  1. ^^^ Yes, while waiting for responses here, jump in with some TS Server. Normally, the guys which will be there are the ones that will be more helpful :) Go for the 104th, the 51st PVO or the 74th TS server. Here for the V Squadrons http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=34062
  2. Hello FFOman. Regarding the patches, I have the download version but I'll make the educated guess that You only have to run the application to register. After that You can go here for the DCS World 1.2.0 http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?ProductId=21&end_pos=137&scr=product&lang=en Here for DCS A10C http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?scr=product&ProductId=8&end_pos=136&lang=en Be adviced the Multiplayer code is bugged and sometimes is dificult to login with master server. It's expected that in the next weeks this will be solved with the next version of DCS World.
  3. I won't rant about Glowing Amraam interrupting the MiG-21 trailer only for the sake of stop the whining about FC3 :D (Hey, I used the word FC3!! :))
  4. Even if we will not see MiG-29 launching two R-77 while on TWS or having TTA/TTI on Russian birds, the introduction of AFM on the missiles will bring more realistic weapons envelope employing. Only this pays half the price of FC3 :) Bringing the fast movers to DCSW will pay almost the other half. I'm hoping that after reviewing the SFM airplanes they will feel more relaxed and less scripted. It's a shame that only the F-15C has the improved cockpit but it is well understood that the amount of work to improve all the other cockpits is well over the man-hour work available. Bring it.
  5. This is most probable what in english is called sandstone ("arenito" in portuguese) and coarse sediments. In the most incredible form it can be calcareous, which brings the jaw dropping hypothesis of his organic origin (the chemical origin by precipitation is the least probable hypothesis). This formations are the result of most probable precipitation and runoff erosion in sedimentary terraces. Each terrace is the result of one specific set of conditions, one specific moment in time. This geological formations in Mount Sharp and the geological exploration and cartography of Mars are the main reasons for the landing in this general location. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fluvial_terrace
  6. Oh Yeah! Bring me some Mirage III/2000. Tough contenders for ACM.
  7. My daily OS for work and general use is Ubuntu. For five years. Even the firmware of my router is a DD-WRT :D And yes, to install Ubuntu, nowadays, is only a matter of "clicking in three or four buttons". All GUI way.
  8. On some days I could do that :D
  9. Well, right now I can send my car to Mars. Its the same weight, 900kg :D Outstanding.
  10. I think not. There's a 7min or something delay, the reason for the automated entry and descent. The "crew" is interpretating the receiving telemetry... lets see. 2min entry.
  11. The "crew" is crossing the fingers, right now :) 48min to land or to make another hole... Realtime drama.
  12. Hello Michael, welcome :) Nellis AFB will come with the Nevada map/scenario. It will introduce the EDGE engine and, as a new map, of course it will be not free. Cheers.
  13. I will vote for a Star Destroyer :D And yes, Orbiter is a blast. I wasted "some" hours when it was out, learning the slingshots mechanics :)
  14. Hell yeah! Imagine the videos we can trigger after mission accomplished... :gun_smilie:
  15. We will be messing with some of the worst nightmares of a lot of people in Central Europe. Nothing that we aren't doing already with the present Caucasus theater. Probably the pain can be minimized if the aproache will be an historically one. As I finished the work I had in hands I was keeping away as possible from the PC for weeks, to the point I resumed serious freshwater fishing since almost ten years and trekking since I destroyed one knee while climbing three years ago. It's about time to install an Nvidia 570 I arranged for half the price and take the feel of Combined Arms :D I would like to mess with scenery building as I'm used with terrain 3D modeling. But a detailed terrain model will only be a part of the atmosphere integration; it will be needed to populate with infrastructures and correct the roads, bridges and some other buildings positions and orientations, according to the used textures. This is an herculean work and it isn't an one man's work. Probably, dividing the working area in parts (quadricules or other adapted division) will help divide and coordinating a team work. It will be needed first an inventory of the available digital cartography, by scale and model (raster or vector): terrain models, occupation and soil use (to delineate forests, agriculture lands, urban occupation, by type), communications infrastructures, hidrography (preferentially already classified), imagery (aerial or high resolution vertical satellite imagery). It will be needed to know first the EDGE capabilities and how it handles the data. Personally, I prefer that this work will be done by a professional team. It is a comprehensive work (and it will be, at least for me, a pain in the ass to repeat part of my professional work), and if done by a payable and dedicated team the cost will be divided by the community and the finished work will be guaranteed. If there is, after all, an urge to do an Cold War Central Europe scenario, it's better to know if there isn't already started work: it is awful and odious to have repeated work. Hey, Gecko6, nice avatar :)
  16. That is a simplification of War by Western philosophers received by Clausewitz. War is more complicated and with a lot more of facets than that. Read "A History of Warfare" by John Keegan. This book is written brilliantly. Edit: Well, I was rereading about what Keegan wrote and concluded that he is criticized a lot about this position. In his books he pursues the view of the Man at War. The critics try to assert that he overlooks about politics.
  17. As Turkey started warmongering we can expect something analogous to the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution. Only Russia opposition to an attack and the Iran situation will prevent an escalate. Meanwhile, with all the disinformation we can be in the face of a ruse of war. The Debka article was colored, as usual, but always give another meaning to what we know.
  18. That yellow card must be a expensive one to someone. Perhaps that cost is contemplated in tax reduction :megalol:
  19. 104th_Cobra

    DCS: FPS

    The Holy Cow forbids this!
  20. Bring it. Fast and low, with full load of bombs. And bring the Su-24 too. :)
  21. Why mix football/sports with politics/populism (5% politics/95% populism)... But, well... Go Karagounis and Katsouranis! Go Greece! LOL
  22. Speckfire, are you meaning some variant of the MiG-25? If someone implement this airplane this will be a blast :)
  23. Yeah, it was the usual scenery. Those bastards only started to run after the damage, when they could be more relieved.
  24. Improvised runways in case of main runways being disabled... That brings the importance of modeling runway repair (by time passed since damage, etc). The amount of resources to repair a runway must depend on the weapons suite used on runway pavement destruction (anti-runway bomb/rocket, general purpose bomb, cluster bomb, etc). Also, the runway damage must be permanent by server side: in multiplayer, after loging out and enter again, all runway damage and debris disappear.
  25. Probably, they made some great octupus in rice, with him :D
