Hello dokken1212, I've got the same problem You had. Can yo tell me where to find the config.LUA I can find "Safed games" then "DCS Open Beta"..The the folder " Config".. but no config Lua. Where should I look for the correct Config File. Thanks already

Slipball is stuck in center position during ground taxi.

The Turn Rate needle (Below the stby attitude indicator) in the F18 is not working anymore. That is...During flight it is frozen in the center position during heading changes. Note: If you look at it closely during taxi, there is a slight movement of the needle in the correct direction. It looks like the amount of deflection is programmed to be to little !! As always...hope it can be fixed !! Greetzz

How to get a reply from the Devs DCS on wind issues? Is there an efficient way to get an answer, or any other reaction from the devs od DCS, about the problem of wind and smoke behaviour. For a flightsimulator it seems to me, that reaction and effects from airflow and wind are very important to be correct. It should be the first thing to be corrected if it is faulty, yet there is no reply of any kind about this. Show me the way please :( !!
-
This is normal if you have Wind. The HUD shows you that you are drifting to the left by wind comming from the right. It shows you in what direction you are realy going. If you want ..you can get the hud symbols centered by caging the hud. But if you do this ..the Hud velocity symbol wil point straight forward, even while you are drifting., so it wil not point to where you are realy going. Hope this helps.

Slipball behavior is nicely corrected and functions like it should during flight...Great !! Also, turn and rate needle does now what it should do during flight and on the ground..Great again ! One small thing remains. The slipball is frozen in mid position on the ground ! So ..during taxiing and steering the aircraft, the ball is not deflecting. Hope this small, but unrealistic thingy whil be fixed Thanks allready.

Thanks guys for thinking with me. Checked for double bindings ..not the case. But i discovered the problem :D I was experiencing the rudder problem during traing flight...."Take Off Solo". I just made a TakeOff in a mission i made.. and..:joystick: Like a Charm...no rudder interference what so ever,...every mistake was my own..:D So the bad behaviour of the rudder is linked with training flights.. Still something that should be fixed i think ..but with lower priority.. Thanks again.
-
Oke "JCOM". You had me convinced..but now i see that the behaviour of the rudder is deffinatly not correct ! During TO when i give a steady rudder input..the rudder starts oscilating. this makes the tail wobble from left to right several times. It is almost impossible to steady the rudder out because if i give an input the rudder seems to counteract.. i'am fighting the artifical input and that can not be good. Something is definately wrong here. Can you try a takeOFF and look at the rudder behaviour (when you give a steady input) please. You must agree..that is not OK !! Hope it can be fixed..
-
Thanks, thats it.. Well ...this is the first time i noticed this movement. I bit strange to see the legs of the pilot move while i dont give any rudder input. But i agree that it is the only way to simulate the forces on the rudder without Force Feedback. Sorry for reporting this as a Bug …its a clearly a feature...Well done Dev's. !

During TakeOff with TO assistance and Autorudder turned off. The rudderpedals are moving to the right when adding power ..and release right rudder when reducing power automatically. If i give an input myself en release.. the pedals stabelize by giving inputs left and right. So it seems that autorudder or a kind of stabelizing is active and cant be turned off. Hope it wil be fixed, i want to fly this Mustang solo. thanks allready

Hello, i know this is not new, and i thought it was corrected...but..it is back ! With wind.. during flight, the exhaust trails are influenced by the direction of wind. The smoke leaves the engine in an angle with the longitudinal axis. This is not correct when the aircraft is not side slipping. The exhaust gases should leave the engines parralel to the longitudinal axis of the aircraft. With no sideslip, (Slip Ball centered) air is flowing from nose to tail in a straight line when there is no side slip condition. So, smoke and gasses should follow the same path...hope you agree ! It was especially visible with a C130 during high wind conditions above cloud layer. Contrails seem to be acting correct...but have not really checked yet. A Fix would make this outstanding Simulator even more realistic ! Thanks allready

The F5 had great wingflex effect. but it is gone now. Hope it will be Fixed.

Good Find, Mine was also enabled, Any idea if this has an affect on Frame rate or so ?

Great seat feel on the Harrier Really great Job on the feel of the Harrier at the moment. It all feels natural and spectacular !! Thanks for the work on this. Regards
-
:D yes that is tricky. But the best way to see that the slipball behind the stick is faulty, is on the ground during Taxi. Even more..., if you stop the aircraft on the ground..it happens that the slipball remains cornered. This is impossible in real life because there are no lateral G's to move the ball when the aircraft is stopped. (on solid ground). The slipbal should center by gravity in this situation. Greetz

Hello Razor, this is already reported and acknowledged. (in the list of known issues) The slipbal is also not correct..it looks like the deflection of the slipbal is connected to the windvane, wile it should react on lateral G's. This last gripe is not yet acknowledged by the dev's...(no reaction on this yet) . Regards

Great ..Thanks Carss, i was close , but tried to place the files into the Mod folder instead of the Core Mod folder. I'll try to remember this time . The plane looks great !! Thanks again

Skins look really great !! But I have no clue on how and where to install them. I probably missed it somewhere in the forum, but ..can someone give me instructions please ? Thanks already.

On the ground, it looks like the input, for deflection of the slip ball, is coming from the wind vane. I'm not sure if the input at the moment is really coming from the wind vane, it just seems that way. It should be deflected by lateral G's, but this is clearly not the case in the sim. at the moment. It is not correct that the ball (s) sometimes remains deflected to one side of the indicator if the aircraft is standing still on the ground. During flight the Slip ball seems to work as it should. (could still be getting wrong input). All for realism :smartass: Regards
-
Thanks, Vladinsky, So I may conclude that at this moment, te input for both slipball positions are not comming from the lateral g’s Like it should. Hope it Will be Fixed. Regards
-
Oke, Checked it again..and I agree that the slip ball indication is correct during flight. During Taxiing however it is behaving erratic ! As an example; It remains stuck to the right sometimes..even when the aircraft is stopped. IRL this is not possible because the ball (behind the stick) should center by gravity. I wonder how the slip ball in the HUD is generated. At the moment it copy's the mechanical ball (behind the stick) ore the other way arround.., even when it is stuck in the impossible position. It must be controlled by an input of the navigation sensors (could be the vane, I just don't know). One thing is for sure...the vane can not control the (mechanical) Ball (behind the stick), so that Ball can not remain in a corner while the aircraft is completely stopped !. Question comes into mind; Does anybody know if the ball in the harrier HUD is positioned by input of the wind vane ?

Thanks for the info guys,

The wingtip vapor trail is presented at to low airspeed and lift production of the wing. Looks very unrealistic.. Regards..
-
One addition to the fault report. Not only the turn rate needle is indicating the wrong way around. Also the slip bal movement is reversed, included the presentation of the slipbal in the HUD. Regards,, John

Thanks for the reply, the Harrier is Really a great module, good luck perfecting it ! Greetz
