  1. Depends on the mission, options like that can be disabled by the mission designer
  2. If you want the SA-11 to shoot at the player at that range it should be pretty simple. mission start > (no condition necessary) > group AI off (SA-11) Once > Unit in zone (Player)(Trigger zone you'll place over the SA-11) > Group AI on (SA-11) You will have to place a trigger zone in the ME over the sam site, for 9nm give it a diameter of about 18KM hope that makes sense
  3. +1, I've even gone so far as to trigger illum flares in my night mission ramp starts! We need lighting!
  4. I'm probably never going to go through the trouble of using anything but the built in yardstick myself, but hey you never know:) Slacker, the yardstick IMHO is quite useful for getting a sense of ripple spacing for dumb bombs.
  5. I use the yardstick for that myself. It's worth noting that it's quite rough, as you stated you have to have a proper aspect to get a reliable measurement. Also, the zoom isn't exactly sensitive, so that's been a bit of a problem for me as well. Hopefully someone else has a few tricks up their sleeve that they're willing to share
  6. Than markpoints/waypoints it is my friend! The TGP can be slaved to a grid, and with the DTS it will know the elevation. But it doesn't really know what it looking at :) it wont auto recognize targets for you, you have to let the plane know that you've found a point of interest. Or in your case two points of interest, you'll have to do the math on distance. You could hook your marks on the TAD and get distance with 1 mile accuracy
  7. The TGP displays a yard stick by default (the number on the right hand side of the right crosshair) You can toggle it to display in meters or feet (meters is default). The yardstick reference being one of the horizontal lines of your crosshair. Obviously the value will change depending on your field of view. You could also accomplish this using markpoints/waypoints for larger distances. I'm sure there are many other ways to do it that I can't think of!
  8. ^^^ That sounds F?!&$%# fantastic
  9. Try google maps, instead of google earth. For whatever reason the "tiles" over Georgia in google maps look better than those of google earth (I'm guessing my google earth is way out of date) When I get off work I'll try and find those tad maps. I personally think this would be the best option. They are the maps we have to fly with after all!
  10. Joyride, You could also try google maps (half joking/half serious :)) Also, all the images that make up your TAD maps can be located in your DCS folder. I'll look around and see if I can find them, as they look quite a bit cooler, IMHO, than the ME map. Rabbit
  11. touché... Ironically, I rarely play Black Shark :megalol:
  12. When you've posted the last 4 replies in the "You've played too much Black Shark when..." thread ;)
  13. Can any one confirm that this will not work for helicopter groups? The options appear to be there (and it will work fine for me with planes) but the helicopters always just start at mission start.
  14. $1.5 million, thinking about getting one are we? :)
  15. I'm for ED modeling everything in as realistic a way as possible (Both in terms authenticity and development constraints :)) Here's a clip from a targeting pod showing the impact of a 500pounder on a car and a few dudes (Warning Graphic!). If you look carefully you will notice that not only are the individuals on the ground not "vaporized" but a few of them run away after the impact. The car also does a nice backflip. http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=c74_1232550018 ^^^That's the real deal right there. No real blood and guts to speak of, from the pilots view anyway. I think given EDs track record thus far it would be safe to say that they would love to simulate all these things with full fidelity. With any luck, a few modules down the road, they will be able to pull it off
  16. And thats why I fly the Stuka in IL2 Cliffs of Dover:)
  17. Please share! You've clearly made a huge contribution to the sim already, thanks for that:worthy::worthy::worthy:
  18. Lol, he'd call the FBI, and I'd call INS. He'd be on the next boat back to god knows where... :D
  19. Yeah, but the look on your supers face when he comes in to reinstall your air conditoner/fix your crappy sink/toilet etc... Priceless :surprise:
  20. When you place a plane in the ME a box with options will show up on the right hand side of your screen, look for the drop down labelled skill level. Set it to "Player" for single player and "client" for multiplayer
  21. It was until I tried to go head to head with Wispy, that got ugly fast:pilotfly:
