  1. Let's not over complicate the environment here... If they made comms available, it would be a nightmare. My clan hosts a server and the VOIP issue is rather annoying... and can bring down a server quickly. There are enough CPU intensive things going on as it is, and since the sim does not use multicore it is rather hard on systems that dont run UBER SUPER CPUs.
  2. On that last picture, judging by the smoke stack on the right, the winds must have been in typhoon mode.
  3. Communication is a player side issue in DCS, flaming cliffs, and dcs world. I play with friends and we hop on Team Speak and switch TARS on. Otherwise, you have the chat box in game to use.

  6. Those suckers are expensive brah! I have NEVER had the opportunity to engage a target at over 8nm yet... Id like to see a track of you using that over 9nm. I tried it in multiple variations, but the "heat" in the game is not "shown" right... The same issue happened in flaming cliffs 2, wher the maverick, even though pointing RIGHT at a BIG huge target that has NOTHING around it, will still lock on to some random tree or building 100meters off of it to the side instead of it... I guess we wouldnt be complaining if the targets showed its true "colors" when using the Ds. I think its scripted right now to not lock on to SAMs as easily as other vehicles, wish they would just change it's signature so we can visually see it too.... :(

  9. An actual A-10 pilot told me to use the AGM 65 K variant, as its the most expensive maverick because it has the best optical sensor thus making it easier to lock onto a target from further away. They don't use it as much because of that, unless the mission requires it to. Sadly, this is not so in DCS, as you will still engage a RED PIPING HOT target at only under 7nm range... So your best option would be superior tactics or dont engage the sams at all. PS: It's a crying shame they didn't incorporate the Maverick L which is a laser guided maverick...
  10. Actually the chopper was taking off, the copilot was working hard to keep the lazer on him the whole time, and then BAM!!!!!!!!!!! This article also taught me that AWACS actually spots out ground targets too... I didnt know that! Wish it could be implemented in DCS...
  11. Reminds me of the article I read about an F15 crew who used a 2 thousand pounder to kill a MI-24 hind chopper in mid flight. It was rather amusing. They caught hell for it, but saved a special forces ass with it.
  12. My friend and I are now getting an error using TARS on 3.0.5 TS, apparently TARS is spamming TS and is kicking or muting players using TARS plug in... Its the weirdest thing....

  15. Well two CBUs on the two armor groups after i took out the SAM threat with my two mavs. which took out most of the vehicles. My AI went in for some mav shots, they each fired off one mav, NONE of them at the AA, they each got one kill, but they each got shot down. I stood back and watch it all unfold. Then swooped in and cleaned house. 2 thousand pounds of fuel left by the time i landed, and 200 rounds of gun left.

Well in SP the armor is spotted by the AI, and then I just tell em all to engage armor targets, they all ignore the AA and go in and get themselves killed, but at least it shows me where the enemy is shooting from, hehe. In anycase, it was a great mission, very well done, and I will get one of my buddies to fly it with me, and we will do a movie to it, Il post it on here when it's done. Will be a few days. Good job dude. I liked it. PS: I freaked out a little when I had a Mig spike me from my 6, then I heard nothing more out of him. PPS: I did pretty must ALL the work and managed to kill both armor groups and the invading convoy by myself with what was given, though I did have to use gun only on that moving convoy...
  17. Glad to see we still havent figured out what causes that nose gear failure... Still happening a lot with players.

It does break lock, it just follows the same "path" it was following blindly, and when you roll out and unmask the TGP and the same target is still basically in the center then it will re acquire lock on it automatically, but lets say while you are masked, the targets make a turn, the TGP will still be turning in the same direction it was prior to them turning.
  19. Random thingy, im making a tutorial on using the CHINA HAT, and one thing that has popped up was the TGP in Gimbal limits. There are times when the TGP is looking at your SPI and you do some crazy manouvering for whatever reason that the TGP gets stuck. It looks at some very very weird angle, and says gimbal limits, and i understand it, but it also just messes up at that point. If you try to pres china hat forw long, to slave the TGP back to the SPI, it will move the head a bit as if slaving to the SPI but it slaves to another weird angle nowhere anywhere remotely close tot he SPI. At this point the only thing left to do is to press china hat aft to reset the TGP and then china hat forwd long again and it slaves itself back to the SPI normally, but it wouldnt be possible before resetting as it is stuck in the gimbal limit's 14th dimension. My question is, is this a normal feature of the TGP entering it's limits or is this a bug?

Well I have had success in killing things with the Mk-82s in CCRP mode at those heighs as long as you are not increasing or decreasing speed and altitude, and if you pickle off in ripple 2 quantities. It's CCIP that pisses me off, they never ever hit on the pipper, always behind it.... As far as guns... it does bother me that you need to get that close to kill a tank, but that's the way it is I guess. I know the game doesnt make the bullets hit anythign above 2.0nm, Iv tried against a line of infantry, and it seems the bullets dissapear above that range.

  23. Last I heard, he was working on the update for TS, however i believe because of the 1.1.2 there might need to be some work involved there, so he will release it once hes got it.
  24. autopilot is disabled when your nose fuel flap is open, therefore i dont think pac will work as if im correct in thinking so, acts like an autopilot.
