  1. Patience, Obi Wan... Lol, dont worry the Force is with me. ahhhh... Episode III is almoooooosssttt there.... are we there yet? are we there yet? are we there yet? are we there yet? lol.... :P
  2. suits me. Thank you for keeping us up to date. tell us something when you can.
  3. i am aware of that Caretaker... i was only asking for matters to be addressed. right now, ED is contributing to confusion instead of the opposite. and no, i did not make that post in a negative way. :) peace...
  4. Who said you have to? ;) who said we didn´t??? that´s why ED needs to CLARIFY this once and for all. nobody said we had to pay again, but again nobody said we didn´t. how hard is it to make things clear? why sarcastic comments like "who said you have to?" when there is NOTHING official stating the contrary... i know you are not being evil ( ) when you said that... but it´s so easy to make things clear that i really don´t understand why they don´t do it...
  5. i would appreciate a full clarifying statement from ED. PRECISE Rules Of Engagement, if you like it... i REALLY, REALLY want to buy FC... but i´d rather be OVER-informed than the alternative... what is 40% change in hardware? what will happen is the 3 activations are used? i work in the IT business, so i upgrade a LOT... will i be able to get another 3 upon proof of purchase? is it really that hard to REALLY clarify people? :?
  6. Sure it can fill the gap...but it is to much expensive to be an ALTERNATIVE solution :D remember we need at least 15 figther to be used in anapolis and the first bacth of FX was suposed to be only 12 figthers so....there is no way the gripen can be choosed if this was the intention why not just finish teh FX  cya the expensive part is debatable... Saab is very cooperative about the Gripen... contrary to US, UK and others, they are very open to licensing and local production... considering the knowledge that would be transfered to Brasil to produce the Gripen and the jobs that would create along with the boost it would give to Brasilian know-how in producing a Fourth-Generation aircraft can help downsize the costs... plus even with licensing costs, they would use local raw materiel, which would generate indirect jobs, etc...

  8. let´s wait and see what ED comes up with...
  9. they have sold AMRAAM´s to most of their allies... including Portugal and Egypt (i think)....
  10. if the F-16 gets the MLU to current standards it is surely the best choice... it´s a proven airframe and very versatile... A2A and A2G modes... plenty of spares... the Mirage 2k i don´t know how the support and development is going... but it´s much more expensive than the F-16... the Su-27 may be better than the F-16 but it´s more expensive and lacks A2G capabilty... Just my thoughts...
  11. i would pay 50$ or more for a CD version + printed manual...
  12. errr... they have the clips and dots... i´ve just bought a few more alongside a TrackIR 3 Pro + VE for a friend... they don´t have is the carry pouch... and that for me is very handy... :) EDIT: i have bought heavy books on the US of A and paid around 9$ to have them shipped to Portugal... USPS standard shipping... sure it takes time... but that way i might still buy a carry pouch... but 60$ for UPS (i think) shipping... ouch... i have even bought a copy of Falcon 3 on Ebay that was shipped from Canada to Portugal (and it´s more than a kilogram) by express mail for 12$. received it in 4 days... anyway, thank you for your reply. i have only good things to say about NaturalPoint and Edimensional.
  13. i will vote with my wallet when the time comes... and right now it can be either way... but after Wags post i have renewed confidence in ED. i accept that SF in Demo without warning was an oversight and that they are trying to find suitable alternatives.
  14. TrackIR 3 Pro + VE here... and i really don´t know how i lived without it until today... though if i may add something... i bought mine from Edimensional because they have offices in the UK, so shipping is cheaper and there isn´t the legal hassles of importing stuff... also bought their voicebuddy headset and software and it´s great for voice commands in flight sims... but their accessories list for TrackIR lacks what should (i think) come standard with it... the carry bag... :D i´ve seen it on the NaturalPoint´s site and even though i would take the chance to get another mounting clip or two and some spare dots when i was making the checkout, i realised that almost 60$ for shipping doesn´t really cut it for the carry pouch... anyway it can be bought cheaper? i have also shown mine working here in Portugal to friends and fellow hobbie players and several have bought also... they had no idea such a thing existed... ;) Thank you.
