I never understood dead zones... I just curve it to 30, and i can work it just fine.

I have NEVER experienced any burn outs of the PITOT heater when flipping it on during start up. Ever. I do not believe it is modeled to burn out.

Two ways to use them efficiently. One, is to go to the air to air mode and look at the hud, the circle is the aim-9 seeker. Maneuver the circle on target, and fire. Other way, is to turn your TGP to AA mode, and lock on to an aircraft with it, TMS up short. Then China Hat forward long to slave the Aim-9 to the target you have locked on, and fire. Dont forget your gun funnel. Just because you have AA mode on does not mean the gun funnel is on, because it's not. With HUD selected as SOI in AA mode, DMS right until you select the profile of the aircraft you are engaging. Bottom left corner will show you information on the profile you have selected.

I apologize, but then end up getting kicked from the server... It's really sad... Damn sharks... ruining all the Hogs fun.

That is correct, Aligment is degraded over time. Look under the 105s in the DSMS, when they turn white it also says ALN DEG Im not eaxctly sure why it degrades when flying in a straight line, and it fixes itself upon changing course and direction, but it does. So i have the habit to fly off angle on a target until i get close, then turn into it so that i have no aligment issues before drop. This has been confirmed on another thread.

Well the burning out isnt modeled is it?

Well speaking of which, are there ANY plans to make the Sharks visible on the TAD at all? In recent events, I have managed to TK quite a bit of Sharks because they do not respond to chat msgs, or wotn confirm their location.... Red Vs Blue type game play.

Saitek x52 has calibration issues. If that's what you have, then thats what might be happening, or its the trim, but it should not kick you off 15 degrees. It will start to turn or pitch weirdly if you lose speed over time and you are not trimmed correctly, but it should not just out of nowhere do it.

They have. Also, disabling shadows apparently is a 50-50% chance of working. It is recommended you put shadows to maximum and it apparently helps FPS.
-
So what exactly was done here? Shadows removed and...?
-
Well CCIP is weird anyway, you have to be at constant speed even WITH the pipper there... Those bombs always miss for me otherwise.

Graphic settings suggestions for Nvidia please?
ralfidude replied to Jimmytime's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
I noticed no real change, but i think the outside world is a tad bit better, but my cockpit is now just a bit rough. When looking down into the pit, i notice some slowed down performance. Not sure which option made that happen. -
I took a look at your track. Something was off, and I checked my TM warthog and it does seem like you were at full throttle. But what I suspect it is, is your breaks. I have saitek peddals, and the breaks are by default the other way around. So pressing them down on the toe breakers actually releases breaks. This needs to be fixed in the controls menu for your pedals, where you check the "Invert" box. Then your breaks should work the right way. Pressing down on toe breakers will activate breaks. Also I was looking at your rudder pedals, and you barely even used them. There is something wrong with your pedal assigment me thinks for sure. PS: I know you said you checked your breaks, but check them again. When your on the runway, throttle up a bit till you start rolling, throttle back, and apply breaks. If your plane doesnt stop, well... there ya go!

I have been using FRAPS for a while now, but now I use DXTORY which has a bunch of cool features I like. Mainly I can have 2 sound streams of the ingame sound, then a seperate stream for my mic. It also does not dumb down your FPS while recording like FRAPS does. You hit record on fraps and your FPS drops a bit below your recording set FPS, like 30, but you are seeing in maybe 28 or 25 as your play. DXTORY will record at your set FPS, 30 in my case, but keep the game FPS as I have it normally without recording, with a slight drop. So recording at 30 FPS, but im seeing my usual 30-40 FPS as I play. Not to mention FRAPS limits your files to 2 gb clips, while DXTORY will keep everything in one video file.

Well they are there "Just in case" See what I did there?

startup procedure problems with TVV and takeoff
ralfidude replied to foxfour's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Wind will push you, always. As long as you have no green indicators on your warning control panel, then everything is done right. All you need to do is watch a start up video on line, look at what you are doing, and if it's the same thing, then you are good to go. The only time I rmbr when I did not have that TVV, is when I forgot to turn EGI and/or EAC on. But you would notice that the warning control panel will display it. -
Well either way Phuz, thanks!

There is also nothing realistic about these mission we are doing but it's all in good fun. Cmon mate.

Awww dont hijack his thread.... lol that was mean.

Yeah... for some reason or other missiles and AI are Dumbed down against choppers. Missiles will fly RIGHT past a helicopter thats just hovering, and sometimes they will take a direct head on impact to the face and nothing seriously bad is wrong with them... it's kind of a laughing matter to me when i fly long missions and switch to F2 and just watch some of these Ka-50s... I could do a better job at shooting one down manually with an Ak than the AI can with a AAA cannon.
-
Wait, why would you put center drop tanks on each load out? Thats a HUUUuuuugggeeeely unnecessary extra weight. Other than that, il give it a whirl. PS: Would be nice if you outlined what you did for the options we have to chose from now.
-
Thanks for that explanation iron. Also, wolle, as soon as the opportunity presents itself to kill some KA-50's, il make a video out of it. Just for you.
-
Nah man, you are doing it wrong. Get in from above them and behind, and wait till you are close, then fire off the aim 9s, though its even better if you lock them up with mavericks and shame them to death that way. All else fails, guns. They wont survive that hahaha. Iv gotten so bored of doing that, that I debate even engaging them in the first place...
-
Hehe, well, my only gripe with that was the fact that no matter how many times i write in capital letters in chat screen for everybody to change their OWN IDs because i see 13 blinking friendlies, nobody responds. Even when i tell them how to, or if they need to know they can ask. Only perhaps 2 out of 15 people ever will... At that point i just say screw teamwork, I was going to send you data about that Igla you are about to fly into, but now im just going to watch you burn, you selfish bast*rd.
-
Iv read someplace that you need to set the aircraft manually when you make a new slot or something like that to avoid the 1-1 thing. Well, I HAVE seen a mission that utilizes the whole mission prioroty over dogfighting scene. Lets say the blues start way west, they have to travel some time east through a series of wpts, where there are objectives to do. At the last waypoint is the point of contact that might bring both sides within reach of each other. This assuming red starts way East and has to move west through their objectives. Both main bases are covered by SA-10/11 and Hawk sites so no way Jose either side will make it to try and base rape each other or get anywhere near that. Preserves main objectives and keeps the planes from diverging from their main paths. Making the meeting point at some tall mountains makes it even more fun. But that was just my thinking of it.
