  1. Interesting, a Borey class with its predecessor Typhoon class in the background. An Akula class attack submarine. Look at the towed array on the vertical fin. And it looks like the photo from Marcos was taken from a Typhoon. The missile hatch doors are visible.
  2. Hola Swift. I knew it will be only a matter of time to some thread evolved in a discussion like this one. Don't worry about your feelings because your sorrows are genuine. Real War is something the Man can be ashamed off. It is our nature to fight each others, even if there aren't valid reasons like danger of loss of life. We can kill for the simple annihilation of the other group of individuals, that aren't in our group; Man is the more violent animal species. We loose our humanity when we don't feel any compassion for the other men and start to hate all the others, thinking about superiority and inferiorizing the others: it's a strong sign of fascism that we must learn to recognize and avoid. Young males join the military in a epoch of their life when they are in needing to affirm themselves. It's an rite of passage for manhood. I'm not saying that the military class in a society are dispensable. In a utopy world maybe, not in the real one: we can avoid violence but in a lot of moments in History, societies had to struggle in face of violence they didn't ask for. And that's why i'm totally against professional armies, they are easier to control and used for ethical wrong reasons. Swift, think that this is sport of tactics, sometimes called a sport of Kings. We can be Humans after that.
  3. Well, it isn't a specifically book about aviation but I recommend this upcoming publication, "Invisible Armies: An Epic History of Guerrilla Warfare from Ancient Times to the Present" by Max Boot. http://www.economist.com/news/books-and-arts/21569681-fighting-insurgency-requires-patience-restraint-and-good-public-relations http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0871404249/economistshop-21 http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0871404249/theeconomists-20 I also have: "A History of Warfare", by John Keegan http://www.amazon.com/A-History-Warfare-John-Keegan/dp/0394588010/ref=tmm_hrd_title_0?ie=UTF8&qid=1358475071&sr=1-1 "Stalingrad" and "The Fall of Berlin", by Antony Beevor http://www.amazon.com/Stalingrad-The-Fateful-Siege-1942-1943/dp/0670870951/ref=tmm_hrd_title_0?ie=UTF8&qid=1358475111&sr=1-1 http://www.amazon.com/Fall-Berlin-1945-Antony-Beevor/dp/0142002801/ref=sr_1_3?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1358475111&sr=1-3&keywords=beevor+stalingrad
  4. :D This Beaker? I don't know, Iraqui_outlaw talked to her... But girls in DCS can be an urban myth. :)
  5. There was once a young girl, not sure if a teenager or in the young twenties, that used to sparsely frequent the 104th server :) She used to drive the Ka-50. She had "princess" in her nickname and used to jump on TS.
  6. Someone call the Sonalysts guys, we are needing some attack submarines and frigates. :D Seriously.
  7. No worries, here there are a bunch of never satisfied guys (and probably, very few girls) :)
  8. Because ED is making the Viper. :pilotfly: ....Running and hiding! :megalol:
  9. Who cares about a FW190... where are the Messerschmitt? :D Joking :)
  10. FW-190... did I hear it wrong?
  11. Make a DCS MiG-29, and even a DCS Hornet, and we will be around BFM for months. :)
  12. It seems the spectators will be strapped to the chairs because of the G forces involved. The MiGs will be real MiGs. And there will be a integral nude scene with McGillis in the bath!
  13. This should be true for the N019 radar, going from TWS to STT with autolock, iluminating the target for the SARH missile. In the N019M, does the two targets, on TWS(2), get warning of ARH missile guiding? I'm supposing it will not be used STT mode... http://toad-design.com/migalley/index.php/jet-aircraft/mig29/mig29-n019-radar/
  14. Why a MiG-23MLA when you can have a MLD (which approaches from the radar and weapons capabilities of the MiG-29 9-12)? MiG-29M/MiG-35? Sure... Why not more realistic choices like MiG-29 9-12/9-13 or MiG-29SMT. Or even a MiG-29K? From this list, MiG-25PDSL :)
  15. In TWS mode, there is an autolock. It seems You lock one bandit and the other get locked automatically. The radar has to be illuminating the targets, of course. And if there are more then two targets in the radar cone? It seems this system is in process of being implemented. Let's wait.
  16. The T-800 Band.
  17. OK, You can bring the Sassicaia to taste (for the price it will only be tasted :megalol:) Why I'm bringing the wine? http://www.vinalies-internationales.com/fr/resultats-vinalies-internationales.php?pays=Portugal&region=&appellation=&producteur=&chateau=&couleur=&millesime=&type_vin=&medaille_r=Or&compare=+and+&lim=&langue=fr&annee_vinalies=2012&order=&sens=# 18 gold medals, which 7 are for dessert wines. And there's a lot more very good wines, for less then 5€ a bottle here :drunk: . For 10€ You buy something to be drink in the Olympus! http://www.vinalies-internationales.com/fr/resultats-vinalies-internationales.php?pays=Portugal&region=&appellation=&producteur=&chateau=&couleur=&millesime=&type_vin=&medaille_r=Or&compare=+and+&lim=&langue=fr&annee_vinalies=2012&order=&sens=# 9 gold medals for Italy :D
  18. I'll bring the wine! :)
  19. They'll be bringing variety to the menus. Pizza, pasta, risotto. And lot's of bruschetta!
  20. At first look, there's something absent: New MiG-29 6 DOF cockpit New MiG-29 3D model :D That's OK, we can't have everything. And I will be very busy, in the next months, learning how to make good use of the MiG-21bis.
  21. RAF Hawk. Mach Loop HD :)
  22. <<Sorry, you cannot give reputation to this post.>> Classic! :) Charred Dreams Fire and Ice
  23. After searching the forum and read a little, I realize I didn't want to use the term "barrel roll". It seems the correct term is "cranking". Cranking, varying altitude from 5000 m to 8000 m ASL, while maintaining lock and guiding a launched missile, using the SPO-15 to beware of distances. https://dl.dropbox.com/u/5076546/bvr_aim120c_r27er.acmi I don't remember what is inside this track, as I have two tracks with R-27ER and I'm right now on Linux. DCSW version 1.2.2.7570, against AI F-15C. Edit: Nice, it installed with Wine. And in this track I'm with a Su-27. It seems to me, right now and compared with FC2, the missiles are leading more. https://dl.dropbox.com/u/5076546/bvr_aim120c_r27r.acmi
  24. If the F-15C presently modeled has this capability, with or without AWACS support, then it must be modeled. It will add to tactics variety.
  25. That should bring a more realistic scenario. The problem is that it will be need team coordination to ingress in enemy territory: organizing "Alpha" packages with Iron Hands, Strikers and TarCAPs. True.
