  1. I don't think a J-8II is out of the question This isn't something very modern or useful like a J-15 or anything. I think you're thinking too highly of the J-8II lol
  2. I would much prefer a J-8II or a J-8F. Gen 1 J-8 really isn't anything special. I wish we could also get a Chengdu J-7E. If we can't get an Su-30MKK then these two are what I would much rather have. Btw, this is all assuming we can't get my favorite Chinese aircraft the second generation J-10 ;-;
  3. I know it's *a bit* newer than the MiG-29 but it's a really cool naval VTOL aircraft and it would be very cool to be able to learn and fly it in opposition to the Harrier. I don't want any argument or discussion between the two aircraft. Both are cool. I am merely asking if there's any chance or news regarding the Yak-38. Also, by any chance does anyone know anything about a Draken coming to the game? Thanks!
  4. Wrong. We do not have F-15J or F-86F-40. Both are different. Sorry but it looks like the weeb's gonna have to stick with US and Chinese for now.
  5. Make sure your graphics card isn't overheating or getting old. I had the same problem, didn't know what was wrong and blamed the developers when it was just my own graphics card dying on me from too many particles. From what you're describing it sounds like you might want to upgrade sometime soon.
  6. I just wish we had some kind of confirmation regarding what they are working on. I would love to see a J-7E in DCS or J-8 if not Su-30, but maybe it's just the case that not even DEKA knows that they want to do next.
  7. If you change the Track-IR's pitch so that the default view is angled differently than what is set at default (for example mine is centered towards the gunsight rather than a little bit downwards), then pressing the Petrovich button resets the Track-IR position to its default pitch every time Petrovich is active. When you disable the Petrovich UI element by pressing the button again it jumps back to what you had it set to. It's like a jump every time you use it. Please fix this bug in a future patch. Thanks
  8. I hope they work on the operator's gunsight and firing the 30mm gun from the front seat. Just something I think would add to the co-pilots experience.
  9. Oh that's right. War Thunder's MiG-21 has an ammo counter but not the more realistic DCS MiG-21bis. Thanks.
  10. Hello, does anyone happen to know where I can find the ammo counter for the 30mm gun and gun pods and rockets? The MiG-21bis has an ammo counter and so does the Mi-8 so I would think the Mi-24 would also have one, but no matter how hard I look I can not find an indicator showing how much ammo is left in the cockpit. Does anyone know?
  11. Okay so it's not me, haha. I will just wait until there is a patch for it. Thank you for your help.
  12. I wish we got some kind of feedback when we are about to enter a VRS. The Mi-8 gives you that kind of feedback but not the Hind for some reason. Maybe it's not fully implimented yet.
  13. Are you sure that's not someone's model aircraft? Either way I'm pretty sure R-60M is better than Igla anyways.
  14. When I load up Mi-24 Caucasus firing range in Instant Action I am unable to use Petrovich at all except for simple "activate weapon controls" keybind. It works in multiplayer no problem but it just does not activate in singleplayer, and neither does he take over pilot controls from me when I swap to co-pilot's seat. Anyone know how I can fix this?
  15. Any chance we could see improvements to the DCS JF-17 such as a functioning HMD and, I know this is asking for a lot but what about the off-bore sight PL-10E missile? I mean, Deka did make a JF-17 for DCS and no where does it say exactly which block it's meant to be. Sure some say it's block I with some block II features, but we do have a HMD button in the cockpit. I understand majority of block III is classified but maybe some features could make it in, such as HMD.
  16. That's implying Mi-24 won't persuade Eagle Dynamics to further develop ground troops in DCS to enhance the helicopter gameplay.
  17. No more desert maps. I want Eastern Baltic map.
  18. Look I'm not saying you guys are wrong. I'm just saying it would be cool.
  19. "Modern" >MiG-19A Once we get an Su-30MKK then BLUFOR NATO players will be screaming hahaha
  20. F4U-1's vs. A6M2's. This thread is talking about the A6M5. With the direction props are taking in DCS with all being late-war variants such as K-4, P-51D and late Spitfire I don't think any player controlled zero is a good idea. Should instead focus on early war props to fill out opposition to the I-16, A6M2 can then be one of them but not until there are equal planes for it to face, else it would be a bloodbath for the Zeros. These are American pilots though, so I guess the Japanese have a chance lol
  21. I don't think a Zero is necessary. It wouldn't make much sense introducing a player aircraft that would get absolutely ruined by P-51D and Corsair. Their only hopes would be to get the enemy slow or come in from a stealthily position. Kind of ridiculous to be honest if the goal is to recreate the almost non-existent late-war KDR of the A6M5. Keep it as an AI aircraft and focus on more important aircraft like La-5/7 and a Yak of some kind.
  22. If that's what you like then buy Viggen
  23. Fair enough. Would be cool though to use the crew cabin in a variety of different ways though. Maybe like loading it with cargo and using it to drop supplies to troops and such.
  24. Also, I mean wouldn't this be a sort of redneck approach anyways? What proof or source would exactly be needed for some pilots saying "fuck it" and loading a bunch of munitions in the cabin? It's not like these things are clocks and need to be delicately tuned. They're Soviet machines, you can do what you want with them. I'm sure something like this has happened at least once in its History. Maybe once around the less mountainous and lower altitude locations. I understand Afghanistan is high-altitude but not all parts. Specifically around the north it's low altitude. It's not unrealistic to assume maybe one group of crazy pilots thought of trying it out on a mission that didn't need so much fuel. Same thing with carrying troops. It was usually not done but that's because Afghanistan is such high altitude. Around the Baltic region and much in the north it's almost sea-level. I think the Hind is much more capable around these locations and could be utilized much more effectively. Here we can see the movement path of Soviet soldiers. Notice how they mostly avoid the high-altitude mountainous region. Now look at the Afghanistan topography. Notice anything?
  25. Good point. Like I said though, maybe some mission maker could create some trigger which does something similar in a scripted mission.
