It's only 70 votes, so not really representative of the whole community but it's to be considered that DCS users are to invest in GPU (and by extension other components of their PC) to pull the perfs upper. (I imagined 512Mb / 1024Mb to be the 'upper stages' of the gauss line) Maybe I'm getting old, indeed we're late 2012, 1024=+ sounds to be the least for gaming.

  13. IIRC sound is processed in a separated thread/core in the CPU. I don't think sound can saturate a CPU up to stutter/freeze the sim. But maybe UH1 has higher poly count, sharper higher resolution texture that can saturate the VRAM of the Gfx card. Just my 2Cts.
  14. Find it's nice to see continued improvements on the graphics and physics and should be continued. But it's also correct that all those improvements impact the FPS. My hopes are for the future coming EDGE. I expect it to calculate the effects and geometry smoother (less FPS hit). Why not multi-threading for the core engine? It's a hell to code, and might be re-coded from scratch. So I don't know if it's possible for ED team (very talented and devoted devs but I think they have not the same budget invest as a financial-AAA gamestudio with armies of devs). Correct me if I'm wrong.
  15. As mobo, why not Gigabyte's P-67A-ud3-B3? Good quality (I'm torturing one without any problem) and not too expensive... An option like an other

    Salut, Après une rapide recherche sur le forum, voici ce que j'ai pu collecter, à voir si ça t'aide: Place la DLL dans le dossier "C:\Windows\System32" (Windows XP, Vista, 7) (fait un backup du fichier originel avant de l'écraser au cas où) Reboot ton PC Si le problème est à nouveau présent: Ouvre le CMD via la barre de recherche du bouton 'start' de windows, Tape: regsvr32 msvcr100.dll et appuie sur Enter. Comme indiqué, pas de promesse ni de garantie mais ça a déjà aidé d'autres personnes. Et je ne sais pas sur quelle machine tu joues mais DCS World est clairement plus à l'aise et a moins de soucis avec un OS 64bit au lieu de 32bit.

  22. Waiiit, you're too fast for me... ;) Now you can vote! Edit: I voted 1024Mb VRAM and I have troubles (low FPS) with high AA and overload of effects, certainly on take-off - landings. Maybe not enough VRAM for high textures settings...
  23. In order to have an idea of the community (and just also by curiosity ;) ), I'd like to know what graphic card you (the community) are using for DCS... And if you want add comments about how the sim perform, feel free... Choices are: 1) <= 256 VRAM 2) 512 VRAM 3) 768 VRAM 4) 1024 VRAM 5) 1536 VRAM 6) 2048 VRAM 7) 2048+ VRAM

    IL-2 1946?

    Don't you think the 'dust' might be the smoke pots released from the APC's & tanks you are shooting at? EDIT: Annyway, I still have IL2-1946 installed and it's a '************' sim! (modded too with Ultrapack)
