Sorry, couldn't resist to answer this one: DCS stands for Digital Combat Simulator. The word 'world' means that the 'DCS' brand is just an 'ecosystem' where all the WANTED modules are installed. The philosophy behind is: - Want a module, buy it => don't want it,... - Same 'ecosystem' for the patches (surely with the upcoming 'autopatcher') - Same 'ecosystem' for all the different installations around the world => think multiplayer capability. Now it's exact that the first DCS modules were for Black Shark ans A10c, which are unprecedented high fidelity modeled modules. Those marked the brand 'DCS'. BUT, the brand, the meaning of the acronym DCS has evoluated with the time in 'DCS World', with the consequences stated here above. If I'm wrong, just correct me. That's just what I understood by my reading in this forum... EDIT: I forgot: as I read here few pages before, I'm +1 with the idea that a short promo or 'feature' video could be made to show us what's in FC3... Someone? Mr Wagner? Glowing Amraam?

Ok, I've read a whole bunch of opinion and this is mine: Pros: - FC3 looks a big step forward REGARDING FC2 - F-15c 6dof pit rocks! - New T/O - Landing physics... Oh yeah! - Concerning the price, some people cries because $40 is 'a lot' of money but have a look at the gaming market: $60 FIFA 2011 vs $60 FIFA 2012 (just an exemple): few adds but full price tag! The Call of... serie: Full price tag for 6-8 hours solo game (OK, you can go online too) - 40$ to support future releases of ED? OK, I personally think that worth it when we see the terrific modules ED releases. - Other announced features for FC3 Cons: - Only the F-15c has 6dof + shadows (time issue) - Just a communication issue: if I buy FC3, will it integrate into DCS-W or is it an independent installation? If it integrates into DCS-W, what should I expect as differences than before the FC3 installation? Ok, so if somebody can answer those few questions... Thanks in advance. Oh, and thank you ED for your efforts and dedication. EDIT: and err, what "updated HUD and cockpit systems" stands for?

I know this 'hack' but it id not a 'normal' function and potentially dangerous. I found a lot more simple to roll back to W7. Thank you anyway:thumbup:

I installed W8 CP, all the stuffs and... Tried with TrackIR, without success. I rolled back to W7-64bits and will stick onto for a while. I didn't appreciated W8 ergonomy. Some pro but many cons. But that's subjective, not objective at all. The major issue for me is that trackIR isn't supported yet...

Crashed after bird-strike during touch&go exercise. Suddenly, after a take-off, 3 detonations were heard. The pilot, 24 y.o; Lieutenant, radioed immediately the emergency and had no choice but eject. Noboby was injured, pilot had been recovered safely. Hydrazine tank had no leak. And if I had bad luck with my hardware and software + too stupid to correctly magage the licence of the boxed version then killed them 1 by 1 during ages... Guess I should buy another copy of BS1 on the market... Hopefully, it's only 9.99. I think I can survive...

Found that back weeks ago... Souvenirs souvenirs! Edit: I remember I had to go to London to find Jane's Longbow2 and F-15E. Couldn't find them in Belgium... Hopefully, I was still at school and each year, the school organized a trip for the students at x-mas time in London. As soon as I was 'dropped' in the city, I used to go to 'harrods' (it was the most 'visible' and I didn't knew London) and looked for PC games I couldn't find home, like those 2.

OH, considering all that, I understand better why works takes some times when speaking about DCS. I didn't imagine ALL was ACTUALLY simmed under the 'hood', deep in the codes. There is no 'cheat' and no 'easy ways'. Great Respect to ED and über Respect for fast learner 3rd Parties. (And good luck).

If I recall well, LOMAC and LOACS is the very same soft but there was a rename in entering the UK or european market when released, don't remember why. But actually, it's the same game.

Looks like we have now DCS: Sandbox... Possibilities are endless, and much more in multi!

Very interesting. But I also understood (or is it my imagination) that ED needs money and programmers because (I feel) they are struggling with their projects... Many projects, not enough ressources ($ and devs), so it takes more time. Correct me if I'm wrong. (constructively) I really hope ED can receive the support they need.
