Why bother with npole? It's apparent that he neither get's the idea behind kickstarter, nor does he understand what the real F35 is about. ("Facts"... Yeah, yeah, ok :P) It seems he is just upset because KI didn't chose a plane to develope he likes and now starts trolling around. So just let him do this as long as he want's to.

Mi-8: Question regarding appearance
Lord_Pyro replied to rrohde's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
Take a close look at the second picture. The tires are not on the same level, this chopper raises also his nose a bit. -
Cool, cool, cool!!! Seems like earlyevalaccess will soon pay off!

The textures are as stealthy as the plane. So without a sophisticated hardware you won't see them :)
-
Russian laws have also changed in that matter, Cliffs of Dover was censored therefore.
-
Is it Luneburg or Lüneburg? (which would sound more realistic)
-
There were some voices some month ago that BST developes this for ED or hand in hand with them. My question before aimed to clearify who has his hands on that topic right now or maybe if it has been idled until more ressources for its developement are available.
-
There was nothing about multicrewing the Huey. Have you passed this task over to ED or are you just not allowed to talk about this feature atm?
-
But he was right. Blemmen posted unrelated bullshit, what makes it hard for (the readers) to take him serious any longer :( I mean "it's ugly" - your personal interpretation of ugly, many may think it's not. ((don't bother us with your personal feelings, really that's not as interesting as it may sound in your ears)) "it's old" - so what most of the DCS aircraft are also. "can't do a lot of things" - you can trap rockets or gunpods at it, it cann carry troops or lift cargo. So it's about the same as the huey only with a red star. In fact it is quite a good counterpart for the huey. So the more we all read your post, the more we think that you just wanted to troll around. And now no one will like you anymore. Wise choice man, wise choice :) ((if when you can guess correctly what game this last sentence was quoted from, you may rise again in my eyes (a bit)))

In 2 days there will be news anyway. So don't rush it.

The June 21st DCS News Update Discussion Thread
Lord_Pyro replied to SkateZilla's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Great News :) -
Training held in poor weather. Heavy rain, clouds down to 500m, beginning of the night. Takeoff together. Flying together. Soon our human A10C was beeing spiked by 3 enemy F15's (also humancontrolled). We intercepted and managed to shoot them down. Ok, one AIM120 went well in our favor, picking an eagle instead of our flanker :D The first time we RTB'd, about 4 Tons of fuel left. Carrier was not well visible and he was not moving, thus shortening the landingstrip. But everything wen't fine and we started to take new Weapons first and then ordered new Gas. As i had about 6 Tons, the A10 complained again about some Eagles. Immediate Takeoff, Heroes rushing to the rescue! This time we faced only 2 of them. One behaved smart and kept himself outside our missileenvelope as soon an we fired. But so he couldn't fire back, it was fine that way. My lead pushed to the other one, both firing missiles at about the same time. And both did the same mistake. They miscalculated their movements, ending up in the clouds, way too fast. And soon the lost their sense of orientation, broke out of the clouds, but faced the earth. With 500m height, eyes more on the RWR/TEWS than the horizontalindicator or Hud.... Booom! 2 Manouverkills :( With only 1,2 Tons fuel left, i decided to take the slow route home. I still had to stretch it for an 20min flight. At the Returnpoint i hat to dive carefully through the louds, ending up in some dark environment. Fearing groundcontact i realy had problems pitching my nose down, thus repeatedly entering the clouds again, diving out of them, scaring about the altimeter shrinking to impactpoint, raising the nose again... Not the greatest fun i tell you :D But i managed to get on final and at 1,7km the carrier slowly started to come in sight. Landing went well but not smoothly, checked in at the first wire, a little less thrust and i would have bitten the dust...or better deck. At that time about 400 or 500kg fuel were left (4-5%) so i could have missed 1 or 2 approaches and after that, no burner would have been possible. But it didn't come to this, so it was ok. Who says FC3 is boring? ;)

