  1. You'd need to attach the images folder which is stored alongside the profile for me to view it. At the moment it's a blank profile with some text where the switches would be. Being a Zeen profile it's probably a lot to upload, with all his nice textures! If you could just run the profile as it and print screen it to give me a reference, that would be easier for us both!
  2. I had to do this to customise an A-10C profile I adapted from the Helios website. I took a screenshot of the profile, imported it into Photoshop. I created a black layer and cut out holes where the viewports would need to show through. After I'd done that I removed the screenshot and saved the black layer as my Background texture. If you're not familiar with the process just send me a screenshot of the profile running on the intended display (Important that it's running there as the resolution has to be as it will appear in use, screenshots from the editor will not work. With that I'll generate you one! Attached is the kind of image I'm talking about. This is used as a background texture by Helios to blank out the screen under the profile, except for where the viewports are needed.
  3. It feels like a lifetime ago that I came across your website and training videos. Thanks for all the helpful content over the years. Hopefully you find a little more time in the future - The DCS community sorely needs more people like you!
  4. I'd recommend just using a larger monitor so you can pit gauges etc on too. Touchscreen even better as you can put switch panels on!
  5. As mentioned above, a shaft which is the correct length for the real a/c will not translate well to the TM:WH due to the longer throw of the gimbal. Theoretically if you could build some sort of gate to limit the axis then you could build something with a more realistic movement. The problems then begin with setting axis limits, and reduced input resolution resulting from not using all of the throw. The only 'real' way to do it is to build your own gimbal with a shorter throw and new input sensors.
  6. Have you considered putting a display around 19" behind the front panel? That way you could display the MFCD's as well as radar and RWR. You'd also have some space below the MFD's for other gauges!
  7. It'd be worth stating your country, so people can recommend a seller local to you. With the right numbers, turning a steel pipe and cutting a thread into it doesn't require a great deal of skill, but most of the sellers deliver a perfect product for a small premium. No trial and error involved.
  8. We are still working on logistics with our contact at Thrustmaster. The hardware is secured so nothing to worry about! As soon as we can get the podcast recorded we'll announce the second giveaway. Thanks everyone for your participation, and happy new year!
  9. Thanks for sharing guys. I look forward to comparing notes! :)
  10. Haha Ciribob, I had to edit down the amount of times I said "Kind of"! Euch it makes me cringe!
  11. Hopefully you all enjoy it. It's only my second ever podcast, so I hope I don't waffle too much. I hate listening to myself!
  12. Episode 14 is live! Apologies for the delay. As the unexpected British heatwave draws to an end, I'm forced to retreat back inside! Ciaran 'Ciribob' Fisher joins Ragtop to discuss DCS Simple Radio, the standalone integrated radio system. We discuss the technical aspects of Multiplayer voice comms in DCS World, and look at the different tools available to enhance your sim experience. Check out Ciribob and his excellent 'DCS SimpleRadio Standalone'. Enjoy!
  13. Thanks f4l0, appreciate the extra detail! Glad you enjoyed the episode!
  14. Episode 13 is live! As Dojo passes the hosting baton to me, I hope I can continue to deliver the standard he has set. We discuss VR, including the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, as well as Tactile Transducers; Primarily the Buttkicker Gamer 2, and how it can be improved with the addition of the SimShaker software. This is my first foray into Podcasting, so I welcome any feedback from the community. Enjoy!
  15. Cribob if you need any support in implementing the samples I sent Eddie, let me know. I can't help you with the coding sadly, but I can at least help you understand where each tone should be. Please use the 'SHORT' samples, as the longer ones take too long to sound when transmitting. If a pilot tries to zipper (Double mic click to signal acknowledgement of a message) using the long samples, there will be too much lag for it to work properly and the recipient will only hear one click. The TOD and WOD samples are not used in DCS at present, they are part of the HAVE QUICK frequency hopping system. (Feel free to implement it if you know how though, haha!)
  16. Do we have any validation on the claims the RA's are not flying the full display at RIAT? I can understand Farnborough as it's a civilian airport, and I've read the press release, but Fairford is an RAF airbase in MAA airspace.
  17. Thrustmaster is the superior product in most aspects. It's unlucky that you've had issues but repairing/replacing is a better solution than seeking an alternative in my opinion. I've had the Warthog and the X-52. The 52 was reliable but I wouldn't go back to it. Very cheap feeling and the software was garbage.
  18. Got any photos?
  19. Very interesting. It's a shame that like all startups these days, they're extremely non commital and vague about their project. No projected price and no idea when its coming out other than 'This year'. If it's accurate enough to engrave text on acrylic panels, and broad enough to cut out the box work, then I could be tempted.
  20. YES! I have honestly put off learning the Huey until you released this - My pit doesn't feel like a pit without your work :) Thanks once again for all your effort.
  21. Notable perhaps, but not truly meaningful. I doubt there are many who at the end of the Falklands were saying "Without the Pucara we'd never have won!". The A-10 scored a few helicopters in the gulf, but thats trivia - the important thing is that it scored something like 60-80% of AG kills. (From what I remember of W L Smallwood's book). That's meaningful. I personally don't feel that there is any true purpose for the Pucara in DCS. We have light attack aircraft which are fun, but there are other planes already, that I'd sooner pick.
  22. Capt. Zeen has fixed this. Visit his profile and you'll see a download link.
  23. Definitely. A lot of online Sqn's spend a lot of time and effort getting plugins to do this. Not to take anything away from the plugin developers who make great tools, but simply put, they cannot compete with the ease of use when compared to something built straight into the game. The argument of it being 'too complicated' is ridiculous to me. We're talking about a study level sim, for people who want to learn their chosen aircraft inside and out, but when it comes to radios we need simplicity? If people want the simple system (ala FC3 level aircraft) then simply have the choice to disable it. It's never been there so far so for those who can't be bothered to learn it, your experience remains unaltered. But for the enthusiast, its one area that DCS is severely lacking in, IMO. We have full fidelity systems modelled, the radios even work properly, yet you can't talk over them. Add that and we've got something very special. Most multiplayer games have VOIP already, and numerous developers have clearly indicated that it's not impossible to get VOIP hooked into the radios.
  24. You better get building! :D
  25. All this time I've been following this thread and I've just realised it's you here! Training in exchange for panels I think :P
