That's why I'm expecting a day a 'DCS: russian fighter' to come. Not US style, variation is welcome and a new approach of 'the way to fly' is always welcome. FPM on one side, another symbology in another side... Who cares, the important is to learn, no? Isn't that why we're flying DCS titles? As 159th_Viper said earlier "take the time to learn the Russian birds - it's well worth it." I'm interested. Come on, Beczl, release your -21bis...

I finally upgraded. Not without trouble: I have a dual boot GRUB Ubuntu / W7 I had to erase ubuntu partition, repair boot loader with W8 DVD in command-line then reboot on W7, upgrade, reboot on Ubuntu DVD and finally reinstall dual boot GRUB Ubuntu - W8... I also had trouble with 'Classic Shell'. That introduced mess in the system: I couldn't shut W8 down anymore. I had to reboot in Ubuntu to shut the PC down... Weird. I just removed Classic Shell and did an automatic repair from W8 DVD... Seems flawless now. But the startup of the system seems to be a bit slower than W7... MAybe sould I let the time for the superfetcher to do its job...

Imagine now the people around here disinterests from FC3 and gets a social life :lol: :P Noooo, just kidding...:megalol:

Some market 'specialists' stated that this good price was a way to encourage customers to buy W8. They foresees moderate - bad sells because 50%+ of windows users are under W7, which is commonly seen as a very good OS. MS had two choices: - Delay the release of W8 and definitly lose the tablet and smartphones market or - Release W8 (+ W8 RT) and try to be competitive on PC's, Tablet and Smartphones. They encourage people to migrate from XP-Vista-W7 to W8 because there is a chance the customer would then like to buy a 'surface' tablet and/or a W8 phone. The goal is to create an 'ecosystem' like Apple did with their Mac+Istuffs. A good way to ensure 'fidelity' of the customers. Aaaannnd, ALDEGA, you're right: MS tries to copy the business model of Apple/Istore to (again) ensure the (lockup) fidelity of the customers...

I made it. I bought W8... But I can't install! Each time it says me 'impossible to install, rolling back to old system' stuff (in french) I guess it's due to my dual boot GRUB Ubuntu + W7. Sooooo, got the choice: 1) Consider my W7 installation runs fine and shouldn't touch it until I feel the need to. 2) Take a day or 2 off to completely remove GRUB, ubuntu partition, re-format, reinstall and tune the heck... Guess what? Old sentence comes to me: 'If it runs fine, don't touch it'. I think the W8 installation will be delayed. EDIT = @HiJack: I think the 'good price' update is not going over 01 january 13. check for yourself if it does apply to your country too.

OpenGl seems to be very powerful and highly compatible. Why isn't it more used? Maybe should we ask that to several developers. Maybe this is the beginning of an answer:

My last favorite games were Fallout NV and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Series. I like the atmosphere of Dishonored (From readings and teasers). I think I'll buy it.

I've read somewhere (can't find the source anymore:doh:) that the problem was not DirectX api itself but the driver support for graphic cards in linux.

First, de-activate (I think you should find 'a10_protect.exe' to deactivate) and uninstall your Steam A-10c Then Download and install DCS World + A-10c module. When asked, enter your Steam A-10c code into DCS-World (when launching a mission) Happy flights!