  15. Good to have an update. i am expecting news anxiously. Thank you for sharing the information with us.
  16. Accoding to most licenses, you have a right to install one purshased copy of game on one PC only. And yes, if you will buy 1 add-on you'll violate lincense and you will need to spend your 3 activation on your 3 PCs. Very funny, actually :) I always have a good laugh, when I see how people concern about their privacy and security in internet without any basic knowledge of what they are worry for. It's funny when people catch few IE cookies, and immediatly re-format and re-install PC, just because some useless "spyware search programs" called those cookies as a "spyware" :D Believe me, SF has nothing with your "new spyware" findings. Just try to not visit "18-years-only" sites and install a good firewall :) And if you don't believe me, then read or ask other experts, a good system\networks programmers prefferable. Nothing personal, AnzacPT. Please don't take it as offence. well, depending on the EULA, you are right and wrong. Microsoft Licenses SYSTEMS, not users, but many software is licensed to a USER not a machine. that way i can install software in my systems. it´s like having 3 stereos, are you going to buy 3 cd´s of each so that you can use in each stereo? but anyway, this is besides the point... as for the rest, i´m not offended, but maybe next time you might try the analogy with a real teenager, not an almost 30 year old IT manager. i know what i´m talking about. and if you READ my post correctly, i never STATED that it was FC DEMO/Starforce that caused it, i said that it was a possibility. if i stop getting spyware (and it was spyware, i can give you my log) then nuff said, right? what i would like someone answered me would be what would happen when Starforce goes out of business...
  17. well... just my 2 cents here, ok? i will investigate Starforce better and wait for an official ED statement before i make my mind. no, i don´t like having had Starforce installed in my system with the demo without my knowledge. i´m not particularly worried about open doors, etc. but i am disgusted that a (possible) data collection program IS on my system. i don´t know what it collects and how that information is sent or not to whom. i use my computer a lot for netbanking so i AM worried. another question for multiple system users... i have 3 systems right now, will i be able to use FC on them without exhausting the 3 Activation/whatever keys? i know that MS uses "similar" systems, but the comparison is really a bit extreme, besides i have a corporate version of windows that does not need activation (before anyone starts asking - i only have it because i am allowed to install at home any software my company uses, it´s a MS licensing benefit on their top licensing programs.) so even though i reformat and upgrade a lot, i don´t have problems in windows. am i going to have problems in FC? that´s what i want to know. another thing and this MAY be pure coincidence: i´ve started to have spyware on my computer since i installed FC demo. now, before anyone starts saying that it IS a coincidence, let me clarify a few points... i have Norton installed and up to date. Firewall activated and i run Spybot regularly. never had spyware. a couple of days ago i checked again and had two entries that i removed. i have checked again now and i have 18 entries. makes me wonder. just that. i am going to uninstall FC demo and clear Starforce out of my system and i am going to see if i keep getting entries. if i do, then it WAS a coincidence and FC has nothing to do with it. another thing that makes me wonder is... it may come the day where starforce and/or ED go out of business... what will happen then? it may not happen, but business logics tells me that it is a strong possibility. more in starforce case than ED maybe, i don´t know, because what is a profitable business today protecting software may not be profitable tomorrow with new software distribution technices. but when (and if that) happens what will happen to my copy of FC?
  18. here is a mail from Nic´s parents: Hi Lima Thanks for your kind words this morning - it must have been very difficult for you. My wife and I really appreciate your kind words and please pass on our appreciation to all of the people who have asked after Nic. She is a little upset at the moment but will read the Thread in the next day or so. In the meantime please find attached a picture of Nic. I have a further two more on another machine and will send these shortly. Fondest regards Mike (Nic's Stepdad) ---------------------------------------- both funerals will be held tomorrow.
  19. here is a small update... i have spoked with Nic´s parents and expressed the community condolences and asked for a photo so that a new pilot can be created in Lock On. Nic´s mother asked me to transmit to our small community here that they are very touched with all our support and they thank each and everyone here. i would like to say more but i am at a loss for words.
  20. i´m in Portugal, bought mine from Edimensional.com and had no customs surprises. you WILL pay UK VAT though and the prices on their page are WITHOUT VAT. sooo... 100€+17% VAT (i think)...
  21. nice to hear about that... the A-10 was always one of my favourite planes... and one of the main reasons that i bought Lock On in the first place.
  22. just to ilustrate the kind of guy Nic was... there was a thread long ago on the ubi forums about a Lock On player that was dying of pancreatic cancer... here was Nic´s attitude... "niccole posted Fri January 16 2004 02:01 Perhaps you'd like to give me Robins postal address and we'll Express him a copy of the manual. email me at nic@digital-aspirin.com Nic " on this thread: http://forums.ubi.com/eve/ubb.x?q=Y&a=tpc&s=400102&f=38610606&m=290107151&p=1
