I guess I found a small work around. If I close the mission and reload it then sometimes the TCS/Lantirn will start to work.

They are transforming it to two months with this one.

It's all well and good for marketing but with the sheer volume of F-15E content it looks like it's out. If I had just discovered DCS I'd being going to this forum wondering why my F-15E download isn't working because someone on Youtube seems to have theirs working. We are talking 1000 sub channels here too. I want a quality product more than it being rushed out the door, but if it works well enough for a content creator, it probably works well enough for people who ordered it understanding it's early access. It'll still be buggy as anything on initial release. No one will be upset about that. If someone is upset about bugs in early access that's their problem. I don't remember the Apache getting sent to that many people before release. There were maybe a few previews and Wags. If there was one or two previews and Notso's tutorials, I think the backlash would be minor or nonexistent.
-
Unless they release it by the end of the week/month, they all have it so early that it feels like mockery. It's mainly the videos of people like GS playing around in it. If they were dry tutorial videos, I'd feel different. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth. If I didn't get the extra discount for pre-ordering I wouldn't after seeing it.

I believe there is a Tomcat VR mod that makes it more readable.

Half year of the Strike Eagle

In SteamVR a lot of work went into the motion compensation to make sure the prop on WW2 planes don't artifact. Is there a way to make this happen in OpenXR. My P51 sight looks very bubbly with OpenXR. Otherwise OpenXR runs better.
-
The Tomcat's RWR seems give less notifications of getting targeted by a SAM or AI. Is this in my head or are they modeled differently?
-
Who cares about the scope. It's a great way to support the plane after EA.

I think that RAZBAM should add import functionality to the F-15E instead of keeping it restricted to USAF. Obviously, it doesn't have to be first on the list, but it would be fun to launch HARMS on an F-15E. In general every DCS module should model more off of manufacturing specs vs military restrictions, like how export Hornets have an ILS even if the Navy doesn't.

A later Corsair will also be more competitive with the 109 as well. I'm sure they will add a carrier and the Corsair to the Normandy map for MP. Even if it's not as realistic, it's possible, and it's more fun.

I have a Virpil WarBRD, F-18/F-15E stick, and a Warthog throttle. I want to make the controls as 1:1 as possible. Is there a button map for the real F-15E available yet as well?

Based off what was explained here, the RIO/WSO is not necessary for the Strike Eagle to operate. Maybe you have to jump in the backseat for a second to start one of the systems or something, and then you can do everything from the cockpit. F-14 is literally impossible to use without a RIO. RIO aligns the INS. RIO does all of the radar work in BVR, etc. I'm assuming the Phantom needs the RIO like the F-14.
-
I'm trying to figure it out. Is the WSO solely to split the workload or are there some important functions that we won't really be able to take advantage of outside of multicrew?
-
I am cautiously optimistic that the Strike Eagle is the next module.

DCS Gets Mentioned in latest LTT Video covering DLSS 3.0
PD919 replied to Canada_Moose's topic in Community News
Well as much as DLSS would ultimate help VR performance as it will enable a higher resolution and better effects, I think even implementing something like TAA would help. MSAA does a lot to smooth out the image but it is a GPU killer even with a RTX 4090. TAA might provide a good balance between image and performance. -
If the 38.6 FM station isn't working, is there a VOR or ADF we could use to mimic the homing?

You are literally making a sales pitch for ED to ditch their current pilot models for stick figure. No model in this game look or sounds like me and I'm fine with that. When people like you complain about almost meaningless things compared to fixing the game it leads to needless frustration from devs who spend hours just coding one line for something like Jester. It only take 5 minutes for you to complain. If the devs put in a huge effort and your going to give them grief then maybe we deserve stickfigures and Microsoft Sam until they can voice 1000 people and make 1000 models. I'm sure even then someone will be offended.
-
The people who were going on tirades about ED adding all this stuff while their still bringing out the core gameplay elements were being jerks. Maybe ED should just make the pilots stick figures and start adding extraneous stuff like that when the game is more finished just to shut the crybabies up.
-
I demand that ED does a voice over of myself as the WSO as well as every other DCS player or else we can't really be immersed in the sim. I also expect them to invite me in and do a mocap of me in every plane or else I will never buy another module. This is the immersion I need.
-
I don't think the AI WSO will have any dialog. I think it's going to be very bare bones because you can to 95%+ from the pilot seat. I'd imagine the main advantage of a WSO in real life is they can split the workload of find their targets and SA. I can't tell you how many times I've died in a Hornet by an enemy fighter because I was fixated on ground targets and the FLIR pod.

Just saw your manual announcement for the F-15E so add that to the list too. F-15E might be the most fascinating because it will probably have the most complex avionics package/weapon systems in DCS.

Can confirm I have the same issue.

I understand the A-10 better than ever. Is there a possibility of getting a campaign like this for the F-18/14/16, etc? This was a masterclass on how to do a tutorial.
