  1. I had a pair a while back, which were perfect. Sold them when I stopped simming. Since I got the bug again I repurchased some. First set had a faulty one but TM were very helpful in troubleshooting, and my retailer swapped thr faulty one. New set is once again perfect. As said above, with displays they're incredible, but even without I think they're worthwhile. Anything that stops me reaching for my mouse is a plus IMO! When it comes to getting/building accessories I try to focus on the ones I interact with the most, and build them.
  2. As I said - you may not need to replace it. They may send you the components.
  3. I'd contact Thrustmaster. First check your warranty. If it's in warranty then a replacement is probably the best option! If not, I've heard of people being sent individual components for repairing their HOTAS setups so I guess that could be an option. Give their customer support a call. They were very accommodating when my MFD broke.
  4. I got the 100mm and the only change I'd consider is a longer one. The way the stick moves with the added length is what makes the difference. You're moving the grip rather than pivoting it. The shorter you go the less pronounced that effect is. Personally, I see no benefit to going shorter.
  5. If you've not already trashed the files you could recover the controller settings file and drop it back in place once DCS recreates the folder structure. The same could be done for most of the files inside, but obviously one of them was causing the crash, so you might find that one or some of the files bring the issue back.
  6. I use VA and I've been through Froogles video but I can't figure out speaking the airfield name. The problem is that each airfield will appear sorted by distance, meaning you can't link one command to that airfield. Has anyone figured this out?
  7. I know that TARGET can dim the LED's in the TM Cougar MFD's, and you can also do it by pressing 14+15 and the brightness rocker. What I'd like to do is bind Helios to this so when my console lighting is turned on, so are the MFD lights. Possible?
  8. What's the mod Neil? Been looking desparately for something like that
  9. You know sometimes you'll be dreaming, and in your dream an alarm will be going off, deep inside a space ship or in a cave etc. Then when you wake up, it was your real alarm all along? This would give me nightmares!
  10. Sensible. You'll want to increase the spring tension if you're going to floor length. The stock spring will not be strong enough to return the stick to center at that length. The 100mm I have feels great because the required force is roughly halved. Needless to say, any less would be too loose. Here's a great example. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=1832350
  11. I'm using a 100mm extension and my only doubt is whether I should have got 120! Total upgrade, and like the others, I couldn't imaging flying without it now.
  12. I think we're seeing a more dispersed player count with the addition of so many modules. I imagine the player count overall is increased, or at least as high as it's been, but less people are flying one platform together. As a result we're probably seeing less people in any given mission/server.
  13. Looked into that but couldn't find anything relevant. Only power management settings in Device Manager but that was already off. Besides, as I said above, the issue persisted on a different computer, so it has to be the unit. I would get more if I hadn't bought these only 11 days ago!
  14. Figured as much after testing! Called the vendor who told me to email the details across because "It's very complicated" and now 36hrs later I've not heard anything back. Time for another call I think!
  15. Looking like it may be the MFD now, just tried plugging it into my Macbook Pro and it's doing exactly the same thing. Seems really odd however, the issue is EXACTLY as described in W8.1. Works perfectly for a while, then begins to flash and disconnect from Windows at random. All the while it's connected it works perfectly.
  16. I'm having this issue with Win 7 Ultimate 64. Plugged directly into numerous USB ports. Tried most things from this thread, and it only appears to affect one MFD. It seems to coincidental for it to be a faulty MFD though, this is too common an issue.
  17. Wow, stunning job. Any intention of building more of these?
  18. One more vote for an extension here. Makes a world of difference.
  19. The VKB stuff looks well put together, but primarily helo oriented. Not really my bag baby! The vertical pedal movement also seems a bit odd.
  20. The queue is my problem. Ideally wanted something sooner than a few months. The Slaw F-16 was my first choice but he's temporarily ceased production, and it sounds like the new version won't have the F-16 style footrests anymore. I understand that MFG will be building F-16 style footrests in the future but again, no ETA.
  21. Hi all, looking to buy some rudder pedals in the UK. Ideally Slaw Device or MFG Crosswinds, but Saitek Combat rudders also an option. Thanks
  22. They look a lot like Dimebug's plans. Apologies if they're not but they look very much alike!
  23. Mine just arrived; thought I'd give my comments. Arrived within 48 hours of purchase, with personal emails each step of the way. Packaged very safely and sent with tracked, signed for delivery. My first impression was shock at how heavy this thing is! It's SOLID. If the stick and base could stand up to it, 3 people could hang off this. Fitted to the stick in under 20 seconds, and the extension cable is marked to make positioning easy. Feel is incredible. I opted for the 100mm and it feels exactly how I'd hoped. Tension is much closer to my modded (Stiffened) X-52 which makes fine maveuvering much easier. The added throw definitely gives better accuracy and positioning. The center detent is reduced to just what I'd like. You know where center is but it doesn't grab you. The stick still recenters perfectly from any deflection, with no significant slop at all. The amazing thing is there is absolutely zero stiction from the base now. Any movement you make, no matter how small is silky smooth. Honestly I thought £40 was a little steep initially, and for a piece of machined metal, it is. But after the whole experience, it's totally worth it. It's not a piece of metal, it's an overall improvement for my flight sim experience. 10/10 Thanks Wasyl100!
  24. Words are cheap for a kickstarter business, but can be a very expensive mistake for a consumer. I'd sit and watch this one. If he can't make any prototypes or even basic images before taking your money, then he clearly doesn't have any capital and is relying on the cash up front. Dangerous thing to invest in.
