Joni's topic in Bugs and Problems
I don't uderstand then. Because this is how it in DCS works for years. You just set the runway course into HSI and the flight director bars on ADI are compensating the deviation caused by the crosswind. Just like I've wrote. That makes landings much easier. And that is how flight director should work. -
ILS Flight Director Influenced by Course Selector

Well IMHO, there is difference between the HSI course deviation bars and ADI flight director bars. The deviation bars works only with the ILS signal. But IMO the flight director can not operate properly without knowing the runway direction. Because when there is the crosswind and the system does not know the runway course, it will navigate you with the deviation caused by crosswind. But when the system knows the runway course, it can compensate this deviation caused by wind. -
Looks like the LOD error

[REPORTED] Ground units not illuminated by road lamps.
AJaromir replied to D4n's topic in Object Bugs
This also applies to aircrafts. Screenshot taken in 2.5.1 -
Same here. Tried now in 2.5.1 ILS not working. Also the steering bars not working 100% perfectly with the TACAN. The steering bars navigates me with the deviation from desired course. I will check some other aircrafts like F-15 if the ILS works correctly. In Russian aircrafts like SU-25T or SU-27 it works properly. Edit: found that in some MP servers the ILS works properly.

Thank you all for answer.

Good day. In the manual, page 239 is written: I don't understand this sentense. Does it mean: 1) I have to turn on NAV mode at least 2 minutes before take off? 2) I have to take off in 2 minutes after the turning on the NAV mode? Thank you for answer.

Just uninstall release and download the new 2.5 release installer. It will not download anything. The updater is smart enough to copy data from already installed OpenBeta root folder.

Falcon, I can not agree but not at all. (Just I agree but not at all) I am "cooperating" with the mission Creator for not mentioned server which is in my eyes the best training servers and running on very powerfull rig. There is not so much targets but there are scripts that they can respawm the targets once they are destroyed or you can spawm your own via special radio menu. Also this respawming causes short freezes. And I guess the units are not loaded in memory until they are "physically" on the battlefield. Also I wonder to know why taking the screenshot will sometimes freeze the game for all players.

Just some modules can have tons of polygons or really superhigh textures resolution. E.G. once the Mig-21 was released, it had really damn a lot polygons which were heavily reduced because they caused the heavy HW load.
-
And how about to make something like the "slowed" or "delayed" loading? For Imagination:
-
Well, I am not the programmer. (at least I am not programming the PC software but PLCs) In a lot of other games I saw that a lot of things are just not loaded "right now" but "step by step" I hope you understand what do I mean. Just if someone joins the server, his aircraft just can be loaded in the meantime and not at once. You can see in some games that the textures are not loaded immediately but in the meantime their resolution is slowly increasing but the game does not freeze. I hope you understand what do I mean. And yes, programming is really difficult job and maybe the devs know where is the problem. I am sorry if I have offended someone. I am just guessing what causes the freezes. Just to imagine what I mean:
-
Yes.

Well, now I look like I lied because this 1.15 won't allow me to write an argument :( It is just analogous. In the 2011 having more than 4GB of RAM was just wasting money. Now it is more than 32

(OT) I have 4*4GB DDR4 for sale. Price is 150USD+shipping, EU only https://www.kingston.com/datasheets/HX424C12PB2K4_16.pdf (/OT)
-
I have 64 gigs of RAM (yesterday I've got them). So i Turned off the page file. The RAM usage is not going over 35% in Budy Spike server. Still there is a lot of freezes when someone connects or leave the server or spamming in aircraft.

Heavy mission just means there is a lot of units or scripts, e.t.c. that causes high RAM usage. The same problem had IL-2 1946 (and still have - more units - more RAM usage) Just guys, please, it is not difficult to understand what does it mean. ;)

They are the same. https://updates.digitalcombatsimulator.com/

I think it is not. Memory leak is when the memory usage is uncontrolably increasing until its maximum. Something like cancer. But in the latest version of DCS the memory usage is stable. So it is not the memory leak, I guess. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Memory_leak
-
Open beta is right now just the same build like stable - https://updates.digitalcombatsimulator.com/ The memory leak is "fixed" by changing the minimum and recommended system requirements https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/world/stable/

Aircraft lights/strobes viewing distance is way too low
AJaromir replied to howie87's topic in View and Spotting Bugs
Also aircraft landing and taxi lights in the night are useless.
