  1. I guess I'm the only one, but I think the terrain in A10 looks better than the shots you posted. With the exception of the ground clutter/grass effect.
  2. There's no question that the guided stuff is far more accurate and deadly, arguably a lot cooler too :D But there is a time and place for the dumb stuff too! Adjust your tactics accordingly for dumb bombs (i.e. drop in pairs or ripple off the whole lot!). You will, hopefully, have more success 1 MK 82 at 20,000 ft is very unlikely to score a hit. 2 CBU 87s with a high HOF on the other hand...
  3. Additionally, TMS down long will reset SPI to steerpoint. But I have a feeling your solution lies in EtherealN reply
  4. You're probably right.
  5. I seem to recall seeing a keybinding in the controls menu for mirrors (this was in the early beta days). Could be a figment of my imagination, wouldn't be te first time... I'd check it for you now, but I'm at work.
  6. 1. Depending on the TADs level of zoom you may or may not see the map. You can change TAD zoom with DMS up or down (TAD as SOI). Also, OSB 18ish toggles between the three map modes (off, man, auto) 2. The HUD will always show your RALT. Lower right side, indicated as RXXX untill you're low enough to get a reading. You can set this to display as a tape by setting IFFCC to test, and navigating to the display modes page
  7. Right slightly irrelevant, like I said... According to the pilots, they had the FLIRs tuned "as good as they get" (see second vid). From what I can tell the point of the flight(s) was to test the two systems head to head. What I thought was interesting, was how different the thermal image of the trees appear between the two systems
  8. Clouds as seen through a FLIR system @ 0:27 http://www.youtube.com/user/bath831surf400#p/u/7/ohxwoHaCJsE ...Also slightly irrelevant but cool none the less
  9. Snoopy, Awesome... As always ^^^Everyone's a critic :D
  10. Here's a slightly irrelevant vid showcasing two different generations of FLIR systems (on an Apache). Gives some good insight into how different FLIR can look depending on the sensor:thumbup: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zRcbTtZpoEI&feature=related
  11. I would say that all comes fown to personal preference. Next time you strafe without PAC, try to throw in sharp (fairly slight) nose down input at the moment you engage the trigger... With some practice, you will become the PAC :D
  12. On that note, I can't remember the last time I had a Maverick miss it's intended target (they used to miss every once and a while in the earlier builds). Was this feature removed in 1.1.0.8?
  13. I'm fairly sure that the pod in question is the AN/AAQ-33 sniper pod based on the symbology in the lower right corner of the display. For the record, I'm not suggesting we get this pod, or the features of this pod (that'd be pretty cool though :)) I just want to see duds modeled. @Frostiken I'm thinking that the clip in question is probably another A10 loaded with some HEI. Pretty narley stuff!
  14. Especially with the Paveways, Jdams and other iron bombs. It's not unheard for these things to not go bang. I think it would be a pretty cool addition to this sim environment if we didn't always know that our weapons will preform as advertised (Because in reality they don't!) And I'd have that on a silver platter please...:clown_2: See last clip in this vidhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zGJ-5aEnZMI&feature=player_embedded
  15. Nice, I'm going to have to try something along these lines. Thanks!
  16. ^^^Confirmed. Likewise, you can turn on your ground power, than kill the engines
  17. Hog 2-1 wilco
  18. It would be an awesome feature for sure. I suspect that it would already be implemented if it was an easy task. Perhaps in the next module we will see something around these lines. This got me thinking, slightly off topic of course :), What if I fly a mission and save the track, then edit the track to add another player/client aircraft. Can I fly as my own wingman? :D
  19. Agreed on all of the above. At the moment we only have the tools available to us, with a little imagination we can make the best of them!
  20. At the moment you can sort of do this yourself with a load mission trigger that's dependent on a list of objectives that need to be accomplished. Let's say that the victory condition of mission one is; Russian command post destroyed. You would create a load mission trigger (multi player only) and create a new mission with those included units starting out dead. I know that's not exactly what your getting at, and a definite +1 on your request. This might be a suitable work around for you in the mean time