Would you want/ allow flyable civilian aircraft in DCS
Lord_Pyro replied to Kroll's topic in DCS Wishlist
Back in the good old days, as i still was a little girl, we chased the yak40 as a VIP plane. Times were a lot harder... We literally had nothing at disposal and yet were assigned to save the world. Sometimes twice a day... Kids these days don't know about this... We had absolutely nothing back then... But the yak40! .... Oh yes, the yak 40 was flying... In these days. You could look out of the window and there were houndreds of yak 40. But we had nothing.. Not even a charriot... All those yaks.... But it was a better time. A simpler time... -
A suggestion to ED DCS World FC versions
Lord_Pyro replied to 71st_Mastiff's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Yeah, i'm Sheriff Pyro Mc'Cool, Lord of the Firemountains. I supervise every AAM Launch in DCS and regarding of the situation they were launched in, i decide if they hit or not. So be nice to me and i may grow the will to let your missiles hit the mark even under ridiculous bad conditions ;) No seriously, was the "what the hell" offensive in your eyes? It may be that it might be inapropriate to post this but i don't know for shure. There are countries out there with strict political correctnessrules, so if it offended you, tell me. In my eyes it was nothing special though... -
A suggestion to ED DCS World FC versions
Lord_Pyro replied to 71st_Mastiff's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Russian missiles are crap? What the hell are you doing with them? Yesterday i had an all human 2 vs 3, su 33 vs f15 and later we encountered the same eagles again but only as 2 vs 2. We dodged their 120s and a combination of 27er/r brought the eagles down. It is not so much the missilebehaviour it is more how you deploy them. The Amraam is quite a precise killer but certainly not unbeatable. Both times i made it back to my beloved carrier. The second time i lost my lead though, but it was a manouverkill due some nasty weathersettings. -
But what is more Important? To start an engine or to turn it off, what also Fuelcutoff can do? This is about starting the engine correctly (but only if you manage to twist your view a bit IF you have the hardware for this/ map a workaround) or start it incorrectly but at least you can start it. The thing is, they did not move the switch because they just wanted to, or they thought it would be cool to change the pit a bit. There was an intention behind this. And instead of complaining about this or shouting "i won't buy it, till it's fixed!" one should honor how they thought 3 steps ahead. The easiest way to solve this would btw be a left/rightclick switch. Or mousewheel. You can optically let 2 seperate click/scrollactions move the same switch but perform different actions. So maybe leftclicking will use it as starter and right click turns it off. But instead of thinking about solutions like these some of the members here like to just complain and let the rest of the world take care of the problem :)

Still one week <.<
-
And i would also welcome the operation of detailed IFF in a10 and huey but some things may never come (although the mig21 may change this)
-
The point was that some ppl here wanted belsimtek to change the starterswitch in order to perform the startup exactly like the checklists suggests it. So i startet to question the need for the huey to get started by a checklist because there are so few steps, you can't possible miss one. But at the topic, i dont think it is wise to question the decision belsimtek took, as they decided to move the starterswitch to an otherwise mostly unused switch. I mean they faced a real problem, taking into account that many ppl without trackir would have a hard time locating that switch, then they came up with an aesthetic solution and yet some start complaining about this? Thats quite some arrogant behaviour if you ask me. "**** your decision, **** everyone without Tir, I want the lever at exactly that location where it is in rl, otherwise i'm not buying this product, so **** it too!" So don't step over my little bullshitting about checklists above, that was just to skip some time at work. In my oppinion the Starterlocation shouldn't be changed because it has been done that way for the sake of majority. (and btw, just mapp that thing to your stick, for warthogusers the apu starter fits perfectly)
-
Have i ever said that the german luftwaffe doesn't use checklists nowadays? I was referring to ww2 and for the planes at that time there was no need to.
-
Bullshit, germans NEVER forget things. If they miss a point then only because in their eyes it was not mandatory. Even if it would be such trivial things like switching master arm on or switching from APU gen to normal gens :O I guess what you really wanted to say is, that even Austrians make failures (which is right) :)
-
I am not against checklists in general, i agree that in some planes like a hornet you certainly need them. But the huey doesn't need much steps to run ok. And even in the hornet you would probably develope an own systems of performing things, without missing stuff. In the A10 it took me about 5 to 10 startups, same goes for f16. Huey was only one, Mustang 2. Problem with all this checklistbehaviour i have is that it transmittes the feeling to me that ppl don't know what they are doing or don't understand the reasons/ technical backgrounds for it. But maybe it's just my countrys heritage xD Our pilots were a bit surprised/schocked as they started training with the usaf. Literally everything they should do was supported by checklists. Before these days every pilot received a personal instruction about the plane he was flying, covering detailed information for the startup. Then there might have been some aiding signs in the pit but if training was over it was expected that the pilot could start the plane without any further guidance. But one mustn't forget about the roots of the checklists. It was to strap even some farmerboys with not much education in the cockpit and thus raising the amount of planes beeing in the air at the same time in ww2. Overwhelming the enemy by sheer numbers. Logically you cant use only graduated personnell if you have to put many pilots in the air. Btw germany started a similiar programme with their He162 which was so simple that even HJ children or or Volkssturmgramps were supposed to fly them. Every important limitation was written in the cockpit and a superior speed was thought to neglect the need of proper training. Shoot at them, then outrun them and get home :)
