Maybe with a help by Microsoft... (Sorry, I leave...)

What the! The 'Nevada Map/EDGE' thread buried in the 'Chit-Chat' sub-forum!!!! OK, it always ran more funny than informative but Hell! But, IT'S THE EDGE Thread! C'Mon! (Not the guitarist):helpsmilie:

As stated here... It's not really for tomorrow.
-
:lol::lol::lol: Oh, I remember that!:thumbup:

The answer is in your statement: It's a sim, not (only) a game. And it's very complicated and time consuming to produce such detailed aircraft as the P-51d. As you can read across the forum, there are MANY projects to be implemented into DCS-World (1st and 3rd parties) but those need time to be completed and validated before release. For exemple of what projects are under development, check this thread (Unofficial List of Upcoming DCS Aircraft) You can check the advance of all the projects in the 'Third Party Projects' part of the forum. The most advanced one seems to be the DCS: Mig-21bis by Beczl (also has its own website) On an other hand, ED is continuously updating their product (with a great follow-up) and current projects are: - A 'U.S. fixed wing jet' (unknown by now) at DCS level Commonly reads for 'DCS level' of fidelity: Advanced Flight Model, 6DOF pit, Fully clickable pit, all systems fully simulated (hydraulics, electric, system and sub-system dependencies, fuel management, electronics,...), enhanced 3D model with all moving parts animated,... By now, those aircraft are called "'DCS: (aircraft)'" as opposed with "'Aircraft' for DCS World" (Simple Flight Model, non clickable pit,...) - A whole new rendering engine coming along with the upcoming Nevada map. (No estimated time to release so far) EDIT: And Welcome aboard:)

Nope, have the issue too with URL "http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/news/" (Google Chrome Version 23.0.1271.91) running on Ubuntu 12.10 - 64bits) EDIT: From Belgium, ISP Belgacom.

Already voted, but migrated to Win8Pro 64bit

Next DCS (US) Fixed Wing Aircraft Wish List
Cedaway replied to diecastbg's topic in DCS Core Wish List
And the wing mounted sidewinder... So typical! -
DCS: Mig-29, with AFM and proper radar, 6DOF and all DCS-A10c level of fidelity? Hell yeah! If just Mig-29 for DCS World with SFM, we already have it in FC3.

Yup, and the graphic engine is so well tuned that CBU's do not even stutter the sim. (And tessellation is very deep!) Maybe you were not invited by our secret conspiracy think tank? Sorry for you... 2 years, not that long :P

There are many thread about this sim in the 'Other Sim News' subforum Look there

Thanks C0ff for the answer.

And my next GPU choice too.

DCS:688 L-A :megalol: lol because nothing is more secret than a nation's sub... BUUUUUT, that could be awesome to have naval Ops also.

Thank you for the update Wags. Playground nearly completed but EDGE-Enhanced not ready. I've missed that info. But thanks again for keeping us informed...

I was loled just after seen the 'blood drops' on the screen... I watched it till the end and what killed me was the QTE asking to press the 'Y' button to rise the hand of the vegetable that flew the über-F-22

Is that reality? Before: Many time spent on developing, not that much on debugging/patching (always as 'continued development') Now, I feel there is a lot of work and time spent on debugging and patching the existing product, also adding features but where are the 'great projects' like EDGE, Nevada terrain, 'DCS: US Fixed Wing'? Are those projects considered as 'second zone' or 'too-complicated-by-now-because-there-is-so-much-work-to-do-to-make-DCSW-flawless-and-we-don't-have-time/ressource-enough...' There was an announce that Nevada terrain was/is produced by another team, we've seen many screenshots (awsome btw) but what's the state now? Is Nevada terrain finished but new graphic engine still in dev? Are both ready and outstandingly beautiful but for the next GPU generation? Is Nevada terrain not ready? Is the team preparing a surprise map? Do they play LAN the new CoD? Is the cake a lie? So much questions, so much time without even a screenshot. :helpsmilie: (OK, that makes a little crybaby but I took bad habits in the 'FC3 announcement' thread:D )

And to complete, here is an article about the different features (functionalities) of the API between its different versions:
-
We all know what DirectX is and we approximately all know (not deeply) the differences between Dx9 - 10 and 11. I've just read an article (in french) concerning DirectX 11.1 and it's supported OS and GPU. One of the functionality of the API made me think about that: - DCS World is currently integrally rendered. By this way, it's possible to have a view of what's happening anywhere on the map. And that's nice, but CPU-GPU consuming. In the article, I've read that: With Direct3D11, 'Clip Planes' were not usable with the D3D9 generation of GPU's. Clip Planes can define zones where the rendering of the objects can be evicted, because that are outside the FOV or because that are too far away from the vision point. The supplementary flexibility introduced with Direct3D10 in the definition of the Clip Planes, and reconducted with Direct3D11, made it incompatible with older GPU's. Direct3D11.1 along with the 9.x funcionnality level is able to reinterpret certain kinds of Clip Planes in a format supported by DirectX9 (Original Version in French) So, ED, do you plan to use D3D11 or 11.1? What do you think over this functionality and generally with the D3D11 / 11.1 functionalities like 'Target Independent Rasterazation' (displacement of irregular geometric forms treatment from the CPU to the GPU)? And the community, do you think it should be a good idea to move the engine to Dx11?

What happened to the sun glare?

Might be fixed with EDGE. I hope... -
Considering a GPU upgrade, but on a tight budget

DCS LOCKON Flaming Cliffs 3 Promo Video
Cedaway replied to ExGreyFox's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
FC3 promo video? What? We see exclusively the F-15C and its 6DOF Pit, there is just a Su-25 on taxi, then briefly aloft and shot down by a... F-15. We just see a Su-27 (external) shot down and the ending is : F-15, Su-27, P-51 and KA-50 in one DCS World. The Cake is a lie: If you buy FC3, you'll not receive neither DCS P-51 nor DCS BS! And what about Su-27/33, Mig-29's, A-10a promo? Waiting for the 'unofficial' FC3 promo by GlowingAmraam... EDIT: @Esac_mirmidon: "Just kiddin´ , it´s a good promo but.... Eagles everywhere..." Normal, it's developed by Eagle Dynamics :megalol: EDIT2: And the banner above the forum is still inviting to buy FC2... -
Can you post your PC config and error log file? That might help.
-
The only frustration is that I just finished to remap the controls for FC3, for all aircraft! :megalol: Same player, shoot again :badmood:
